Ordered a filet medium rare. It came out medium well, if not well. When I cut into it, the server noticed immediately and asked if she should take it back. Then, she brought it back to the table and told me it was the "lighting." I went to the restroom and heard the chefs lamenting about my complaint saying the steak was perfect. It was not. The manager came out and told me the steak was perfect. They asked me to take it inside to see it under alternative lighting. My wife's steak - smaller and ordered as medium - was red in the center in the outside lighting. Mine was grey. The manager took it from the table because I didn't want a well done filet. She took 30 dollars off the bill, for a fifty-two dollar steak, because my salad and sides were acceptable. Would not return. read more

Outstanding ! From the service to the food. It had been over 5 years since our last visit. It was great then and it's still great. We had a filet and NY sirloin cooked to a perfect medium. Side salads are included and we both had the Caesar. Great flavor and already chopped. The steaks had nice outside sear and the seasoning was on point. I actually preferred my sirloin without the bernaise sauce. Creamy spinach Parmesan and roasted Brussels sprouts had great flavor. Our server Lilly was attentive and efficient. I was so excited to try this place. It was my husband's birthday and it was a beautiful night. We got a table right away, inside, but the view was still beautiful. Our server was very green in the industry, but being in the restaurant business myself I was very aware that he was new and was willing to help him out a little. Poor kid doesn't have the rhythm yet and every table around us was served and out the door before we got our salads. The manager never came over and she knew we were there for 2 hours. Food was finally served and the mac and cheese was black, stuffed mushrooms for our appetizer was 4 small hockey pucks and the haddock was dry and salty. The spot is so great but if you're going to do this type of "fine dining" then don't overwhelm your kitchen. Maybe keep it simple and do something you can handle. $50 steaks might not be what you can do. We wanted to experience the dessert but we wanted to get out of there. Unfortunately I don't think we will ever go there again. I know you're busy enough to not care about this review but you should take it into consideration and figure it out. 1 star only b/c our server Lily was great and tried her best! Sadly the steak was way overcooked from what we ordered. When our server asked how it was, we let her know the steak was medium-well not medium.... She brought it back to the kitchen and then returned stating the chefs said it was cooked "Just right!"! She did not seem comfortable coming back with our overcooked steak -wow chef really? We asked to see the manager and we returned the steak (again) saying it was overcooked and not tasty. She did take the steak off the bill and comped one glass of wine, but would have preferred the chef to remake the steak and not argue with us. Really disappointing! This place is known for its steaks & cakes....my husband ordered the ribeye and he said it was cooked to perfection. I had the stuffed haddock and it was very very hot and didn't seem to cool off for about 30 min but it was good. The not so good was the spotted wine glass for water when we sat down, and the the rancid orange juice in my husbands drink but the waitress was very nice and said yes indeed she tried the OJ and it was bad and she apologized for that immensely. The tables need candles, I'm actually shocked they don't bc it really feels like something is missing. They would do wonders for the ambiance which is great overlooking the lake. Overall a decent experience but for the proves these little things need to spot on. Candles are an easy fix. read more

Beautiful ambiance but food was lack luster. The seafood plate at 72$ was very disappointing. Lobster tail was rubbery/washed out and oysters were warm and not served with any sauce. We had to ask for lemons and Tabasco. Shrimp were the best part but for 72$ we felt robbed. We will be avoiding their seafoods dishes moving forward. read more

Went tonight with 15 of us. 6:15pm reservation. We got sat at 6:00. Alexis was our waitress and she was phenomenal. We got our drinks and meals in a timely manner. Everything was great. The filet was cooked as ordered. The loaded mashed potato was awesome. Alexis recommended the maple old fashioned. Loved it. Will definitely be back. Hoping the next time we go Alexis is still working there. I would ask for her to be our waitress. 10 out of 10. read more

