I normally really enjoy this applebees however it is December 28th and they are still playing Christmas music. It was also very loud to the point you couldn't have a conversation with the person next to you. I asked the GM to please lower the volume and please change the station. I honestly I do not know why I keep giving this place another try!!!! Today my daughter, granddaughter and I went her for lunch. We waited for approximately 5 mins before our waitress every arrived and honestly had already decided on what we wanted to eat. My daughter ordered the Blue Hawaiian Long Island iced tea, water, BBQ brisket tacos with myself ordering and sweet tea with lemon and fish and chips. My tea came first, the the Long Island tea but no water. My tea also didn't have lemon. Our meals arrive somewhat later. At no time did our waitress Christine G, ever check back to see if we needed anything or how our meal was. She was actually walking by when we requested a box and the check. She came back with the boxes and no check. She eventually returned with the check and then we sat. After about 5 mins, my daughter picked up the table computer and discovered how to turn it on. The computer booted up and we were able to pay our bill. While completing the survey our waitress finally appeared to take payment. The food was actually wonderful and we both enjoyed it. The issue is and has always been the service. In my opinion it seems that the hostess and waitstaff really do not wish to seat or serve anyone. It is like customers are an imposition and an annoyance. For the cost of lunch today we could have chosen many others in the area that would have provided better service and food for much less! I'll be honest it's been a while (1 yr +) since the last time I came in for a burger special. Last time the burger was like it came from Steak N Shake, flat, dry & tasteless. Don't get me wrong Steak N Shake does have a decent burger when it's made right. Usually if a place really sucks and pisses me off I will not return. I wasn't happy at 1st but....ok, ok it was yummy right down to the fries. I ordered the New Beer Garden off the Burger Night Monday menu ($6.99). Now it was to come smothered in onions and bacon. What I got was something totally different. This burger was perfectly cooked (med. rare) and placed on top of sautéed onions then smothered in some kind of strange melted funky type of cheese with pickles on top of the cheese. I know what your thinking but no problem I fixed it. Yup off with the pickles and on with the Hot Jalapeños...pure awesomeness!!! ROACH ALERT!! ROACH ALERT!! My girlfriend, her aunt, uncle and I were there SATURDAY afternoon. To get the 2 for $20. Now from the other reviews we all know about the quality of the food. It's ok at best. So we get our appetizers and as we are finishing the last of our boneless wings my girls' aunt says "OH MY GOD THERE'S A ROACH BY THE WINDOW!" I turn around and see this inch long roach walking along the window sill. So I run to get a waitress and it just so happened to be our waitress that dashes over there with one of those debit card/check holders. She proceeds to SMASH the roach against the wall right by this table of elderly people waiting to get drinks! The manager tried defending the place by saying it was the first roach he's seen there. I walked in to Applebee's today around 4 PM, It was very slow and I was told there was a wait to be seated. Half the place was empty. The hostess casually walked around and sat people after letting them wait for 15 mins. When she finally agreed to seat us she said there was only high tops open. There were plenty of booths open and we were told if we wanted a booth we'd have to wait another 20 mins. We said take us off the list then and went to Ale House where we were sat immediately and the food was great! FYI; there was no manager in site at Applebee's. We come here occasionally thinking things will get better. We are frequent karaoke goers at different places. The dj on Saturday nights at Applebee's is continually late. From my understanding (spoke to a manager at one point) it starts at 10-1030 depending if there is a customer in the djs spot, mostly this is not the case. With applebees being "kid friendly" the dj should begin on time. It always appears he is busy fraternizing with the teens girls that come rather than doing his job professionally. It doesn't help to complain to the manager. On a good note, I've never had an issue with service or food. Drinks don't compare to chilis. read more

