KJs Angie and Scotty ("The 2 Hotties") run a smooth rotation. No weird gaps, no rushing people, no favoritism vibes--just steady, fair, and easy to work with. That matters more than people think. It keeps the whole room relaxed, and you can feel it. Amy behind the bar was on it all night. Friendly, quick, and consistent even when things picked up. Drinks came out right, no attitude, just good energy. That kind of presence anchors a place. We ordered the steak sandwich and a chicken quesadillas along with our drinks. Both were really good! The steak sandwich was especially good. The place has ample seating inside a lot of parking outside. There are also plenty of TVs to catch any of your favorite sports games. It looks like this place can get busy with sports events and during weekend nights. I recommend their business!

We've enjoyed the food, drinks, and even had the pleasure of speaking with the owner on multiple occasions. The service was always welcoming, and the food was consistently phenomenal. Because of those great experiences, we decided to bring some friends on a Saturday night. We arrived around 7:30 PM, and the atmosphere looked promising. There appeared to be a DJ setting up, and the crowd seemed excited for a night of music, food, and drinks. Unfortunately, our experience that evening was completely different from what we had come to expect. We ordered food and drinks, and while our server wasn't outright rude, he seemed uninterested in providing the level of service we had previously received. As the night went on, things became increasingly odd. Shortly after ordering another round of drinks, while our drinks were still full and we had just received them, the server approached our table and asked if we were finished. My boyfriend jokingly responded, "No, let me talk to your manager," and laughed, assuming the server was joking as well. The server responded, "Yeah, it's my brother," but with an attitude that left everyone at our table looking at each other wondering what had just happened. He then informed us that we needed to put a credit card on file. At that point, we had already been there for over an hour, and it seemed strange that this requirement was only being brought up then. We also noticed that no other tables around us were being asked for a card. The most disappointing part came when we received the bill. There was an additional $60 service charge added--$35 on my friends' bill and $25 on ours. Confused, we asked for an explanation. The explanations we received kept changing. First, we were told it was because my boyfriend was sitting with another group, which was completely false. Then we were told it was because the bill exceeded $100. After that, we were told it was because there were more than six people in our party, despite there only being four of us. The inconsistent explanations were frustrating and made it feel as though the staff were simply making up reasons to justify the charge. Our issue wasn't necessarily with a service fee itself--it was the lack of disclosure and the conflicting stories we were given when we asked about it. To make matters worse, the receipt also included a separate line for an additional tip. After discussing it with them and explaining that additional charges should be clearly communicated to customers, the service charge was ultimately removed. This review is not a reflection of the food, which remains excellent, nor of our previous experiences at Standard Pub. It is solely based on the service and handling of the situation during our Saturday night visit. We left feeling disappointed and confused, especially because this establishment had earned our trust through many positive visits in the past. I sincerely hope this was an isolated incident and that management addresses these issues so other customers don't have a similar experience

She seemed disinterested in serving me and was more concerned about talking with the 4 guys. Then another guy & girl joined that group. They all knew one another, obviously regulars. The beer list was decent and well-balanced. 4 IPAs, a couple of Pils/Lager and Stout/Porters, Hazy IPAs, Cider/Selzer, and 4 grocery store beers: Coors Light, Modelo, Bud Light, and ? IPAs were from Henhouse, Drakes, Dust Bowl, and ? Large food menu for such a small place. From the bar, you can easily watch the cook on the flattop. After reading the list of sandwiches, I figured the turkey/ham/etc. was the Sysco-type, inexpensive kind, so I opted for a cheeseburger. Burger & fries arrived on a metal sheet pan. The burger looked good, and the fries looked a bit undercooked (not golden brown). Bun was toasted on the flattop and had a bit of mayo, no mustard, ketchup, etc. Fries came with a small 1oz thimble of ranch. As I suspected, the fries were undercooked. I cut the burger in half, and the center was undercooked. Then I noticed the burger patty was actually two thin patties pressed together. WTF? First bite was a warning- the meat had no seasoning and tasted like cardboard. Thankfully, I got a second beer and washed down the burger. Only ate half of the burger. I'm guessing they sell a lot of booze, because there is no way people are going for the food. I wouldn't be surprised if this place is closed by the end of 2026.