I'm going to begin by stating that this is more than a restaurant, it's an experience. If you're on a tight budget, this may not be your best option. But if you have some discretionary income and want a place where you're sure to have one of the best steaks you'll ever have while enjoying gorgeous lake side views, then you can't do much better than Ledge Water. They have a great variety of side dishes as well and unlike most bougie steak restaurants, your steak (or seafood) dinner includes both a yummy side dish of your choice and a salad. I had the center cut filet with maple butter on the side. I'll be dreaming of that steak until my dying day. My boyfriend had seafood and practically licked his plate. Our friends got the bone in rib eye and the show stealing tomahawk steak. I tried both and they were perfection. The desserts though. At least 20 options including cake slices bigger than your head- so rich and delicious! I've been to plenty of high end expensive restaurants in NYC, Boston, California, Cancun, Miami and Aruba, this was absolutely in my top 5 meals of all times (and we dine out more than we dine at home!). Our server was so friendly, efficient & knowledgeable about all of the dishes. I'm not sure where some of the negative reviews are coming from. 1) This is NOT FAST FOOD and 2) our meal flowed at a completely reasonable and expected pace. Definitely a 10 out of 10 experience. The Ledge Water Steakhouse is a great place for fine dining with a beautiful view of Newfound Lake. Although somewhat pricey, it is worth going for special occasions. The food is very good especially the steaks as one would expect and the service was excellent. read more

After living in Nh for 4 years, I finally made it to the Ledge Water Steak House. I went 3 times in 3 weeks and after 3 straight 5 star experiences, it became evident that sharing the positivity in Yelp was past due. Where to begin? Well, the drive up from the road through the curvy driveway, steel gates, and to the parking lot is memorable to say the least. The walk in is pleasant and the hosts and staff as a whole have been very pleasant and welcoming. My first two times, dining solo, I went to the bar directly. My third time dining, celebrating my fathers birthday, we sat out on the patio. White tablecloths. Gorgeous views of Newfound Lake and the sunset. Cocktails have been super every time. The bartenders know what they're doing and they do it with skill and precision. My parents are martini drinkers - and they were please with both of their drinks and the fact that the dirty ice cubes came in a rocks glass on the side to their martini. Now for the food: I really enjoyed the scallops en bacon appetizer - which is an upscale take on scallops wrapped in bacon, with a delicious light sauce and thick cut bacon. I also enjoyed the anchovies atop my Caesar salad (why don't more places offer this?!) My favorite meal - which takes me back to family dinners at a famous restaurant in Boston Seaport called "Jimmy's Harborside" which closed about 15 years ago after a century in business - is the baked stuff shrimp with lemon sherry sauce. The stuffing is absolutely delectable - the combination of flavors is something I daydream about more often than I'd like to admit. The shrimp are very well sized, and prepared in such a way with the stuffing that simply the action of cutting with a fork and knife puts a smile on my face immediately. Lemon + Stuffing + Shrimp + Sauce = amaaazing flavor. Lastly - I must mention the desserts - which are offered on a hand written menu (a great sign) with dozens of choices to pick from. Slices of cake were the size of my face (not kidding!) and is guaranteed to be even tastier when you have some for leftovers with coffee the next morning ... reminiscing over the amazing dinner from the night before. It's a good thing this restaurant has a great view because there is nothing else special about it. We waited more than an hour from when we finished our salads to when our entrees were served. The waiter apologized a couple of times and clearly wasn't his fault. I was hoping the wait would be worth it. Well, it really wasn't. A giant waste of time. The good: the view is great. The staff were professional and attentive. They needed to be, because the list of the bad is so long: 3.5 hour wait for our entrees, very disappointing food and a significant lack of interest by the management as to any of the issues. It's a shame, because the experience could have been so much better if the owners/management didn't destroy the night by bringing in several large parties at the same time. The food: a prime rib (4 out of 10), an order of scallops on risotto (2 out of 10) and a couple of filets that turned out pretty well (7.5)--however one of those filets came out 30 minutes AFTER the rest of the food arrived so it went home in a box. The bill was expensive and we all went home quite disappointed. Not a word of apology from anyone but our overworked server. Ultimately, if the management doesn't care about your experience at their restaurant, why should you spend your money there? read more

