The Ultimate Trio is awesome! I love the chicken wonton tacos, but they are pretty pricey on the regular menu. The Trio is a better deal. It is $13.99 and you have your choice of appetizers. We prefer the quesadilla and two orders of the wonton tacos. Super yummy! Every day, 9pm-midnight the appetizers are half off also. Only certain ones. Monday-Friday 2-5pm they are half off too. She was wonderful however, my two grandkids' school was not brought up after my husband and I ate our food and I ordered my steak 12 hours ribeye to be medium. Well, it came out well done. I just returned my steak because they were gonna make it again. I said no I don't like my food going back. I don't trust the kitchen when your food comes back. My wife and I haven't been to Applebees for a few years. We used to go pretty regularly. We decided to go there today before the rush that happens usually around 5pm. We went in, met the hostess, asked for a window booth next to where I parked my Harley to keep an eye on it. She wanted to seat us on the opposite side of the restaurant. I insisted and she claimed that the EMPTY BOOTHS I was literally looking at were 'taken'. I insisted again and got a booth where I could watch my Harley. We chose our menu items and I chose a $3 pint of tap beer. The waiter was a nice enough guy. Someone else served the meals. Not him. My wife was served a Chicken dinner with mashed Garlic potatoes. The Chicken looked like it was under the warmer for an hour and not hot, and the mashed potatoes were tepid, also not hot. I ordered 4 cheese Mac and cheese with Chicken tenders. The Chicken literally looked like turds with a glaze sauce and the Mac wasn't even macaroni. It was a penne pasta with a tasteless white baeshimel (sp) sauce. No orange Cheddar cheese at all. The waiter took care of the issues with speed and accuracy. He gave stellar service and was tipped 'under the table' so as NOT to share with his undeserving fellow wait staff. Very dissatisfied and probably won't go back. Restaurants these days that have terrible management and food suppliers need to get it together or 'belly up' eventually. read more

When we arrived at Applebee's, they offered us the option to wait at the bar until our table was ready. We agreed and sat down to wait to be called. But while we were sitting there, we noticed that other people who came in after us were being seated before us. No one ever checked in with us or gave us an update, and we were just left waiting--hungry and confused. Eventually, I had to get up and ask what was going on. They just said it was okay now, but honestly, it felt like they completely forgot about us. At that point, we decided to just leave. It was such a waste of time and really frustrating. I stopped by Applebee's for Thanksgiving dinner. I have to say I was very disappointed. Thin deli sliced turkey from a 3" thick deli roll. About 10 slices. Not a cooked turkey, microwaved. The stuffing, gravy, potato and green beans were all good. But the star of the show was the problem. Not worth the $17 charged. I was probably better off getting a Hungry Man Turkey dinner for less than $5. No complaints about other food and service which are usually very good. We like Applebee's! We go in there and eat every once in a while! They seemed to have good deals. I like looking at the pictures on the walls. It's all local stuff I'm talking about the Riverbank Applebee's! Everybody's always friendly and we get good service and if you want to have a drink, they have some killer drinks! The only thing we noticed the last time that we really didn't care for was our waitress had 2 inch long fingernails that is not sanitary. They were so long she picked everything up with the sides of her fingers. She gave good service, but her fingernails were very distracting. I kept thinking about how you do your hygiene in the bathroom when you have fingernails like that kind of grossed us out. Because of the distraction nasty fingernails. After a moratorium of many years from eating at Applebee's due to poor service and mediocre food, I decided to give them another try. Fast forward several years later and a different location, and it has made a world of difference. The decor here is definitely very dated so don't expect much as far as ambiance goes. The restaurant was pretty full when I arrived, but I was seated fairly quickly. This place is loud. The cacophony of TV's playing sports throughout the restaurant and patrons conversing loudly is a common theme here. If you are coming here for a quiet dinner, you have come to the wrong place. It is well suited for families and large groups. Service here has been very good. A far cry from what I experienced before my moratorium on Applebee's. I can even say that some servers are excellent and consistently so. Madelaine, Julie, and Paul have always treated me, my friends, and family very well. Management has been very friendly too. The food here is actually pretty good. Many times it can be excellent. Pricing is very reasonable too if you get their "2 For" specials on the back of the menu. They also have lunch specials served until 4 pm. My biggest complaint, many times the dishes are not served hot. I often order the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo and it is almost always served lukewarm at best. I simply have them reheat it and I am OK. It should have been served hot from the get go though. They can also be a bit skimpy with the Alfredo sauce. Ask for more if needed. If you are into desserts, I highly recommend the Cinnabon Mini Swirls. Warm, delicious, and served with a generous helping of cinnamon, sugar, and cream cheese frosting. It comes with caramel too, but I forego the caramel as the Cinnabon's are already sweet enough for me. These are addicting to say they least. Don't say I didn't warn you. One thing to note to make your experience here as good as it can be. They will accommodate almost any change they can to prepare your food to your liking. If there is something listed that you don't like on a dish, let them know up front. They will go out of their way to make sure you are happy with your food. They accommodate my friend who is very picky. She loves that they do not look down upon her for making special requests. I have experienced a very saddened experience. I stop in with my friend for a drink before heading to the Sierra Rep. The waitress was clueless and even asked what Baileys was. My friend asked to pay the bill n she gave the waitress $20 n she brought change we thought so she left a tip n we left. Well our other friends were there too n were asked if they knew us n they said yes she said we didn't pay our bill. Our friends paid our bill but my question is why would she just bring back change for the $20 n not take out what we owed. My friend didn't count the money just left the tip thinking she had taken out for the drinks. Very insulting to us to think we didn't pay our bill. We are seniors and hv more sense than that. She was really nice, on time with everything, actually came back to ask if we needed anything, and brought everything we asked for to us fast. The 2 for $25.00 was the best food for the price I've had in a while. The chips and salsa, plus Spinach in Hot Melted Cheese dip was very good. My "Oriental Chicken Salad" was very good, and very large. I couldn't even eat it all. I just wish it had the Peanut Sauce dressing or Sesame Ginger. It comes with a kind of Teriyaki Sauce (in a very small, little bowl) and something like Coleslaw dressing, but it was good anyway. Mine came with an amazing Breadstick.
