Where do I begin? The decor looks like it was stolen from a 2003 garage sale and reassembled by someone who's never experienced joy. Sticky menus. Flickering lights. A smell that can only be described as "ranch dressing meets despair." I ordered the "Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp," which apparently translates to "rubbery meat doused in sugar water served on a sizzling plate of sadness." My mashed potatoes were cold, but not in an avant-garde, deconstructed way--more like they'd been left in the fridge next to someone's forgotten lunch from April. The service? Imagine being ghosted, but in real life. Our server vanished like a magician mid-shift, only to return 30 minutes later with our drinks--flat sodas that had clearly died waiting for rescue. Even the music was offensive. It's as if the playlist was curated by someone punishing the dining room for existing--nonstop '90s pop at a volume calibrated to crush the human spirit. When the check came, I laughed. Not because the prices were good--oh no--but because it was the final punchline to this surreal joke of a meal. We paid to suffer. And then tipped out of pity. The onion soup is to die for ! THE NEW WHOLE LOTTA BACON BURGER was good ! Had a bit of a kick at the end ! Food was not soggy even for take out ! Only down side , no utensils , ketchup or napkins . Even leaving an automatic tip . Second time this has happened . The passion fruit lemonade was weak . Watered down unfortunately. We ordered 3 meals and a few entrees for delivery to my house. First of all, the total meal was way over priced for the portions of food. I will never spend so much money for such mediocre food again. My wife's French onion soup was missing from the order and my burger was missing cheese and had no sauce or items like the picture of it. On a good note, I got my money back for the missing soup in the order and the other items that we had were ok, not great, but ok. I will never do delivery from them again and i'm not sure if i'll ever even bother bringing myself, family or friends to Applebee's again. The food is mid. If I'm paying $13 for a meal, I want something with flavor, not something that is underwhelming. Every time I go, i never finish my food because the blandness is that unappetizing. The service is a hit or miss. Either really fast, or super slow. Although the servers are usually very kind. The good attitude that they have is the only reason this has two stars instead of one. It's refreshing to order from someone who is listening and smiling and seems to like their job. The atmosphere is extremely overstimulating. It's so loud, and god forbid you get seated near the bar. Loud intoxicated people is not what I want to listen to while I'm trying to make the best out of a tasteless meal. read more

We both ordered the waffle fries appetizer which was good. We also both ordered the ribeye steak medium rare. Steak came out and while it looked good on the outside, when we cut into the steak you could tell that the steak had been out of refrigeration for some time. The mashed potatoes where cold, the broccoli was cooked correctly. The color of the steak on the inside reminded me of a grayish tinge at best. My girlfriend told the hostess who took 15 dollars off the check. My girlfriend was violently ill from eating the steak after we left the restaurant. I had a mild stomach ache myself. We would have had the steaks re-done, but we didn't want to make a stink and I don't mind eating steak at any temperature for the most part. While we don't expect a high end steak such as from a big steakhouse as it is Applebee's, we also don't expect to get sick from eating at a major chain restaurant. Final note: The table top kiosk didn't have a battery in it so we had to wait for the server to pay for the food, not a big deal but if your going to have the kiosks on the table, make sure there is a battery in it for customers to use or remove them from the table. read more

I thought EVERYONE should know that I walked into Applebee's and was RUDELY told that the kitchen couldn't handle any more people. It was 8 pm. The place was not even busy at all. Then a short women came over and ASKED US IF MY GIRLFRIEND WAS MY MOTHER!!Absolutely uncalled for and then she said that it was a compliment....... Me and my girlfriend ran out there in digust and now she is very very sad and emotional. I could not believe that someone who works in a restaraunt would even ask that question. This is enough to send someone over the edge that is already struggling with self esteem issues...!!! I will be back in to talk to the manager!! Wish I could give it no stars....Horrible Car-Side-To-go service!! I have placed 10 different orders with this Applebee's and they have only gotten 2 of them barely right. Not once has any Applebee's employee ever come out to My car; I have ALWAYS had to go in. I order the same thing every time. I order the Oriental Chicken Salad with the fried chicken. Simple enough right ??? Nope ! They screw up the order EVERY TIME !!! I never get utensils or even a napkin. I have complained to management every time and they seem accommodating and usually replace the order or give me my money back but I wish they would just get it right the first time. There are many other better options in & around there so if I were you,..I would pass up this Applebee's and go directly across the street to The Ocean Pearl Chinese Restaurant; MUCH better food AND service !! read more