The SO had ran to the restroom and the nice lady asked me at the table if we wanted to order drinks. She upsold a rum and coke (the SO's favorite) not because she had asked the SO on his way to the restroom like I had thought, but because they have a happy hour special on them and a few other drinks. What a coincidence! The special was $5 for certain drinks between 2-7PM. The nice lady also tried upselling me to get a drink for myself. I feel like after saying no the first time, she shouldn't have pushed with an "are you sure?" two times after. We ended up ordering: Onion rings - great fry and crisp batter. One of the reasons I chose to come here. Mac and Smash burger with side salad - uses Kraft mac-n-cheese type noodles that were a little bland. All portions were big and I thought proportional to the price (esp in this economy). What soured our meal was when we received the bill. There were two line items for +$0.75 for cheddar cheese. I spoke with our nice lady server and she said that it was because we got cheese on our burgers... *question marks??* 1. The item description for both our burgers already include cheese 2. We didn't ask to sub any type of, or add more cheese 3. If we were going to be charged for cheese, we weren't prompted about it beforehand. We didn't get the charges taken off until after these 3 statements were made. I get it, $1.50 isn't much but it's the principle of sneaking in $1-2 for something we didn't ask for. It makes me think they do this often at the expense of patrons under the influence. Just a warning for future customers, double check your bill!!

Smh where do I even begin ... came here to eat with my husband, my mother in law and his little sister and let me just say the service was horrible. Server (Sofie) seemed super tired and overworked, which is understandable I work with food I totally get it, but the amount of times that we repeated our drinks, she kept repeating it all wrong back nd still brought out the wrong drinks even tho we had repeated what the drinks we wanted were, for one, nd for two she kept coming around nd asking what our drinks were so we can get refills, still getting it wrong as we told her over nd over ... she asked about 6 times - never got our refills For three, I got what I ordered, a steak, though I ordered it medium it came back what looked like raw as hell .. My family and I decided to go out for dinner. It was My husband, myself and 3 of our dids who are all adults. It seemed like a great idea since we were all together. We wanted to go local, so ended up in Applebee's in riverbank. I am sorry I ever set a foot there. They completely ruined our dinner. They managed to bring the appetizers one hour after ordering. The wait time was ridiculous and we were all hungry. Being very hungry was the reason we ordered appetizers. The main dishes finally arrived except they had to go back immediately . My husband and I ordered steak. He also had ribs in his plate. Everything was cold to the touch, the steak which is normally still sizzling when they place it in front of you, but not this one. The dish and all food items except mashed potatoes were cold. the steaks completely raw and nasty not the medium and well done that we asked for. So My husband asked for manager, who came up with some B.S. excuses and gave us $30 discount. I was so upset; I felt like he just ruined my entire evening with my kids. My husband was super upset. He offered to get, 'another one going', but no thanks, I am not waiting another 1 hour to get my dinner. I think the most unfair was the check. I still paid a good amount for a ruined evening. Reading all the comments on here and I am not surprised. I don't usually care to go to Applebee's but man this Applebee's location is one of a kind. We have been coming here after work and letting loose with coworkers. Each time I've came here one of the bartender chicks was NOT that nice and showed It on her face. As someone who worked in customer service no matter how annoyed you get with a customer you never show It on your face. Boy did she make it obvious she didn't like us. Few other waitresses were rude as (excuse my language) shit! Im usually the type to smile at people walking by but nope, I got no smile back. I highly doubt Applebee's is such a bad job that most of these waitresses can't smile. I came here before and had seen a bunch of people getting drunk and rowdy. But when we had came last time apparently our "laughing" was bothering the waitresses and manager. The ONLY reason why this place is even getting two stars is because of Chris and David. Worst experience with the waitress Rhianon. She was incredibly rude to my family and I celebrating our daughters birthday. After hearing racist comments being made within earshot of my young daughter, we left and placed our order to go over the phone. Only because my daughter was set on eating at Applebee's because of the new ticktock dance and song. The only thing that saved the night was the very sweet waitress with the bow in her hair that handled our to go order. She was quick and so polite and apologised to us for our terrible experience inside offering to get us a manager to discount our meal. She made my daughter a Shirley temple with extra cherries and heated up our dessert so we could share it in the car while we waited for our order. She was amazing and will be the only reason we would ever return to this location. We have been coming to this location for years but will not be returning as long as Rhianon is employed. read more

