Our waitress was nice and we didn't have any issues with her. The food was below average. My salad was not good, the lettuce shouldn't have been sent to the table. The mashed potatoes were basically flavorless and they don't have any type of gravy. Had to put butter and lots of salt and pepper on it. The steak was cooked perfectly but not flavor and it was smaller than what a 6 ounce steak should be. The ribs had almost no meat on them and didn't taste good. They do provide a military discount which is much appreciated. Probably won't be eating here again. Never saw a manager. read more

It's Applebee's, keep your expectations low. No wonder they're closing down all over. The two hostesses had no clue what they were doing, there was a 20 to 25 minute wait and they didn't take our name. They disappeared for what seemed like 10 to 15 minutes and came back to a waiting area full of people. The waitress took our order for two bar drinks and two waters. She came back 10 minutes later with our two bar drinks only and never brought water. Had to ask for it a second time. The bar drinks had no alcohol in them. The waitress did not write down our order, which resulted in it coming out incorrect. Ordered a burger with jack cheese and it came out with American. Advised the waitress, she took it back only to return to say they couldn't scrape the cheese off the burger so they were making a new one. By the time I got my burger my girlfriend was done with her meal. I asked for ketchup and mustard and the waitress brought ketchup and mayonnaise. Paying was quite challenging. We tried three times on the device to pay at the table. All failed. Eventually we left a gift card and cash on the table and walked out. The only upside to the meal is that the french fries were hot and the waitress offered a second free drink on her for all of her screwup's. read more

Food and service were fine for 11:30 on a Saturday. What I couldn't get past was the inside hasn't changed in decades. It smelled like a grandparents or a pool hall. The carpet was visibly nasty and old. Most likely had not been deep cleaned or replaced in many many years. read more

This place has completely fallen apart!!! I wouldn't let my dog eat there... no one ever washes their hands!!! Food is horrible chicken wings are always raw. Corporate needs to take a good long look at management there. The service continues to disappoint. Only customers in the entire place and it still took 45 mins to order and get our food....at lunch! Waitress did a decent job when she was out of the back. She seemed to disappear quite a lot but I understand if she was waiting on the food to be done. Food was good but I'm one of the few that enjoys Applebee's. I should have known better after reading the reviews, but I thought I would give it a chance. Needless to say service was horrible. After being seating and watching two other tables being waiting on before us I was already wanting to leave, but still stayed. No silverware for appetizers and didn't see our waitress until it was time for check. I literally had to ask the hostess 3 different times for things we needed, exp silverware, A1 sauce, refill for drinks. Lesson learned go with review score next time!! read more

Our server was very pleasant. Her name was Cain. She kept our water glasses full and tended to our needs. EXCELLENT service from her!! 5 stars!!! I ordered a 7 oz sirloin steak with no butter on my veggies and only cheese on my baked potato. The steak looked like it was a VERY cheap piece of meat; but it was actually done medium rare and tasted very good. The broccoli was perfect and the baked potato was fine, nothing special about it. I will say that after 10 mins of leaving the restaurant, I became very sick from the steak. I threw up and felt like I had food poisoning. My husband and I went to WalMart across the road and picked up several bottles of stomach medicine. My husband ordered the Triple Hog Dare Ya. The bread was soggy, and was full of grease....dripping. The ham on the bottom wasn't even warm, it was still cold and he only had 1 piece of bacon. Bacon is love to him. It made him sick to him stomach (and he never gets sick to his stomach) and it was a very poor meal. He saw it on an ad on the TV and it looked absolutely delicious from there. Hubby and went to this Applebee's location yesterday and the food, starting with the salad, was awful! The lettuce was brown, and have been previously frozen and apparently thought it was very watery. The waitress brought me another salad and it was about the same. I always felt Applebees desire was to brand itself as a family restaurant. Then why oh why is it every time I come to this location they're playing head banging heavy metal? And I'm not talking about late at night when the bar has more patrons than the restaurant. I'm talking about the height of the dinner hour. I'm not asking for elevator music, but something less violent-sounding would certainly be a better complement my meal. Other than that, this location is pretty much what you'd expect from a chain restaurant in Jessamine Co. The female servers are always busy hanging out by the bar or kitchen, unprofessionally complaining about this or that within earshot of the customers rather than taking care of their tables. Came here with family for dessert ONLY. Took 20 minutes to get 3 brownie bites and 2 Blondies. Ice cream was melted and brownies and blondies were HARD as a rock. Manager, whom wasn't very personable, came to the table and we showed him the desserts. He said he could fix it in 5 minutes, no problem. Walked in and got seated right away, now the bad part sat in there for 15 minutes didn't see a server , manager or bartender guess maybe they were all outside smoking, continue to wait for someone to ask if we wanted drinks but nope!! Cigarette must have been good!!! most likely I could have made my own drinks and nobody would have know !!!! So we left and now I understand why they are closing Applebee's down all over !! Applebee's is good for a casual night out, date night or just to watch a game. Food is just short of good, prices are so-so. I've discovered lately that while places keep increasing their menu prices, the food quality/quantity seems to go lower. If they expect people not to notice, they're wrong. Applebee's was amazing when it first came to Nicholasville. One of my favorite salad was a chicken pecan salad and we loved the nachos. Then, suddenly the salad was gone, and the nachos were "improved". The reasons we went to eat there were limited by the changes in the menu. The only thing they seem to have kept over the years was a blondie with a maple sauce that is to die for. Recently, they have made some changes to the menu that are really tasty. We gave them a chance after having not visited in 3 or 4 years. The additions to the menu are really good, and have brought us back on probably a monthly basis. If you haven't been in a while, it is worth giving them a chance to prove that they are keeping up with the times and adding great menu items. read more

The potato soup on Wednesday at lunch is delicious with a grill cheese or turkey sandwich or any of the sandwiches. They got me right in and out, I have one hour for lunch and I was back in the office at 12:40. That includes driving time, I consider that very good service. I went with a friend and we both are so sick! I ordered a hamburger and the burger was raw in the middle and the tomato slice was rotten and when I told my waitress she just brought me a new slice. This place is always risky. I've only eaten inside a couple times, and it seemed classless tbh. The staff aren't very friendly or helpful. What upset me was the last time we ordered curbside. (we don't do this super frequently but it's very convenient and usually yummy.) And that is the reason I won't be going back to this location- and probably won't use Applebee's again because they're not that special to go out of my way for. But we ordered online and it said it'd be ready in 20 minutes. We live 5 mins away so we left a little early just in case. It was literally 30 minutes later before it arrived. We were never greeted. Some girl hurriedly ran to the window with a bag of food (and I thought "that was fast!" and was super pleased and then extremely disappointed) that wasn't ours and then instead of asking our name, giving us a total, or jack crap she was just like" Oh it'll be a few minutes." I'm not kidding, 30 minutes later. I was disgusted. She forgot to bring the drink we ordered and we forgot to ask because it was shocking the rush she was in to drop off our food (along with the person who just happened to pull up behind us...making me wonder, why she was waiting to bring our food with someone else's when we were waiting so long)... no apology, no have-a-good-night.