My friends and I stopped here after a magic game Sunday night and I will never return again after the embarrassment I experienced. I went to order a beer and was turned down due to my state issued non-expired drivers license "not lining up with their criteria." The state has never made me update my photo since I was 15 and I'm 28 now so due to that they turned down my request. My birthday is march 13th 1990. The ID clearly also has the state watermark and hologram on it so it is not a fake ID. Anyways, after Andrea turned me down for the beverage the manager I believe his name was Ron came out and looked over my ID and said that they won't be able to serve me to which I said fine and asked for a coke instead which he said would be on the house. At this point Andrea brought out my coke and continued to talk about the ID process and what she looks for which doesn't matter to me at that point. I've worked in and out of food service for years so I know the drill and what to look for in an ID. The soft skills in this scenario by staff were extremely lacking. I had no problem not being served beer but when I am there with 4 of my friends relaxing you don't keep talking about it. At that point I didn't order food and went and sat in the car as the entire experience was ruined and I was embarrassed about it as they made a spectacle of the whole situation. This place used to be good but eating here has now become a huge waste of time and money. We placed an order online and it was a 20 minute time frame. We live a little over 20 minutes away from this location. In the past, I've placed multiple orders online at the cassleberry location & twice at this one with no issues but apparently now no one here seems to know how to handle online orders because when we arrived to pick up our order they had absolutely no idea where our order was even though I had an email confirmation.. We waited over half an hour for our food to be prepared while there & when we got home there were things missing from our order. So we paid for food we never received. The craziest thing is they try to charge you extra for the smallest things. It's extra to have cheese on your burger. It's extra to get onion rings as a side and not fries ,etc. Everything is an additional fee and it's not like anything was made right either. At best everything was simply okay. The portions they serve you for ordering out are much smaller even though you are paying exactly the same as dining in. We were frequent customers but we will never again throw away our money here. We will stick to chilis and cheddars from now on when looking for a quick place to eat close by. Overall we were super disappointed in everything from customer service, food quality, price, and wait time & sadly we were not the only ones either, a few people ended up leaving after coming in and seeing how business was being conducted. He claimed he turned it up and got nasty when I told him it was just as cold as when we entered the restaurant. He argue with me and said if he turns it off that it gets like a sauna in here. Not a very good experience for lunch. My sons Mac and cheese was on the dry side. My daughter ordered a steak medium rare, but it was delivered pretty much rare and barely warm. Even after getting a new steak it was still uneatable. I understand it was the lunch rush, but we hardly saw our waitress. The waitress asked me to check the steak to see if it was cooked to my preference. It was medium well. She offered to take it back but I hate to waste food so I said I would eat it anyway. She asked if I was sure and said she could have another one done for me, but I ate it anyway. Even the manager came out and said it would not be a problem to have another one done for me. Ordered the All Day Brunch burger over the phone on Saturday afternoon, car side to go not available- not enough staff. Burger was described as "Seared In: bacon & onion. Piled on: fried egg,* crispy hash browns, American cheese and ketchup" and I chose fries as my side item and did not want the onions 'seared in'. Got 10 minutes away from the restaurant and 5 minutes from home, stopped at a light and checked the bag, no fries and the onions were just all over in the bottom of the burger box. So Either turn back and wait for fries or goto Wendy's right by the stoplight, chose Wendy's (great fries and they've never screwed up my order ). Get home and eating, No bacon seared in, no ketchup on the burger and very little hash browns or cheese. Burger was very dry without the cheese and ketchup. Was told there was no booth available and saw that there was one clean near by and no wait in the building . Our waitress Darlene T was very rusty and took forever to bring our drinks or to take our orders. When I asked her to substitute an item she rudely cut me off mid sentence with a loud no we can not substitute anything on that part of the menu. I said ok and went on ordering my food. Then she asked my little sister to place her order and my sister want Mac n cheese with her tenders but she said Mac n cheese wasn't on the kids menu so we ordered fries instead. The waitress comes back and says it will be awhile on the Mac n cheese I ordered. I said we ordered fries not Mac n cheese remember?she said oh I thought you wanted the fries and Mac n cheese on the side? Then huffed and stormed away to the kitchen where I could hear her tell the cooks how dumb I was and how I forgot that I ordered it on the side. And continued to express how difficult I was being. I told another waitress that I could hear her talking about me and that maybe she should lower her voice when talking shit. That lady said sorry and told the manager. The manager took forever to come over to the table and at that time we got our appetizer that consisted of stale chips. I explained the situation and asked for a new server and fresh chips and he said he would send someone over. Another girl came over and help us for a little but Darlene kept getting in the way trying to get us refills and gave us the check with her name on it.