Ok the view is always amazing from the main deck but was very disappointed this time around in the food. Yes quality was good as usual but most of our party (13) got cold or luke warm steaks. Did not want to take risk of sending back 8 meals to get hot as would've cooked them longer and that would cancel out how we wanted them cooked. We've been here before with a large party and meals were hot. Service was good. We always expect a wait for food here so no complaints! We did ask for bread as it wasn't offered as usual. Wish I could give this less than one star. The day started out where it was my Moms birthday and my parents anniversary so we decided to go for a drink to ledgewater since none of us have been there before. We decided just to sit at the bar, no harm done and no waiting for a table. Things first started when the bartender loudly told her manager that she would not be serving us because my dad was standing at the end of the bar. This prompted the manager to ask us if we were waiting for a table...when we asked if she had one she said no so we stayed at our spot. This bartender continued to not acknowledge us AND DIDNT EVEN MAKE EYECONTACT!! One of her kind coworkers hoped in and made our time much better and took our order so I am thankful to her for making the night somewhat better. Last evening my wife and I went to the Ledge Water in hopes of having a great meal. We go at least 1-2 times per year. However, this WAS NOT the case. Shrinkflation has hit here too. Prices have increased an average of 35-40%, I can understand a price increase in today's economy. But the portions have also shrunk. My wife always orders the baked stuffed shrimp. In the past, 4 shrimp were served, last night only 3. With the prices up, and cutting the quantity by 25% effectively prices this place out of contention as a local secret spot. I ordered a Porterhouse steak and Lazy Man lobster. It was one of the specials. The size of their steak, thickness, used to be app 2 inches, this one was barely an inch if that. The steak was ordered Rare and arrived medium well. The lazy man lobster was on claw not a tail as described by the server. We were offered a dessert at the end. We decided to take it to go. Three issues here: This place is well known for having a renowned pastry chef as owner. 1. The dessert list offered chocolate cake with coconut with chocolate frosting. We picked this. A few minutes later our server came back and said someone had made a mistake on the dessert list and it had white frosting. No big deal here so far. 2. Our dessert was brought over, we opened the box and both said "Wow, that got smaller". 3. When we got home and tried it, the cake was extremely dry and tasteless. Best way to describe dessert, OVERPRICED, SMALL, DISAPPOINTING and from the day before baking at best. $16.00 for a small dried out piece of chocolate cake that tasted strangely like PepperRidge Farms cake in a box. This formerly great restaurant has turned into a great tourist trap for out of state folks. Time to go back to your roots and serve awesome food and fabulous deserts. Almost forgot, the deep fryer was broken too. So the next table couldn't order anything fried for there two young children. I don't think we will be back or recommend this place in the future. Our first time at Ledge Water. We sat inside but next to the window so we had a great view. Our waitress was good. Our drinks came super quick. We both got a mixed drink and then a glass of wine with dinner. The truffle oil artichokes for an app was Delicious! Our meals took a little longer than expected but that was ok because, I personally don't like it when I feel rushed out of a Restaurant. I like to enjoy my meal and company I'm dining with. This place is the WORST!!!! We came one evening without a reservation and were told they couldn't seat us bcuz they were full. So, we made reservation, WHILE WE WERE STILL THERE, for the following evening. We were told the only indoor seating was at 4:30. A little early for us, but OK, we will take it. The manager follows us outside and tells us that he could seat us outside, under the overhang at 5:30 if that worked better. We kindly declined stating we most definitely did NOT want to sit outside!!! We arrived the following day for our 4:30 reservation only to be seated OUTSIDE!!!!! There was nothing they could do to change our reservation to what we requested and the only option was OUTSIDE bcuz that's what the previous hostess wrote down! I'm sorry, HOW IS THAT MY PROBLEM????? It was now 4:36 and we were offered an indoor table if we could be done by....wait for it....4:45!!!!!! So, we had 9 minutes to eat!!! As if that was reasonable!!! We received the worst customer service ever with no apology!!! We opted to leave without eating!!! POOR POOR POOR!!! If I could leave a -5 star I would!!! read more

