T-Bone Steak and a baked potato side

Great view of the lake if you can get seated in the back or on the patio. This place is upstairs from Cactus Jack's Grill, which also has great views. We sat at the bar so we could talk to the super nice bartender and the regulars sitting nearby. He ordered a T-Bone Steak with a baked potato side and I ordered the Soup & Sticks. His steak was a little overdone but very tasty and my soup and cheesy bread was perfect. We will definitely be back and next time we'll try Cactus Jack's too!

In town for the Zach Brown concert tonight and stopped here for a late lunch. It was an off time so it wasn't very busy and there was no wait. The view on the outside deck was very pretty. Our waitress was friendly . The Greek salad was very good but needed a little more feta cheese and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The burger was cooked great. Just as ordered . The sangrias were good also .

The food was definitely not worth the money they were charging. I've have better food at a diner for a lot less money.

One of the best chicken tenders, especially honey sriracha. Good happy hour deals for appetizers. Service has always been good.

Service was great, especially considering how busy it was. The ladies behind the bar kept things moving! We ordered drinks (excellent Manhattan, btw) and some food. While waiting for the food, we had a nice chat with two locals who have lived here all their lives and that contributed to the fun vibe of the place. You hear about taciturn folks in the Northeast but we had several people talk to us, but then again, maybe we stuck out and everyone could easily tell we weren't local. In any event, it was lovely. The food was good too. Shrimp cocktail was on point but the highlight were the chicken tenders. The portion was gigantic...we were expecting maybe four tenders and there were something like eight! They were fried perfectly too. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside....really well done. As we were leaving, there were people already waiting for tables so this must be a very popular place to eat and based on my experience (friendly environment, great service, terrific food) it's not hard to see why. Definitely check out The Breeze if you're in the area.

We were lucky to arrive without a reservation when we did because it quickly filled up with customers. The place is somewhat small and has an open kitchen concept. Outdoor seating is also available when weather permits. Please note that due to its size, they have only one unisex bathroom available. We started with the Gouda Tot Clam Dip. The picture posted on their website shows six potato tots, yet our serving came with four. It was pleasant and tasty. For my main course, I ordered the Peach Glazed Pork. The dish had a nice presentation. I found the pork to be drier than I would have expected, but it was still edible. I guess I had higher expectations. Despite a few minor disappointments, this is a charming local restaurant that is worth a visit, especially if you're in the area.

Prices were on the higher end but not unreasonable given the quality of food. Our primary disappointment (and the only reason for deducting a star from the rating) was the limited availability of menu items. Two of the items we ordered became unavailable after placing the order, and 2-3 other items we would have ordered in replacement were also not available. One probably needs to dine on the earlier side if wanting to access the full menu.

The staff seemed frantic but they were working very promptly to make sure customers could be seated. I was told that our party of 2 would be about 15-20 mins. It's nice that they can accommodate parties of 2 so easily. There were several large groups, primarily families so it's certainly kid-friendly. They serve up some of the BEST fries! I don't know if our server was new, or if they were understaffed. I also don't know if the cook was new. At the end, I will tell you why I won't eat there again. Let's start with after we were seated it took a good 5 minutes or more before our server showed up. We almost left, but we had gone to El Tequila first only to learn that they are out of business. Darn! (We loved El Tequila! Tell me if you know, if they left the area or what). I should have known not to eat my food when the server thought I had ordered coke though I ordered lemonade! I have never had anyone ever confuse those! I ordered a Mexican omelet and hash browns (because I was really in the mood for Mexican food)! The omelet was good, but there was no seasoning in the ground beef, certainly not taco meat by any stretch of the imagination! I used all my sour cream (which had a lot of water in the container--does sour cream spoil?). And I used all my salsa. It was the only way I could even get an inkling of Mexican flavor. The hash browns were dripping with oil, so I onky had a couple bites of them. Sad! I drank about half my lemonade and asked for a To Go cup, but that never showed up. I waited as long as I could because the cramping started and I told my daughter, "We gotta get home." (I had the runs!) So, no, we won't be going back to Union diner again. Later I remembered this happened to me once before after eating there, but I had blamed it on the eggs. I think now, it must be the oil they use or something.
