This place sucks, as soon as you walk in there is long faces. Guy at the front tried to sit us at a dirty table and got mad when we told him it was dirty. The waitress never introduced herself. We placed an order for pickup this evening at 7:33. The App informed us it would be ready at 7:53. I walked into the restaurant around 8:10 and saw the Togo area was pretty busy and overheard the lady at the register say checks were backed up about an hour, so I went back to the vehicle to wait a while Longer. I called in around 8:40 after we still hadn't heard anything and whoever answered immediately said that orders would take an hour. After I said we had waited an hour and wanted to check on the status she said she had no idea if the order was ready or not and that I would have to come In and talk to the Togo person. She was very rude. We finally got the food around 8:45 after I went in and checked. The burger was overcooked , but overall food was decent, but the service was terrible read more

Been a while since I've been to an Applebees but glad I paid them a visit. They have a value meal thing going on at lunch and I got an excellent Club Sandwich and Fries for a great price. Add prompt and friendly staff and you have a choice place to get lunch. It won't be so long next time. read more

Wonderful service this afternoon. Had the 1/2 appetizers, mozzarella sticks and the pretzel sticks. Then had the 6.99 pick 2, grilled cheese and tomato basil soup. Everything was tasty. This was my first time back at Applebees since I was 9, and it was pleasantly great. read more

It has your basic Applebees food. The only problem is that if you don't have time to wait 40 minutes for someone to even give you your drink, you best not come. Erin, our waiter. Was the best. Happy Halloween! Do you like haunted houses? Do you enjoy the spirit of Halloween? Then this Applebees is the place to be! Not only did we enjoy a scary meal, we also got to witness a freak show by the manager and her schizophrenic waitress who was walking around having a full conversation with herself and laughing hysterically while the manager conducted insanely hard to witness interviews. Seemed a bit racist as I witnessed a elderly Asian staff inquiring about previous tips that she was owed, which the manager blatantly ignored. It got even more fun and scary when I realized the manager had a child, who served as a nice spooky decor, as he ran his ranch filled chicken wing fingers through his long, knotted, greasy hair which then pasted to his forehead. Service was very fast as it only took 40 mins to get our food, considering we were the only customers. This place got extremely scary, when we got our check!!! I do want to add that the waiter that we did have, who I forget his name, due to no name tag, was solid overall, easy going, friendly, and attentive! Also hinted towards us how sketchy the place is ran. Will never return, there are plenty better spots to eat, should have never pulled in when I realized the parking lot was empty. read more

When I walked in the restaurant had a fowl smell inside of it. Not only that it had to be 75+ in there I was sweating the whole time I ordered chicken Alfredo, cheese sticks, Long Island and a shark bowl. The only thing that was good was the cheese sticks. The chicken Alfredo sauce and noodles were ok. The chicken was absolutely horrible it tasted like canned chicken that had no seasoning. The Long Island was ok but the shark bowl tasted like it had no alcohol in it. It also had a ton of ice chunks in it and needed to be blended longer. Went a couple weeks ago on a Friday for half off apps after 9pm. I called on Thursday to confirm they still have that promotion and what hours it was available. They said yes after 9. When we got there on Friday our server told us that promotion ended the previous week. That was annoying but we stayed anyway. The food was decent, especially the pretzel and beer cheese but our server didn't asks if i wanted a refill til we were already done with our food, and on top of that it took forever to get our check. read more

For those of you who don't know her, she was dressed like a bumble bee on this visit, her suit was white + yellow + black. When Ms Simonton talks, people listen, and this was the low-down on her Applebee's experience today: - The Rasberry Tea wasn't that great today, tasted somewhat flat, didn't quench my thirst. (I'm wondering isn't tea usually "flat"?) - The Onion Soup was good - as usual - as it should be! - The Spinach Salad w/ grilled shrimp was excellent! It was tasty and she would get it again for sure! - The service was okay, the waitress was a young girl, she forgot that they had ordered an appetizer and didn't bring it out till afterwards. Not too kosher...kinda defeats the meaning of an appetizer, doesn't it? - Speaking of which - - the Spinach Artichoke Dip lacked flavor - it was okay, maybe the waitress shoulda just not brought it out after all. Overall she says it was a 3-star experience, and she's quite happy to be the first in Temple, TX to put up a review on Yelp for Applebee's. But the $64,000 question here is: Will she go back again? The CLIP Zen Master says: "We'll See" PS: Mrs. King says go for the Pecan Crusted Chicken Salad - she says it's the best (blue cheese crumbles, dried cranberries, roasted pecans, romain lettuce, etc...). Food tasted great good and service was ok. But we told them of a allergy to citrus and we still got salmon with lemon. Then after remaking salmon they charged us for 3 dinner instead of 2. 1 appetizer never came but we were not charged for it. Nice manger did make the bill right. read more

