I've eaten at El Pollo Loco maybe twice, I think the way everything made is good as in not being greasy, I prefer greasy, but that's a good place to eat and not feel guilty eating after wards. It's a healthy way to eat, and I should go there more often rather than going to eat greasy burgers, chicken , and pizza. Other than the limited menu, and the lack of a breakfast menu, and the fact that they refuse to serve alcohol and upper management, taking away the receipts option to use with the El Pollo Loco app this restaurant does a good job at keeping your fool for a cheap price. Five dollars can't beat it. You have to use the salsa bar to add extra toppings to your order as a cheap way to get full for five dollars. Also, depending on the employee you might get a free drink if they are cool with you getting it. Realistically, the prices of most of the items are ridiculously expensive so you have to use discounts whenever you can't because most people can't afford to pay full price. They also have a free Wi-Fi there as well as free TV to relax to while you are waiting and while you were eating there. The restrooms also need a code to enter it. Ordering online is also a easy process but you still need to go to the salsa bar to add extra sauce because they don't have that as an option on the app. The atmosphere is calm, cool and collected as much as the staff are friendly, but it helps to know what you want already before you enter the restaurant because it makes it easier for them to carry out your order as soon as possible as well as to have your money ready. Overall the place is pretty decent and I would go back again and I still do but they do need a lot of improvements in terms of upgraded restaurant equipment to cook the food faster and to bring back the receipt option for the app. read more

I went into the restaurant with my daughter and granddaughter we stood at the check in and no one ever got my name to check in. Then a couple came into the restaurant and they got checked in and I had to speak up and let them know we were there first. We got seated and sat for about 15minutes and no one ever came to get our drink order just kept passing us up so we left. I do not recommend this restaurant. read more

We used coupons on this visit and every visit lol but it could get pricey without them. We ordered and it was lunchtime but there were very few people there. Are orders came out quick and was just what we were expecting. Ohh the before I finished my lunch I went to order some churros for work and they are cheap so I ordered 6 and paid for them. We had already finished eating and I kept seeing people getting there orders and I was still waiting so I went up to counter and she tells me oh hold on let's see if there are any. She comes back and said a we only have 2 so she asked the cook if they could do more and he said not right now so I asked for my money back and he said can't you wait for them. I told the lady I wanted my money back and she went to ask someone who said hold on I went back to counter and said here's my receipt just give me my money. Yes, this is fast food (in this case: good food, fast). Basic grilled chicken, nice variety of sides (I recommend the black beans, corn, or spanish rice). There are also plenty of sandwiches, burritos, tacos, salads, etc. to choose from too. Lots of healthy options. What really made an impression on me was the service at this location. A+! I was really impressed at how the server (Vicente) went above and beyond for us to provide us with an exceptional experience, in our drive-through order none-the-less. I would highly recommend El Pollo Loco as a solution for a nice take-out meal to go when you don't feel like cooking after a long day of work or chores (or, for dine-in too). read more

You can thank my SO's obsession with Bravo reality tv for my visit to this place. Beloved by the neurotic Jeff Lewis from Flipping Out, El Pollo Loco is a chain of chicken joints in the West and Southwest. I'm a vegetarian, so I can't give a fair review of this place. I had a bean burrito (the beans were probably suspect although I was told they supposedly had no meat). Needless to say I was unimpressed. You see the SO loves El Pollo Regio, a rundown chicken joint chain found mostly in Austin, and while I don't eat food from Regio either, I do sit in amazement at the billowing smoke when we make our way through the drive thru. Inhale (wow that smells really good, too bad there aren't any vegetarian foods cooked on a grill like that). Exhale (Is it wrong that I enjoy the smell of this so much?). There's no billowing smoke at El Pollo Loco. SO says the chicken here is good but the sides leave something to be desired and if one were left with last chicken restaurant on earth choice it would be Regio, hands down. read more

So, I paid almost $8 for a meal combo and this supposed 'double decker' burrito I was expecting a monster turned out to be just a regular tiny burrito....I waited almost 15 minutes for this guy to make it and it turned out to be small. The .89 cents burrito I mentioned above I can easily get at Taco Bell and it is much tastier and you get more for your money just to give you an idea of what Pollo Loco is like. Finally a girl tells the manager we are there, she tells us to drive up. With attitude she says they only have certain items left and is looking at us like we are bothering her. This was the worst Pollo Loco I have ever been to. The workers were very disrespectful and rude. When they gave me my order wrong they got mad that I went up and told them it was wrong. The worker ask if I had wanted to take out the pico de gallo or if I wanted a new one. She proceeded to throw things around, mumbling under her breath, and being rude all around. She threw ranch at me and then when I asked her for the one that came with the salad she got mad and turned her back on me.