meth and under age drinking. I was harassed when I asked to use the bathroom as a small shaking female knockEd on the door. I ask if I could pee quick before she cleaned. she became unraveled and incoherent and started scratching profusely. I was meet a my table and told I sexually harassed multiple females and offered to let them watch me pee. lol. I handed my card to pay for the drink I had. I stood while I was waiting and watched a young man scan my card with his phon. when I questioned them, the you man was furious and threatened me. I advised him not to take action. as I ripped my card away the manager (Dalois)? call to a large dishwasher to "handle it". I walked out with my card and was followed. once safe I paused my card and requested a new one. just meth and shady people. super scary read more

Staff were working hard after an unfortunate incident at Applebee's. However, last night the rudeness of the manager was inexcusable. You don't talk to guests that way no matter how stressed you are. They did close at 10 instead of 1AM, which was fine, but we were there far before 10 and they wanted to close then and there. It quite honestly would've been a completely fine experience because the staff was amazing, but the manager was out of hand with his attitude. read more

What can you say - it's Applebees. The food almost never varies from location to location, which can be a good thing. The food is so so, the prices are generally on the expensive side, and the servers often make mistakes on my order. The best thing on their menu is likely their boneless buffalo wings - and maybe their Brewtus. But beyond that, there are a lot of better options in the neighborhood. read more

I forgot why we don't usually go to Applebee's. We ordered the two for $20 meals. The food was warm at best except for the mashed potatoes....they were cold. My son was given a baked potato that was half cooked and most of it was as hard as a rock. Won't likely be going back as I can get poor quality food anywhere! read more

The food here is a quality that doesn't make you feel bad when you leave. We tend to stay on track with our diets and they always accommodate with our questions and substitutes. We greatly appreciate it whole heartedly. Today we had the pleasure of having Oscar as our server and he was great. It was a Friday evening and a little busier than usual which made us wait a little longer. Instead of having us wait and wonder, Oscar came and explained the situation of being busy and that there were a couple more orders ahead of us. That small communication was all we needed to tell us about his work ethics. His continued customer service throughout the evening was amazing. Thank you to all the workers and Oscar for making a great experience, as usual. I would 100% recommend Black Bear Diner.

Exterior and interior reminds me of Disneylands Bayou country with the Bear theme. Service - 4 stars. We got seated fairly quickly but did have to wait awhile before our waitress Maria came by. Even though the place wasn't packed, I'm sure she had a lot of tables. Food- 3 stars. I got the country fried steak. It had 2 eggs and hash brown and toast. There was only one country fried steak given whereas I've been to other breakfast places and they give 2. Toast was over toasted. My wife ordered the corned beef and she didn't like it. In fact, she had to use a napkin to remove it From her mouth. Not sure why she got that since she's never ordered corned beef in a restaurant so for her order- 2 stars. I did try it and definitely something I wouldn't have eaten or ordered myself. Overall, good experience. Menu can be overwhelming with so many choices. Would I come back? For sure but not anytime soon

However, paying $23 for a bowl this bare is hard to justify. I even asked for salsa on the side, and it wasn't included with my order. For the price, I expected a much more complete meal. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing, and I won't be returning.

This review has been drafted for a while and as I'm clearing my storage I reflected on our time here & it was memorable. The food was absolutely delicious! I enjoyed my steak, it was cooked to perfection. Mashed potatoes with gravy were amazing, & the sweet potato casserole was a great dessert. Only reason I held back on a 5 was that not everyone in my party had a great experience with their meals. The Mac & Cheese here is not ideal, it's missing some seasoning and more cheese. My hubby's ribs were overcooked but Ivan was quick to check in on us and correct our issues. The day we visited it was extremely packed and despite of that our server Ivan did a fabulous job checking in on us and we observed him helping many other customers all with a calming and friendly demeanor. It is very admirable to see someone maintain their composure when it's visibly chaotic from huge crowds. Great work, next time I'm in the area I will return.

The place is clean and inviting with plenty of seating, and they were keeping things moving well even with the place being pretty full. The food was quite good, they had a $14.99 special that most of us got, totally worth it. My steak was done perfectly, their chili was super tasty, the pork chops were amazing, they kept the bread and butter flowing, and we were taken care of well the entire time - never an empty cup.
