I have been several times and each time it gets better and better. The food is wonderful, I especially love the Fiesta Lime Chicken and the strawberry lemonade is wonderful. We've tried all the appetizers and my favorite by far is the pretzels. My favorite server was Elizabeth, she is attentive and so nice. Everytime we are in Morganton we eat at the Applebee's. It is the only Applebee's that we like in the entire chain. We always sit at the bar and prefer off peak times. The food is always exactly as you ask for it, the service is great and you are never out of a drink. It's too bad that no other Applebee's can be this awesome! read more

Good beer... Well we decided to swing in for a quick bite and had a party of 4. So of course we had a wait of 15-20 minutes, not too bad. Well a pet peeve of mine is if you have open table of which I counted 8 big tables, the wait should be brief. Two parties, one of three guest, and a party of four came in the door and were sat immediately. We were standing 10 ft away at the bar clearly the hostess could see us, but when I asked why we weren't seated before them he said he had called us multiple times. Well that is a lie, I watched him seat the other parties and never call our party. The restaurant wasn't packed, the waiting area wasn't crowded, and there were only two parties waiting when we arrived. So too busy or any of those excuses won't work so save it. You lost $80-$100 in business tonight but one single incident such as this is how your company as a whole loses business for life! read more

i usually dont leave reviews but the service was wonderful and the mango dragonfruit lemonade and grilled chicken salad was as well, BUT. my 2 friends and i ate the spinach artichoke dip and i projectile vomited about 30 minutes after i left. sorry to the kids at the park that witnessed me do that, it was horrendous but hilarious. read more

We came here at 2:30pm on a Saturday. Let me start off by saying the staff here is nice. The waitress was very friendly. The problem is the food. My mother got the Bruchetta Sirloin and I got the Burbon Street Sirloin and half a rack of ribs. My mother said the stuffed portobello mushroom was by far, the best thing on her plate. My steak... Was sad. It was gray-brown in color, and had a texture I can only describe as mostly gelatinous. In addition, it was completely flavorless. After a few bites of steak, I pushed it aside because the texture was making me nauseous. The honey BBQ ribs were decent, but not the best I've ever had. The waitress took $10.00 off of my meal in an effort to make up for the steak. While it was a nice gesture, there is no making up for the poor quality of the food. We will not be back. read more

This is the second time we have been here, this time for dinner. My husband and I only ordered appetizers for dinner. The pretzels were microwaved as well as the cheese sauce it came with. We also ordered the cheese burger egg rolls as well that were Luke warm. This is an absolute crap hole! The service is awful especially having to wait on the server. I am aware that this is a "chain" however there is no "green" in the green goddess wedge salad, the brunch burger that my partner ordered was not medium rare but well done, and my French onion soup was like warm and the cheese was not melted. All three items are simple to make so I was irritated. The hostess was short and irritated we asked for a booth w a practically empty restaurant, and the waitress was "ok." I wasn't expecting anything 4 star but it should have at least been edible. The temp of the restaurant was 63 degrees as well and the other patrons, though few, were in jackets. If you want a burger, salad, soup, or a beer just drive the extra mile to yanni's, at least their heat works. And last but. Not least, there is a game device on the table... If you even mess with it you are charged a $1.99, absolutely amazed. read more

Terrible. It was deserted on a Sunday afternoon. That should've been our first clue that lunch would be doomed. We waited more than 20 minutes for our drinks, which never did arrive. Our server must have left with them because she never came back either. We flagged down a competent looking server and cancelled the drinks and went elsewhere. Never again. read more

I agree with the others on this site, there is a manger problem with this restaurant. PRIME location, but service is horrible. We visited on a regular basis for about 3 months and that was enough. We usually visited at 1 - 3 in afternoon, NOT very busy, but had to wait on food, drinks, service, sitting, etc like the restaurant was packed. The last service we had was at the end of August on a 2pm sitting, ordered food for family of 5. One sirloin was never delivered, said it was "Lost" -- manager was called-- VERY POOR EXCUSE for a managing officer and representative of this restaurant. ALL she offered in way of apology was to remove the undelivered steak price from our total bill. DID the woman seriously think I was going to pay for something I NEVER received? No Sorry about your problem, no offer to comp other meal if we would give them another try... NOTHING. read more

