The ribs were on-point but a little fattier than I remember them (honey BBQ came on the side as requested). Fries were soggy (as they almost always are); I keep hoping they will be better the next time around but am always left feeling the same way . First time at Applebees and couldn't have had a better experience. The food was great, the prices were great, and the service was even more amazing. Our server was Connor and he was just perfect, knew exactly when to come around, was polite and friendly. Our hostess was also great, did not catch her name but she had short cropped gray hair, very nice and sat us down within a minute of arrival. I've never been a huge fan of Applebee's but I do love their nightly drink specials and chicken wonton tacos. This location is conveniently located at i10 & 1604. I usually go and sit at the bar because we are there to watch a game or just have a few drinks and a light meal. Mike is a great bartender! Super attentive and a great conversationalist. They have free wi-fi so I was able to get some work done while my boyfriend watched football. I've never ordered an actual meal here because the appetizers are more than enough to tamper my hunger. read more

I've been coming to this Applebees since moving to SA in 2015. I stumbled upon it when I stayed in the Drury Inn. It's a relatively quiet location which is surprising since it's attached to the hotel... I guess people go there to sleep. Zzz. They just updated their menu and added a few cool items but I couldn't get myself to stray away from my Crispy WonTon App. If you are into the lighter menu the Cedar grilled lemon chicken has been pretty tasty at most of the Applebees I have had it. If you find yourself at this specific location for a mid-day lunch or a solo dinner, I would recommend sitting at the bar. For some reason the table service here has been consistently lacking. (To include my visit today) I personally like it when a server let's you eat and relax without a constant barrage of "Is everything okay?!?" But they cannot let your drink glass get/stay empty and when the food comes out they should at least check on you within the next minute or so. I think Applebees has struggled with attentiveness since moving to their automated order machines at each table. It feels like servers aren't working as hard for a tip and towards the end of your visit it feels like pure abandonment. Okay, rant over. The food still tastes pretty good at this location and has yet to come out cold which is why it gets 3 stars instead of 2. While the bar service is usually pretty good, their table service leaves something to be desired. A-okay if you are looking for a bite to eat while staying at the Drury or passing through on your I-10 road trip. read more

Visited this location during my visit to San Antonio. The appetizers came out at a reasonable time, but unfortunately had no silverware or plates. Finally after approximately 15 minutes we received these items. The meal arrived shortly there after. The other members of the party did enjoy their meals. I however had ordered the all you can eat riblets. The riblets were good, but unfortunately the refills took way to long to receive. The refills on the riblets consisted of just two strips with fries. I would order a refill of riblets as soon as I received an order. Each time it seemed that it took longer and longer. I love Applebees!!! And, they closed the one down near me on 1604 @ Blanco Road area! Their food is good, their prices are EXCELLENT compared to what you are getting, and the service was always friendly and very good. The only complaint most people had was that they had a bar behind where you walked in the door, and they allowed smoking in there, and it the smoke smell just knocked you down when you opened the door! I think that turned a lot of people off. However, when you got to the dining area, you could not smell it. WISH THEY WOULD REOPEN IT! OR ANOTHER ONE IN THAT AREA!! read more

Sent it back, new one came out super rare, set it back came out medium rare, sent it back once again, came back medium in some places, medium rare in others. Avoid this place. Have ordered delivery a few times and orders are always screwed up, despite the detailed order ticket (correctly listed everything we were charged for) sent with the bag of food. Tonight was the last time Applebee's rips us off. Ordered the "2 for $24" which actually starts out as charging $28.89 for this location BEFORE you select any appetizer or your two entrees--most of which you get up-charged for, depending on your selections (anywhere from $1.89 to $6.09 PER ITEM). We ordered boneless Buffalo wings with classic Buffalo sauce and bleu cheese dipping sauce (missing) as our app. Paid extra for 4 additional sauces (additional classic Buffalo sauce, extra-hot Buffalo sauce, an extra bleu cheese dipping sauce and a ranch dipping sauce). The wings were cold, dry and tough and ALL 5 sauces (4 which we paid extra $ for) were missing. Wings were inedible--would not have ordered had we known they'd send them with no sauces or dipping sauces, whether we paid extra $ or not (we did). Also ordered the Fiesta Lime Chicken and paid extra $ for extra Mexi-Ranch sauce on the side. This dish was cold, dried out, tough and inedible. Not only did we not receive the extra $ Mexi-Ranch sauce, but the dish was NOT prepared as described. The chicken had NO "zesty lime sauce" and NO "tangy Mexi-Ranch" sauce "smothered" on it either. All it had on it was cheese. The Pico de Gallo was also missing. Tried to eat a couple bites, but despite attempting to use a steak knife to cut it, the chicken was so dried out and tough, it could not be cut--just ripped off small pieces. Too tough to eat, flavorless without the sauces it was supposed to be prepared with. I hate to waste food and money, but these two items went in the trash. Also ordered a cheeseburger with fries--which also was cold, but correctly left off all veggies as requested. Was dry as there was no way to request mayonnaise on it. In addition to reporting these issues to our delivery service, we called the restaurant and spoke with the manager to make her aware that the food was not prepared as described on their menu, sides were missing, but also the extra sauces we were charged for (5 total) were missing. Her response was a flat, "okay" with an attitude of "I don't give a cr*p," "not my problem," and "too bad for you." She said to let the "third-party vendor" we ordered from know. We had hoped, as a manager, she would want to know so as to have an opportunity to identify/address/correct the problems, including the discrepancy between their detailed order ticket and what was improperly prepared and extra charge items missing from our delivery. Where should I start...so I placed an online order and they have "curbside to go". I arrive at 7pm and sit in the designated spot for to go orders. After about 10 minutes, I still haven't received my food. I go inside and they direct me to the bar where I see bagged food. I get my order,pay and walk out. I get home to my food.
