Great service and good food as usual. We spent 3 hours ordering food and drinks as usual while watching our 9th World Cup game here. Arriving here during a Saturday evening in late March, we decided on eating here since Pluckers was crowded. Upon entering, we were worried that we'd meet the same fate as before as all the tables were filled and there was about 20-25 people in front of us. As an east coaster, I enjoy anything by Goose Island as they serve several types of beer where I used to live back in Northern VA. So I was happy sipping on it. The girlfriend enjoyed the margarita as it had the right amount of spice. She also mentioned she could hardly taste the booze in it; while this might be a complaint with some patrons, she prefers her cocktail this way. As for food, I decided on the Ultimate Burger with a side of broccoli and she ordered the Crispy Chicken sandwich with fries. The burger is fine; pretty tasty even. But the broccoli, definitely raw with only a brush of butter. It's obvious they did not microwave it in the bag long enough. We ordered a second side of broccoli; and same thing; raw with a slight butter glaze. They also gave me some fries with my burger; I'm not complaining about free fries but kind of odd they were thrown on the plate. Pretty rookie move there. Meanwhile, the crispy chicken sandwich was basic; good texture but not much flavor; could use more spices and flavors in the batter. Both dishes are pretty big so we were stuffed afterwards. The shrimp dish I ordered was scattered in the container not very pretty as far as presentation the lettuce it was sitting on was withered maybe that's how it's supposed to be. Visited here for a going away party for a coworker. We had a party of about 50 plus people, and they accommodated us very nicely. For my lunch I ordered the sweet heat fried chicken. I got mine with a side of gravy and French fries. I got my food in great time. Considering the size of our group and the chaos of orders going on and all different times, I was impressed. The chicken was delicious. Very juicy, and the breading was perfect. There was a slight hint of heat to it, but it was not overpowering. Very delicious. I would recommend this place for sure. One of my dearest friends who I sadly hadn't seen in years invited me here as I was passing through en route back to Houston. My friend told me it's a town fave for watching sports events. The place is super spacious inside and out and dog friendly which was perfect since I had my sweet fur child with me. They even have a separate dog menu and will keep your pup's water bowl full while you're dining. Theres also a good amount of grassy area around/near the restaurant for walking your dog if needed and they have doggy baggy stations for your clean up. Art portraits of every rockstar you can think of decorate the walls of the place. Very cool, hip and fun. The food was delicious. My friend ordered some stuffed jalapenos as our appetizers. Holy moly the first one was so spicy. I was a little scared to eat another but they were so delicious I had to. Luckily all subsequent bites weren't nearly as spicy. My friend had a redfish entree and I had a 6 oz steak with 2 sides. We both ordered their yummy iced coffee concoction. Our servers Lizzie and Lauren were friendly and perfect. Lizzie was training Lauren since Lauren was a newbie ( I may have their names reversed). The food and drinks took forever to come out. We never got our waters. Luckily, some of the parents packed their own water bottles. Had to repeat our requests numerous times to the point where we just gave up on some of them. Two people ordered the exact same dish, but one person didn't get the coleslaw. When it was brought up, they got a sauce container portion, which we had to chuckle about. The outside was OK with the inside was dry, not chewy as I would've expected. The mustard sauce was tasty, but the cheese sauce had an odd texture. The nachos and cheese were pretty much as expected. The bruschetta was excellent. I would definitely order that again. 5/5 - The drinks were fantastic! I ordered Smoke on the Water, which was incredible to see and a delight to drink. My friend and I ate dinner one night after work on a Wednesday. The place was packed and lively. Maddy was our server and she was great. Maddy took care of all of our needs and had a good sense of humor. We received excellent customer service. I got the Nashville hot chicken salad and it was delicious. The chicken was tender and had a nice touch of heat to it. The only thing I would change is adding more avocado to the dish. The atmosphere was nice and the decor was very appealing for any fan of rock music. I highly recommend Rock and Brews for lunch or dinner. You can make a reservation in advance as well. Our second time here...it has a fun, cool vibe, with enclosed patio seating. The patio is dog friendly and there's a nice stage where the bands and DJs set up. They tell us you can call and reserve seating, which is helpful if you're coming for one of their events. Our servers both times were awesome. Ari was our server and she made great suggestions for lunch and drinks. She is adorable! I got the suggested Island Shrimp Tacos and they are amazing! They are served with large shrimp, honey sriracha sauce, mango salsa, sriracha ranch and avocado. I did ask for an additional side of the sriracha ranch. I stopped in recently for my first visit to Rock & Brews to enjoy happy hour with some friends. It was a gorgeous spring day and perfect patio weather so that's where we opted to sit (along with most everyone else visiting Rock & Brews this particular Monday) The patio was cute and the ambience chill. It's where most people was seated so it was very lively during the happy hour time we were there. Note that happy hour food pricing and alcohol pricing end at two separate (and different times). Something we wish our server would have informed us of before we went to order food from the happy hour menu. Just one example of an area where service was lacking. Our server was super sweet but seemed to either be overwhelmed with other tables or duties as we would go for loooooong stretches without seeing her and even had to order at the bar at one point to get our drinks since we hadn't seen her in like 20 minutes. For my entree I went with the sweet heat fried chicken which featured two generous portions of fried boneless chicken breasts. The seasoning used on the chicken was more sweet and tangy than sweet heat but it was still tasty. Overall, I don't know that I'll be rushing back to Rock & Brews. It has to be an exceptional spot to make me brave the 1604 and UTSA traffic coming from the downtown area and I can't say that my first impression of this spot is worth that. read more

