My meal was abysmal. An "Asian" salad with virtually no lettuce, a ton of those dry crunchy "noodles" and the dressing was NOT Asian inspired in any way, more like straight up coleslaw dressing. I ate about a quarter of it. My daughter liked her fried shrimp though, so that was something. The service was lackluster and very impersonal despite the restaurant being nearly empty. It would be a zero if I could. Friday night, two local graduations, bike week, and what does the manager do but short staff the restaurant. A 45 minute wait with 28 tables empty. Been here 20 minutes already and they have seated NO one. 4 tables have left and the wait staff are hanging around the waitress station chit chatting. Stay away!!!!! read more

My wife and I went to this restaurant before the movies. We arrived at 5:10 PM to eat before our movie started at 7:10. The restaurant was nearly empty and we were were sat next to a family of four, at a table for 6, and we then moved to the bar, where employee's just stared at us and didn't serve anything. My first visit at Appleby's ever. The waitress Melissa took good care of us. I tried a pork chop with scampi on top together with fries and broccoli. Thursday date night. We're told it would be a 25 min wait. Restaurant had maybe 8 tables. When finally seated, waitress said kitchen had a high volume of Door dash orders. Patrons were being turned away due to an empty restaurant and not wanting to wait. Food was at best bar food and not hot. Waitress was attentive and did a great job, but having only one table makes it easy to give great service. Attempted to have dinner 430 pm ish on 4-8-24. Super quiet time. Walked in and asked if we could sit at a high top.. Immediate response was I don't have a server for that section. She kept staring at her floorplan seating chart. I said please not again .. I have been told we can sit where we want please get your manager . No it's not that she replied I just have to see if I have someone that will wait on you in that section ( right beside the bar mind you) Again I reiterated as she walked away and vanished into the Kitchen. A couple in there 80s were shocked and said what you can sit where you want ?? They told me that they have never been ALLOWED to sit where they want. Odd as Management and myself have had this discussion and Management has told me that if they are open you can sit anywhere anytime. Watching for the return of the hostess as we watched her chatting with someone that popped their head out of the kitchen and talking and looking our way we decided that this will not be good. A major discussion to see if they would serve us at a high top table next to the Bar.. Place was almost dead. Guess they don't want customers. NEVER AGAIN. I really felt bad for the couple in their 80s as they were quite upset that they had been told they can't sit where they want and probably many times. I hope they left behind us. read more

Dying good in the neighborhood: Just ate at Applebee's in Tilton for the last time this year. The server was excellent but unless you want a heapin' helpin' of COVID 19 with your burger and fries, you may want to eat elsewhere. Shortly before we left, a party was seated no more than three feet from us and we watched (from a distance, fortunately) as the bartender kept slipping off her mask to chat with her customers. As a vegetarian, I DO NOT recommend going to any Applebee's chains. The food is not worth the price, it honestly tasted like microwaved TV dinner. I was told by the waitress ANY pasta dish could be vegetarian. I then proceeded to ask for the Mac and cheese, and was told it was not. So, I went with the four cheese penne. Pasta was overcooked and gummy, I couldn't take more than one bite, my appetite was completely lost. First time I have ever had to turn down food from a restaurant. Horrible experience... went in late afternoon, the restaurant was busy, but not packed. Didn't wait at all for a table. My mom and I ordered off their 2/$20 menu. It felt like things were taking awhile, when the waitress came to apologize for the wait and the manager would take the appetizer off the bill. Mistakes happen, no big deal. After we were done the appetizer, several tables around us, that arrived well after us, began getting their food. One table waited less than 10 minutes for their whole meal while we're sitting there still without our meals. When our food came (a solid 25 minutes) after we were done with our appetizer, I told the waitress we were frustrated as we'd been waiting an awfully long time while people who were seated after us were eating. She told us the kitchen was backed up... to which I replied, "For just our table!?" She continued to blame it on the kitchen and said the manager would be out. The food wasn't even hot. The manager was great, apologized, and took the meal off the bill. The waitress on the other hand never came back to the table. It was lucky they have the new electronic screens at the table so we could see the bill. We waited another ten minutes for a check and ended up leaving cash on the table since she hadn't come since she delivered the food. The service gets better and better every time we go. The servers are always nice and attentive to our needs. I did go with a few of my friends and we are fairly young they where not as attentive to us if i come with them. May have something to do with the amount we tip but still fairly good service overall. read more

