Tonight's dinner was the 3 cheese chicken penne with the holiday drink on sale the reindeer punch. Because it was an easy night and the holiday drink special caught my eye at 5 dollars I enjoyed it with my meal. For 5 dollars don't expect a whole lot of alcohol but what I did receive was a large fishbowl full of flavor which was a nice addition to the meal in total. My partner and I stopped for some takeout from this Applebee's as we were staying the night in Roswell on our way to CO. I ordered a blackened chicken and loaded mashed potatoes which was delicious. I ordered the 2 for 25. I got the oriental chicken salad. It was ok, the salad was good but the ranch dressing was like water. It didnt stick to the salad just pooled at the bottom. My bf got the chicken parm Alfredo. It was so dry the past was stuck together. He couldn't even get a fork full it just all stuck together. It was midnight on a Friday in Roswell when we drove in. Noting our severely limited options we went with Applebee's over Dennys. We were seated at a high top in the bar area and ordered a couple of beers, some boneless wings, wonton chicken tacos, chicken quesadilla, breadsticks with alfredo and honey mustard and the macaroni and cheese with honey pepper chicken strips (taking advantage of that late night happy hour). Service was fast and friendly. We apologized for coming in so late to close but the gentleman taking care of us assured us it was no problem and could relate to the struggle of nothing else being open at this time. Food came out hot and fresh. I mean it's Applebees so let's not get our expectations too high here but it was good. The wonton chicken tacos are surprisingly tasty- would definitely recommend. Breadsticks were soft and pleasantly salty. Husband said the honey pepper chicken and mac and cheese was really sweet because of the sauce, so maybe proceed with caution on that one. We were sat down by the host, she was nice. Our waitress came to bring us water and take our order. We order the appetizer combo. She went to put the order in and came back to take our lunch order. So we waited for about 25-30 mins and i finally had to ask her if our appetizer was coming. She responded with its on its way. 10 mins later appetizer finally showed up. And asked her for some little plates . After that we never saw her again. Appetizer consisted of spinach dip which had old, spoiled-sour, parmesan cheese and everything was cold to lukewarm warm. One of the Managers came by to tell us our food was on its way . After about 20 mins we got our main course. It was probably the worse food ever tasted and had. All of our meals seem to be expired by ages. Probably left underneath a warmer that was barely working. Because the waitress ghosted us I had to get up and tell the manager to get my ticket to pay and told him that the food was not good. Consistently overpriced, overrated and underwhelming! Realizing that this is a chain restaurant, the food is uniformly mediocre to terrible. A 'steak' dinner serves up a small, rather tasteless, portion of, probably, table grade beef. It comes with one vegetable... I usually order broccoli. The alcoholic beverages are always too sweet with zero liquor. The waitstaff is usually standing around doing nothing, until they seat you. They will try to seat you at a dirty table and then decide to start sweeping while you're waiting for your order. Sweeping the whole section should be done at night, not while people are seated there. Sweeping with customers is dirty and is a social cue telling the customer that they need to leave. My wife and I stopped into town, for the night after a long roadtrip, wanting some good food. This was not the place. They were out of almost everything, the food took 30 minutes to get to us, and the sirloin was not a sirloin. They must of found some scraps of meat to cook up, which were way undercooked. We were excited to be at an Applebees in Roswell! But the hostess was lazy getting tables cleared and people sat, later I found out that she was texting while clearing tables...could be why?! Our server did not write anything down, remembered I wanted a frozen strawberry margarita but forgot my husband wanted a vodka and sprite in his 20 second walk to the computer to enter it. He also took an extremely long time to get to us to order food. Our food took a long time getting to us and then the burgers weren't done correctly. They were not well done and they both had all the veggies on them when we specifically asked both to be plain other than cheese and mine to have Mayo on the side (which it didn't). The server came to us a few minutes later asking if he could just pick off the veggies, to which we said yes but then he walked around the restaurant with them in hand after picking it off. If I could give negative stars, I would. Corporate needs to shut this fiasco down. We came for the UFO Festival and at 8:33 it was the only place we saw close to the Candlewood Suites open. We were told 30 minute wait. We waited much longer than that. At 10:21 we were told our table was ready but there would be no drinks as the bar was closed. My husband waited at the counter for 30 minutes trying to order a drink for us prior to the seating. No service. The place was filthy. Management and staff were blabbing the entire time behind the bar. The police came in to look fir someone and the dingbat hostess tried to stop them. Then tells everyone waiting at the door, "Well that was rude," when they entered anyway. The management then tried to stop them too. What is this place? Do they not want their customers safe? My brother and I ate here 2 nights ago. He had the salmon w/2 sides and I had the Grilled chicken Cesar salad. For my Cesar salad, the romaine lettuce was good but the dressing was very liquid and not thick, not a lot of flavor either. The grilled chicken was good but some of the croutons were very hard. As we were finishing up our meals, a bug crawled across the table and my brother had to squish it. He asked for the manager and a gentleman came to our table, My brother explained to him what had happened and all the manager said was he was sorry and would call the exterminator in the morning. He didn't offer to give us a complimentary dessert, didn't offer to take a few bucks off our bill, nothing. He didn't clean the bug off our table, he did nothing. Very disappointing. Ordered a chicken strip meal for delivery through door dash, the meal came quickly but was incomplete. No fries, no coleslaw, just chicken. No problem, called the store and they said drive over and get what we forgot. Showed up, got my forgotten items, drove back to the hotel, opened the bag and found dried up fries and literally one tablespoon of coleslaw. By the way, no napkins and no utensils. Showed up for dinner on a Sunday evening right around 6. Place was pretty mellow. We were promptly seated and our server immediately greeted us and asked for our drink orders. He was friendly and we received our food as ordered. As far as the food: I mean it's Applebee's. We are a step above fast food here.. so all was well. We visited Applebee's tonight. They were out of everything. No strawberries, no shrimp, no salad dressing, no whatever else we tried to order. This is not as big of a deal as the fact that they did nothing to make it right. If you're out of strawberries then maybe you can offer apple slices instead. If you're out of shrimp, compensate that with steak. If you're out of salad dressing, then offer to cover the cost of my soda as an apology. But the waitress had this attitude like she could do nothing to make our time there nice. We just had to deal with it. She wasn't combative, she was just complacent. There's a lot of places to eat in Roswell, and I thought a chain was a pretty safe bet. We sat at the bar and ordered the happy hour wings and a couple beers. The food came out quick and was warm, but not hot. The sauce was so salty it was hard to eat it. I wound up asking for and eating a side of rolls just to get the taste out of my mouth. The staff was busy and the place seemed pretty touristy, not far from the hotel. It wasn't too loud, and most of the people seemed to be enjoying the food. The fajitas smelled delicious, I regretted not ordering those. Service was mediocre and the quality of the food made it seem overpriced. The parking was plentiful, and business was steady. After a long drive from West Texas to Southeast New Mexico, we decided to stop by Applebee's since its been a year we've visited one and couldn't decide what chain to dine in at. We were quickly seated and our server was very attentive no problems there. The drop off in the star was for my Parmesan Sirloin and Shrimp, the sides were perfect however the steak I ordered well done came out medium rare. Needless to say the manager checked up on us just in time and quickly took my plate to correct the issue. The plate arrived about 10-15 minutes later and steak was well done however the rest of my party just finished their food by that time.
