The last two times have been the worst Applebees I have ever had. First time ordered a Chicken Quesadilla and Grilled Chicken Salad. Quesadilla was terribly... almost like it was deep fried... so greasy I wouldn't give it to the dog. Second time, ordered grilled chicken wrap... same thing, so greasy appeared to be deep fried. Zero stars if possible. Only good thing about the visit the other day was being seated very quickly. It was a group of 5 of us including a child. Ordered our drinks as normal and the server dropped a cup of cold water with lemon on me. Then few minutes later ordered appetizers and only got one appetizer brought back to our table within 5 minutes (which we ordered 2 apps). Took 30+ minutes to get the main dishes. My gf steak was well done and she ordered it medium rare. I got a fiesta lime chicken and it was as cold. My ex wife got bone in wings and they were 100% cold. Her bf got cheeseburger sliders and they were cold and the child got a kids pizza and it was very doughy. So eventually we got the manager and she tried to give us a $50 gift card and split the bill in half (which was all terrible). And we finally got the appetizer sampler at the very end of the night. I walk in with my family and the host was giving us dirty looks. Then we sit down and people walked past us and didn't take our orders or said they were be with us. We waited 10 mins and they proceeded to ignore us. I felt like I was being profiled and left because that's no okay and definitely will never go there again. read more

My granddaughter and I went to Applebees on 9/27/2025 around 630pm. After being seated, we ordered riblets. When they arrived the ribs looked like hunks of meat. Looking closely, it was mostly fat, more meat than usually given and some of the meat without bones like regular riblets. I asked them why was the meat so fatty and the server stated that was the meat they were sent. I barely touched the meat, the mashed potatoes was tasteless, watery tasting molded mush. it had a watered down taste, the cole slaw was decent. I would never return, it was not decent food to serve to anyone. Afterwards my stomach continued to churn. I do not recommend . If I could give this place zero stars I would, After waiting 30 minutes to be seated which was fine once seated we waited 10 minutes for a server to come to us, once drinks were received and appetizer was put in 10 minutes later drinks needed refilled and waited 20 more minutes for refills (server never checked on us at all was to busy at the bar, after ordering food we sat there for AN HOUR waiting on food several families that sat AFTER us got their food BEFORE us (mind u we ordered before they even sat down) then when it was time to pay I needed to pay half cash half card server walked past us 4 times completely ignoring us even tho we called her name several times, also burger was ice cold fries were on the verge of being cold and the shrimp in one of our dinners was WAY under cooked, do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to eat cause this place ain't it, service is horrible, food is horrible just find somewhere else to eat read more

I popped into Applebee's on yesterday evening just to catch up and have drinks with my friend. We were greeted by the host as we walked in. We grabbed a seat at the bar. The bartender was hella cool. He kept the drinks coming, engaged with other guests at the bar and found his way in and out of conversations happening around him. I didn't order food but from the looks of people digging into plates around me - Everything is good here. Applebee's is located off the highway and shares a parking lot with Red Lobster, Big Lots and Walmart. I'm not local to this area but it seems this is a one stop shop! If you're in Statesville stop by the bar and see Dre. You are guaranteed to have great drinks and an awesome experience! read more

We placed an online order on a Thursday night around 6. It said it would be ready at 6:16. My husband went to pick it up. Almost 7 it was finally ready. Then when we got home we realized the mozeralla sticks we paid for weren't even in there! The food wasn't bad. The fries were a little soggy but everything except my sons steak was ok. It was very tough. For $91 dollars worth of food plus tip it just wasn't worth it. Disappointing. read more