What a disappointment! Their menu looks so good but the meals come out looking like they were thrown on the plate or someone else's leftovers. The service wasn't lacking. Only the food. Shrimp that were supposed to be grilled were rubbery and tiny. Kids chicken grillers weren't even cut up and was very dry. My sirloin wasn't bad but the plate had remnants of the cooked blood from the steak running into the broccoli and potatoes. I used to love this place but obviously they need some help. read more

My order has been wrong every time I visited. I spoke to a manager about my last visit and was offered a meal pass sent via mail. When I received it I was actually going to go back and give them one more try. Until I realized I was offered a $15 pass for a $40 meal of which my fiance and I were able to eat maybe 1/4 of due to it being undercooked or overcooked. Don't know why the reviews are so bad. Service has always been good. Reasonable waits. My steak was over cooked twice and on both occasions, it was taken care of quickly and manager came over to apologize. Have only been once and will not go back. The food quality and portions were less than appropriate for the cost!! Our food was cold after a longer than normal length of time. If I could give zero stars I would because we never got a chance to even sit down. It's Monday night and we just tried to have dinner here. After waiting several minutes for the hostess to even acknowledge us, despite having greeted the only other waiting family while we were standing next to them. She finally came back to tell us it would be a five minute wait. She mumbled it too and refused to make eye contact. As more than half the tables were empty, this didn't make any sense. Once I got on yelp and checked it out, I see this is a recurring issue and wasn't likely to get better once we were seated. So, we left and found someplace else to eat. read more

It is too much like a "bar room", or truck stop would be better description...nothing like a restaurant. The music is dominant factor in the restaurant. If the owner is trying for a "bar" atmosphere, they have accomplished it! There is a systemic problem at this restaurant. Waited at the hostess stand upon entering for several minutes. After being seated, waited several more minutes before server arrived to take drink order. I could understand if this was an evening when the restaurant was crowded and busy but this was a Monday evening and the restaurant was less than 25% full. Placed order and never received our drinks. Finally when meal arrived, we had to ask for our drinks. When they came they were so weak, they tasted like water. Server never checked on us or gave a reason why drinks didn't arrive prior to meal. Finally when ready to pay our check, we had to flag down our server and request it. When we told her about the drinks, she offered to talk them off our bill. Throughout the entire evening, we never saw a manager interacting with diners. We were not the only ones to endure spotty service. I watched the other tables seated around us and they received the same treatment. It was so bad, they were calling across the aisle to one another, asking how long each had been waiting. This was my last time at this Applebee's. Next time I want their food, I'll go to a nearby city. read more

My husband and I received the worst service tonight (2/23/17) that we have ever experienced in any restaurant. We have been married 30 years. The waitress was slow, inattentive and disappeared after we received our food and drinks. I mean, we never saw her again. After finishing our meal and waiting 20 minutes for a bill, and requesting one from another waitress, the bartender helped us determine how much we owed and we left that much in cash. We never saw a bill or received a receipt. On the way out, there was a small group of people who had just left and said they waited for over 30 minutes and no one waited on them. I have read several reviews and it has seriously improved. This is a brand new restaurant, with brand new people who just need to find their flow. I had the new Crispy Brewhouse Chicken and it was so good I cleaned my plate and I normally need a box. The service was wonderful, I never had to ask for a refill because my drink was always full. This was our third time eating there". After each time we said we would be back. Yet we decided we would try one more time with some friends who wanted to meet there. My husband and I ordered the 8oz sirloin steak. We waited for about 40 minutes befor the meals arrived to our table..The server Sid she was waiting on the steaks to finish cooking. There were not but about fifteen people in the resturant so they where not busy.. The steaks and the sides were cold. I assume they had been sitting back there fo a while. The steaks were a gray color with very few grill marks. Looked like they were microwaved and then put on the grill. They taste just like cardboard with no taste at all except for the salt and pepper we had to put on them for flavor. The sides were cold and were small servings. Another person with us ordered the grilled chicken and it also was cold and also taste like cardboard ~ with no seasoning at all. Presentation of the food on the plate was horrible. Everyone of the five people in our party said they would not return for another meal there. It was terrible to spend $40.00 for two meals and two teas with tip and not be able to eat much of it at all. This time we will NOT be back. Would not recommend to anyone. read more