We had a seminar today at the Embassy Suites by Hilton San Antonio Landmark, which is very close to @rockandbrews. We decided to go there for lunch. They had lunch specials, which were filling and tasty. Dad had the half-turkey BLT sandwich and Salad. Hubby had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with fries. I had the Oklahoma Smash Burger with sweet potato fries. We told McKenzie that we had to head back pretty quickly and the food came out fast. This is a good spot for happy hour too! read more

Rock n Brews was fantastic. I didn't expect much after a long wait. The place was packed and we sat at our table for 20 minutes before we asked a young lady if she was our server. She said she was not but took us anyway. She was outstanding! None of our party had been there before. Her name was Drez, she gave us her opinion on lots of the dishes and we all ordered based on what she described for the food. The fish tacos, the pizza and the cod. I got the pulled pork and it was so good. Not dry, not thin, a big juicy BBQie, fat piggy sandwich My bestie got the shrimp tacos and she loved them. I have to say the price was also unbelievable. They are now at the top of our list for places to go to try the other food. The kitchen does an exemplary job. Our drinks were consistently refilled and the everything was so tasty. The highlight of this place is the music and fun Rick atmosphere. The restaurant wasn't packed but you could hardly find a server anywhere. Our waitress was nice but seems like most of the staff were off the floor and was difficult to find someone even walking in to be seated there wasn't a hostess and we were there a good 5 mins before two young ladies came walking out of the kitchen together. Sadly the food was not good. The fish was so greasy and batter was over cooked while the fish itself seemed to parts that seemed rare; my fried chicken was so-so, the gravy was thick, was like what I have on my stove an hour after we have had breakfast; and the fries were oily, almost as if they needed to change out the oil because it was too old. I typically give places a second chance but if we go back it would be for beer only. I do hope they get better and work on the menu read more

My friends and I were looking for a sports bar or brew pub to recently watch some March Madness basketball games, and we came across Rock & Brews, at a convenient location near where we were planning to be. We figured we had a few hours to watch at least one game in its entirely so we sat down on a weekend afternoon for some appetizers and eventually lunch meals. There were television sets everyone and good rock music in the background. When we arrived, we were quickly greeted by a server Sabrina who did a wonderful job providing us answers to questions and getting us whatever we had requested. Our table ordered two appetizers as we kicked off a basketball game: South X Southwest Egg Rolls (scratch made & hand rolled with roasted chicken, black beans, pepper jack, red peppers, onions, corn, and chipotle ranch) and Mozzarella Marinara Sticks (5 sticks made of whole milk mozzarella and breaded and fried served with house-made marinara sauce). We greatly enjoyed both, which kept us going until our entrees arrived. I ordered the Ultimate Burger, served on a brioche bun with cheddar, iceberg lettuce, tomato (which I left off), caramelized onions, pickles, and thousand island dressing. It was also served with French fries. I could probably have done without the thousand island dressing but the burger was juice and delicious and the fries were better than most places. One of my friends ordered the Extreme Pepperoni Pizza, which house tomato sauce, mozzarella, and PLENTY of pepperoni. She loved it! The pizza was thin-crust pizza and apparently very tasty. We were impressed with all of the food served. The ambiance was a fun one as everything indoors and outdoors including the bathrooms had a rock and roll music theme to it. They have inside and outside seating. Apparently, the founders of Rock & Brews loved Rock 'n' Roll music and craft beers, and they created a restaurant with both of these along with classic comfort food with a unique twist. I think they did a wonderful job with this! They have been around since 2010 and have locations in many states and cities. You will then receive deals and promotions, special offers, and information on when real rock stars are appearing at a particular location. I received a free appetizer just for signing up, and also received a coupon for $10 off $30 or $20 off $50 during the NCAA Men's Basketball National Championship game today.