Please note, this it's not a commentary on all Applebee's, just the one in Temple, TX. This is by far the worst Applebee's I have been to. If mgmt is reading this, the biggest problem is a lack of pride in work. We went to the bar for take out. The slovenly dressed bartender took as little pride in her work as she did her appearance. When we say down, she proceeded to lay down dirty napkins for our drinks. I informed her we would not be wasting in and she removed the napkins. My order was simple, a bowl of chicken tortilla soup and a house salad. The soup clearly was at the bottom of the container and had sat like that for hours. The soup was mush. Tortillas were soggy. To add insult to injury, the container was only half full of this mush. No pride. Who would look at that and say, they will enjoy this! It want fit for a dog. The salad was ok, but the container of dressing want even a quarter full. So I'm wafting chicken mush soup and dry salad at $10. I used to work at Applebee's as a waiter, and I would NEVER serve food or drink like this. Shame on you, Applebee's Temple! read more

Really think that I need to just come here for drinks and nothing else. The food is okay, but nothing exciting. The place is rather mundane. Was rather disappointed at the fact that the menus were stuck together from food. Even when the place is not busy, the servers are not readily available when you need them. The big screen tv's are a nice touch, but get those mobile speaker stations so people can hear the game instead of wondering what's being said. Guarantee people will want to stay longer and order more if they can get excited about the game. EDIT- I have lowered this review from 3 stars to 2. I'm anything but prudish and closed minded, but servers having conversations with customers talking about certain fetishes they like to live out in the bedroom to where everyone can hear it is rather disrespectful to those that bring their families here. Took 20 min to receive our drinks, 50 min to receive our food and 2 members of our parties didn't receive their food until the hr 45 min mark. Our visit tonight was disappointing. We order chips aNd salsa and it was stale. My husband ordered riblets and they wEre undercooked. Our waiter was ok. Ordered online for curbside pick up. The website and the app both say they do curbside pickup until midnight. I pull up, wait ten minutes outside n the rain and the guy just looks at me through the window. No one comes out and says anything to me. The website asks for your vehicle make and model when your ordering so they can know when your there and even ask for your phone number so they can text u when your order is ready. So I call the number on the sign and tell the manager that I've been sitting outside and no one has come, he tells me that they don't do curbside pickup after 9. Which is the opposite of what the automated voice says when u call in as well as the website and the app. He tells me that i have to come into the bar to get my food. That no one will bring it out to me. I get inside and my food is ready, already been sitting there bagged yet no one has texted me like the website says they will do... Zero star if possible! This place is horrible!!! Been waiting here for an hour and still haven't got our table. I'm looking around and I see the other customers still waiting for their orders! We are a party of 10 and was asking for 2 separate tables/booth since alot of other tables were vacant. They wouldn't do that for us and insisted we seat in a party table since we came in as a group. Bad and long service!!! Don't come to this restaurant, go somewhere else especially if you are hungry because this place will make you wait forever!!!! Food is food here, it's Applebee's so you know what you are getting. However, the staff is EXCEPTIONAL. I have been in temple on and off for the past few months for work and have truly made it my second home. I have been to many Applebee's but this one has one thing that will keep it at 2 star - bad service. The personnel here are un-attentive and it takes forever to order food. Getting your food after it is ordered takes an additional eternity. The "fast to order food" on the back of the menu is guaranteed to come out in 12 minutes or less or "your food is free". My order came out 20 minutes and afterwards the waiter was no where to be found in this mediocre establishment. read more

I just picked up a meal curbside here at Applebee's. I ordered a sirloin steak topped with shrimp. I got home and arranged my meal on a dinner plate. I was totally blown away with the sheer perfection of my meal. I've eaten at several high end steakhouses in Southern California and Vegas and I can honestly say that my steak was on par with some of the best I've ever had. If I could give this place a negative star I would. Worst service we've Ever experienced. Complained to the "manager" that looks like she's barely out of high school and still nothing was done. My 80 yr old granny just moved here so this was our 1st experience at this location and it's SHIT. Our table waited 10mins before anyone even came over to ask us our drink order AFTER I spoke w said manager. After that 1/2 the table got their food- wrong, cold, and I didn't get mine at all.