I can't make it to the food review. It took so long just to get seated after the servers standing in the corner rolled their eyes when we entered and ducked back into the kitchen area. Came by this evening for the endless wings and fries.... Food was good- not great but good. Service on the other hand- seriously not impressive. Our server may have been new- seemed to be in a hurry. Hadn't even gotten seated and asked if we were ready to order.... Another person- not sure if she was a manager or not- wore a wrinkled flannel shirt and she had the most unhappy look on her face as she moved around the restaurant. Very unfriendly atmosphere. Cleanliness is not high on their list of priorities. Pictures were taken of the wall, window blind and booth where we sat. Pretty obvious that cleaning was lacking. It certainly was not a busy evening. Less than half the tables were occupied. Unfortunately, as I said - the food was good, but the service and the attention to detail in the store leaves much to be desired. No smiles or banter from the servers- everyone just mulling about going thru the motions. Applebee's certainly missed the mark this evening. Gotta step up your game Applebee's. This was my first visit to this location. Applebee's in the past experiences has not been the best. But this experience at this location in Statesville was excellent! The service was quick, polite and professional. The manger made her rounds to check on us and ask how the experience was. Looked like good floor control of all their crew. The food was served hot and appealing. Taste was absolutely great for a low calorie meal. Cost of the selections was competitive with other similar establishments in the area. Location is good. Restrooms were clean and well supplied. Server was great and very polite. Good climate control. Not too hot and not too cool. Overall great experience! I would recommend this location. We arrived 430ish on a Saturday afternoon. July 30, 2018; 19:33; we were seated right away. Overall about 15 customers at this time. The server was polite, funny and smiling. Overall my experience is consistent with my experience a year ago. Very pleased with my experience today. read more

I ordered wonton tacos with no cilantro when I got the wonton tacos it had cilantro all over it. I sent it back and they sent back the same wonton tacos I had all they did was scrap off the cilantro and sent them back to me so then I asked the waitress and she lied and she trowed the other wonton tacos and you could plainly see that they was the same wonton tacos that I had before then I asked for the manager and he even lied to me and said that it's the coleslaw with cilantro I have been coming to eat at Applebee's since it's been open and I have eaten there coleslaw many many times and it has never had cilantro in it and sadly to say the Applebee's in Statesville NC has gone to shit and now I have lost my favorite place to eat they just need to shut this Applebee's down it's gone down so much read more

Horrible food! My shrimp looked raw and my daughter's cheeseburger was definitely raw. The burger was ordered well done. Told waitress about the burger and was still charged full price. Never again Applebee's. Yuck! read more

Much improved emphasis on service. Been awhile since I have dined in an Applebee's including this one. Must say it's a big improvement from the last time. When I walked in, I was immediately surprised by the atmosphere. Very clean and crisp, well lit and they did a great job capturing the local community in their pictures and murals. Great job on that one. I was promptly seated and my server introduced himself and then asked for my name. First time I can recall this happening but every time thereafter, he address me by name when he came to my table. Nice touch and it did create a better relationship between server and diner. Menu has been revamped since the last time I was here. The particular menu I had needed to be replaced because it was beginning to come apart at the spine. Looking over the menu, I chose the Triple Hog Dare along with French Fries. The Triple Hog Dare is pulled pork, ham and bacon with onion rings and sauce on Ciabatta. Interesting combination but did not work well for me. The ham did not compliment the pulled pork nor the bacon and the sauce was more like a sweet and sour sauce with a little heat. Not bad but not something I would order again. The French Fries were great. Another point, when I was leaving, my server chased me into the parking lot. I had left my phone on the table. This place gets great marks for service and atmosphere. Will have to try something a bit different next time but in the meantime, it's worth you time to give it a try. read more

Apps were good but those aren't really hard to mess up. Our server was good but the meals were just subpar. We got the new bowls and they tasted like they came out of a frozen meal package and my wife's chicken on the southwest bowl was burnt. Not to impressed. read more