We were in Maine for seven days and we ate at the Applebee's twice. The service was very good, and the food was very good.My wife had some dietary restrictions, they checked with the staff and the kitchen to make sure she could have the things that she had ordered, they went above and beyond to take care of us. The manager Tom was very good he even came over to let us know that my wife could eat the food that she had ordered without having to change or take any of the ingredients out which we really appreciate it. read more

I understand this is a chain restaurant but this is by far the worst one. Terrible rude management. The worst microwaved food out of any Applebees. I've heard from workers there how horrific it is back there and I feel so bad for them. This place needs a complete overhaul of new staff. Last time I went I had a terrible meal, and when I went up to discuss the problems with it (in a nice manner, not asking for a refund or anything rude) I was told by the manager Justin nothing could be done. After this he was very rude to me, raising his voice and being belligerent. The lady, Michelle who works there as well was rude the entire time and was overheard by myself and my guests talking very inappropriately behind customers' backs about our party as well as others. This place needs new management and staff badly. The cooks in the back are very good and try their hardest with the limited resources they're given. I wouldn't advise going. read more

Horrendous. We came here directly from a memorial service. We called ahead, and the person who spoke with us on the phone told us she'd put our reservation info in. We arrived and were told that whoever that person was left and didn't tell anyone anything about us. We were told it would be a wait, and were waiting. I was having a private conversation with my father about what seemed to be going on, when one of the managers, who apparently believes it is appropriate to eavesdrop on customers, interjected loudly into our conversation from the other side of the room that I was just wrong because they don't take reservations. I found this to be wildly unprofessional and invasive. This was a private and quiet conversation. We were finally seated and waited quite a while for our food (which was fair, as we were a group of 12), which arrived cold and unseasoned. The 3 cheese penne had zero cheese in it. It was just a liquidy tasteless penne. I saw another reviewer mention that the he McDonald's in this area is a better choice. They aren't wrong. read more

It's an Applebees - what more can I say? Tonight I had the Thai shrimp salad, which was delicious and a perfect dinner for a not-overly-hungry man. I was sad they didn't really have any pasta dishes to speak of, but I guess that's not their schtick. Shoutout to my greeter and my server, both of whom were extremely friendly and attentive. The waitress Jemma was awesome and the manager came by to see how our meals were and we told him it was our first time at an Applebee's. I have never had a great opinion about this restaurant. I've been several time to various locations of Applebee's in Nh and MA but not this one. I went on me and my wife's 2nd month anniversary (yea we love to celebrate our milestones) I know I was in a great mood already but I went in with no real expectations. The service was excellent! Our server kept up with our drinks levels and checked in just enough to show that she really cared. The food (a full rack of Baby back ribs and the bacon cheddar Mac) was Excellent too! I was for the first time in my life very impressed with this Applebee's. Fortunately, I live quite close and will definitely be back. We ordered two of the 2 for 20$ to go, and the food was ready by the time we arrived. I noticed that we were missing an entire entrée. Upon re-entering the restaurant, the manager met me at the door and helped me out very quickly, and pleasantly. He even offered to bring it out to my car, and threw in two desserts for the error. I came here with my family for my nephew's 6th birthday. Their food was delicious, we all ordered different meals and everyone enjoyed theirs. Service was fast and great. The manager is phenomenal! He made my nephew feel so special, a group of waiters brought his cake out singing and clapping. He was so excited. Great food, great service. We will be going back. read more

Crappy service. Order was wrong and cold. Onion rings were massively burned. Had to send the server back twice once for the drinks and once for one of the kids orders. All American burger only had cheese and was over cooked. They were not busy so there is no excuse for bad service. Won't be going back. read more