Disappointing experience. My waitress was very irritated and annoyed. Both my kids ordered kids meals and one came out long before the others did. I got the bourbon chicken and was very disappointed with it. The chicken was dry and not very many onions or mushrooms. My meal did not look very appetizing when it came out. I told my waitress and her response was "I don't know what to tell you, it depends on who's cooking" I don't think I'll bother with this place again primarily because of my waitress response confirms no consistency with the quality of the meal and service so I don't know what I am going to pay for when I go there. My family came to dinner on NewYears day to a rather disappointing experience. Friendly, yet unaware service, climaxed by our waiting for drinks over 15 minutes, finally receiving our meals only to find out they were " out of the 8oz steakes, to be offered a 6 oz with limited options, French fries were stone cold and After 15 minutes received drinks ,only to find out they were out of " milk". This is the second experience we had this " out of the basics" excuse. The server was friendly but made little effort to adjust for meal problems, not to mention. Got here at 5:30, seated right away, ordered by 5:45, still have not received food and it is approaching 6:45. Very crammed seating, small restaurant in general. Not convenient for any sized group. I have never been disappointed. I honestly love the staff here and always love the food. They do very well with the Margaritas too! I have never been disappointed with them. I was at Applebee's to celebrate Mothers Day with my husband, and it was awful!!! We have been to this Applebee's on several occasions, and had a good experience, but tonight was a train wreck. It took almost 45 minutes to get our salads, once they arrived, within 9 minutes our appetizers and entrees were delivered. Not only was that bad, but we had both realized that when taking our order, our server hadn't asked how we wanted them. The result was 2 almost raw steaks... This was a terrible experience and we will probably never give Applebee's another chance... So I wanted to call in a food order as they are one of the only places that's open past 9pm. (Positive) when I called in the order the woman on the phone did an awesome job at hell king pick out what food items to buy. She actually looked and read trough most of the menu for me!! She did a great job at helping me order while I was driving up the highway. When I got there about 13min later I was greeted properly and felt comfortable waiting for my food to be completed. The woman who took my phone order actually waited on me at the bar where you have to pick up your "to go" orders after the dinner rush. I always give a 20%+ tip to all waiters waitresses, as I managed and ran many restaurants and delis. I left with. Giant grin knowing I have food for the night! (Food ordered: 2 for $20 entrees which were chic finger basket and chick cheese sauce on pence, comes with app. Which I chose artichoke dip) I got home about 40min later and found the other entree to be the fiesta chic, which I really do not like, to say the least. I did call and complain, but if anyone from that company monitors social media I hope they attempt the correct action. I would back it up with the receipt, but of course Im an idiot and tossed it at the gas station not realizing I would need it! Oh well. Next I'll order there, but look at food before i drive away with it! The reason for the 3 out of 10 is because that was my only food for the whole day was this Applebee's meal deal thing... I was pretty disappointed. We stopped in about 1:30pm. First they wanted to seat us at the bar even though there were plenty of seats available in the restaurant. When we declined, they reluctantly put us in the main restaurant in a booth. The person I was dining with is a vegetarian, and although most restaurants offer some options for vegetarians, nothing seemed to be meatless on the menu. (It should be called Meat-bee's or Bacon-bee's, as you will see.) No options for substituting veggie patties on burgers and really nothing beyond salad -- leave off the bacon -- was available, but the waitress suggested the chicken mac 'n cheese without the chicken. When it arrived, it was covered with bacon and the server told us the bacon was in the sauce, as well. My friend's salad was OK, though very small and they forgot the dressing. My meal was a little better. I had the Portsmouth clam chowder, which was OK, but there were maybe only one or two clams in it. The salad was very small. The only real highlight was the brownie bite for $1.29 that you could add on to the meal. I won't go back. I'm really disappointed. read more

If I could give this place zero stars- I promise you that I would! I ordered CarSide to go from the app on my phone and specifically ordered special drinks to go with each of my meals. I tipped well- and never received my drinks. After calling the manager I was promised a $15 gift card to be sent to my email- I haven't received a gift card and I have called back 3 times. I've been told each time that I would be receiving it immediately. This may seem petty to some but the frozen lemonades is mostly the only reason I ordered and I was looking forward to enjoying it. And to make it worse my food was cold and given to me 10 minutes after the time I had asked for it to be ready. Absolutely disgusted with this places poor management and empty promises. Went to the tilton my location on Saturday March 9 at Apx. 6 pm had to wait like two minutes for table to be ready sat down and waiter took about 5 minutes to show up we had already decided on drink I got kiwi ice tea and my girl friend got a strawberry lemonade which were not really good we also ordered French onion soup mine was ice cold and the other was look warm I called server by the kiosk on table and no response when the server did show up she already new the issue three other tables around us sent back the soup they did remove the soup from our bill I ordered rack of ribs and my girlfriend ordered the shrimp stir fry now 45 minutes later we still did not have our meals other tables that came in after use were getting there food and leaving our waitress disappeared and did see her for awhile and when she did show up we were told twice it be right out finally after 47 to 52 to minutes I refused the meal asked for manager when she came out was rude not even understanding and had no reason why it took so long I asked to pay for our drinks and she said it was taken care of and we left and went to the 99 and had a great meal that probably why they always have a wait stay away from this location ! read more