the service and quality has gone down slowly and dropped off the end. We ordered only appetizers, as their apps are one of the only good things. we got the classic combo and extra wings. we ordered our drinks and then waited 15 minutes for them (after having to ask the server to get them). They weren't refilled again for the hour and a half we were there. We waited another 20 minutes for our food which was all cold. all except for the marinara sauce. this isn't the first time we've received cold food. so we let the server know and they "comped" our classic combo. but then they charged us for two things of wings after bringing more out to compensate for the cold food. poor service overall to be quite honest. dont let them "comp" anything. Garbage rude ass bartender (not Dre some girl). Brought a child into the kitchen which to me is a major health violation correct me if I'm wrong. Treated me like a piece of trash for asking alcohol prices which are not listed. Proceeded to ignore me for her friend and walked by my card on the bar after clearly telling her I wanted to check out. I know Applebees doesn't care about their reputation because it's so trashy to start with but I never have a bad experience with select servers bartenders. Do Not Go Here!!!!! We had the absolutely worst experience. They didn't apologize, nothing!! This was only a take out order on their app. Placed an order for 3 drinks and 4 dinners, nothing crazy, no crazy substitutions. The app states 30 mins, we did not get our food until almost 9:30pm. After sitting for over 20mins, they forgot we were there, why we were there, and what we ordered. Honestly I think the order was never dropped. We were told someone picked up our order with the same name. The name isn't common, but whatever. Drinks were watered down, steak overcooked, burger had a rubbery, gummy texture, chicken tenders tasted like it was cold and tough to chew. No compensation, no sorry, we were treated like an inconvenience. We placed the order from the car, only 1 person walked out with a tiny bag, clearly not our order. It was a slow Tuesday night, not crowded at all. Ignored by even the manager, whose was busy doing nothing. To top it off, they almost for forgot one of the entrees. The service was terrible, there was no wait. No excuse for poor service from the get go! The servers had no idea where to deliver the food. Our order was quite simple, 4 bacon cheeseburgers. We got two served with cold French fries and the other two served 10 minutes later, burgers and fries were cold. Had to beg for condiments and it took forever.. Tried to check out with table kiosk and it locked up. Never again! This will discourage us from ever doing Applebee's again. And the Brioche buns were so stale they just crumbled. Haven't eaten here in quite a few years but wanted something different tonight so...ordered my old favorite, Fiesta Lime chicken. I received a microwaved TV dinner with half a piece of chicken breast that was probably left over from yesterday. Too tough to cut, nasty tortilla chips, and pico that was so warm I assume it was microwaved along with the rest. Disgusting and shameful. Im never one to leave reviews but this Is just wrong. This place is a hit and miss when it comes to your order. Their mixed drinks don't really have alcohol in it. So you're paying for technically a fruit punch drink or so. The only reason I am giving one star is because I have to. My family has eaten here the past two Saturdays. Both times the fries were somehow over cooked yet cold. The steaks were mixed up on the plates. The mash potatoes were cold. The onion rings were obviously cooked like the fries. Not to mention the server spilled drink in my sons lap. We did speak to the manager about the condition of the fries and overall service and he didn't seem to care. He did discount $10 off the $90 tab. When only the entrees were edible. The mixed drinks were good. That's about all. Overall save your money and drive to another town if you want Applebees. read more

One of the worst experiences ever! Now I remember why we haven't been back to the particular Applebee's in years. First we waited an hour for our food, then there was a nasty hair in my $13 salad that had to go back. Took them an extra 30 minutes to get my food back which I asked for them to make it to-go because my family had finished eating. I really think they just rearranged the salad and put it in a to-go box. I threw it away when I got home. It was comped, but we had to ask several times for the kids desserts. Our waiter was very busy flirting with a lady at the bar so he didn't have time to refill our drinks. Will never go back! read more

As we all know these type of restaurant chains are pretty much standard. Menus and alcohol selection is basically the same. The only thing that makes the difference is the people. The hostess, the waitress, the bar tender and the cooks. All of them play a key roll during the meal/drink experience. In this occasion I ordered a veggie patch pizza as I usually do. It is not in the menu but they still have the ingredients to make. VPP was great as always. It is very hard to mess one up. The attention from the waitress was superb. And I don't think it was from the lack other customers. At this particular location I recommend Danica and Cheyenne. Both greeted and served with a smile and excellent attitude. so I normally do not post reviews but after last night experience here everyone needs to know, 1st when you walk in the hostess got on her phone as soon as we walked in, she the. asked how many we told her 7. she said kay are you waiting inside or outside? I had to ask her how long the wait was, she then had to go get a manager and ask her, okay so we waited 10 mins for I really am not sure what, as it was not busy. we get seated keep in mind we have 7 people.. at a table of 6 across a table of 4 she said y'all have these 2 tables, I was like okay cool. are y'all going to put them together, she just looked at me and said y'all have these 2 tables. okayyyy waitress came and she was AWSOME. we orders drinks the Dracula juice that was spouse to be red and white, it was brown/purple we just sent it back... we could hear the bartender telling people at the bar she don't give a f*** about getting the floor there drinks only until everyone at the bar has there's.. food wasn't the best. it was just a ratchet atmosphere. and I waited tables for a long time and if we ever acted how some of the managers, wait staff and other staff acted we would have been fired. read more