What a gem!! This was our first time there and on a Monday!! We had a party of six beautiful table overlooking beautiful Newfound Lake. The wait staff was amazing. The drinks were so good and the meal oh my gosh, all of us enjoyed everything we had! We had different steak cuts and shared, and I will say ii love the ribeye cut the best, but also enjoyed all the other cuts as well. We didn't get desserts so I can't comment on that. We booked a table for the fireworks in May and we were seated behind a tree area so that the fireworks were not visible. We ordered drinks and we waited almost 45 minutes for drinks to arrive. We quickly ordered meals at that time because the waitress said the kitchen was slow. After ordering the waitress came back and told 3 out of the 6 of us that they were out of what they ordered. We waited another 90 minutes for food. Food was not as good as previous times, steaks were dry, tenderloin was tough, and one meal came out of the kitchen ice cold and had to be sent back. Been wanting to come here for quite some time, only to be sorely disappointed. The atmosphere and views are very pleasant but it would have been a much better experience if the quality of the food did service to it. I had steak oscar with a garden salad and grilled asparagus and my wife had a Cesar salad with filet tips..... The pros: My salad was attractive and tasty and the filet was cooked properly (medium rare) and very tender (as it should be). The cons: My asparagus was dreadful looking as it was extremely over cooked and smothered with a bland tasting béarnaise sauce. The lobster was minimal at best and had the texture of yesterdays leftovers. This dish was served on a 500° plate (waitress said so), as if I had ordered fajitas at a chili's restaurant. The heat caused the béarnaise sauce to boil on the plate and effectively ruining the sauce and it all stuck to the plate anyway. What was left on the lobster and steak again was very bland. My wife's dinner consisted of the most expensive and probably one of the worst cesar salads she's ever had, the item she chose was topped with several large pieces of meat that was supposed to be filet mignon and the dressing on the salad was not only very minimal but also looked like it came from a bottle (she asked them to bring her a little more). After we started eating I asked how her salad was and she said "well, not the best I've ever had" and when I asked why she said the steak was very tough and asked me to see for myself. Since we both had ordered filets I expected hers to be of the same texture as mine but it was quite the contrary, my presumption is that these large chunks of meat were not filets but most likely sirloin cut or worse. Later the waitress came over and asked how everything was and when my wife explained her meat was very tough for a filet the waitress just said "oh, you should have said something I could have taken it back". As if this problem was the customers fault, she offered to do nothing else to compensate us, failed to get a manager and simply said "take your time with the bill" and "would you like a box to take the rest home?". You see, the waitress could easily see my wife had hardly eaten any of her $30.00 salad but that didn't seem to matter since it was our fault for not brining the complaint to her attention according to her schedule. This problem could have easily been solved by offering to recook some REAL "filet tips" and bring fresh lettuce, after all we were still seated at the table and we hadn't asked for the bill yet. For $150.00 I would expect MUCH better quality and better trained staff, ironically our waitress was training a new hire that evening who was learning how to create a dissatisfied customer. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, the view isn't worth the price of mediocre food and service. read more

Outstanding restaurant! It was a perfect evening outside on their beautiful deck watching the sunset and enjoying incredible steaks and accompanying side dishes. Our waitress/server was friendly and attentive. Good wine selection, full bar, and the desserts here are gigantic and all homemade. Big city prices for a small town restaurant , but worth every penny considering the quality of the food, the attentiveness of the staff and that gorgeous view that you will find no place else. Even if you are not staying in the immediate area, this is definitely a meal worth driving too. Highly recommended. read more

Had reservation last night table for 4 at 8pm. Arrived early figuring we could get a round of cocktails before being seated at our table. Got a high top in the bar, got the bartender's attention she said she would be right over. For the next 20 minutes we were reminded she 'would be right over'. Hostess came by to tell us our table was ready early so we gave up on waiting for drinks at the bar and moved to our table outside. We were told who our server would be, water glasses were filled, bread arrived (still have not heard from who we were told would be our server). 15 minutes later someone came by to ask if we would like some drinks, we gave up on cocktails and ordered 2 bottles of wine, she said she would let our server know. After 15 more minutes of our server not showing up nor our wine arriving at the table we gave up and left. Horrible service and they knew it, they came over more than once to apologize while doing nothing to improve service! We were never offered food so no possible comment on the food. They seemed to be understaffed and over booked. Tables were not spaced with COVID19 guidelines in mind. Some staff interacting with guests (including the owner) were not wearing masks. read more

And it is - but spun down the middle at a velocity that Newfound Lake can barely contain. The sassy, overworked staff is on hyperdrive. The prime rib is Flintstones yet, somehow, nuclear. The cheesy spinach is .... Cheesy Spinach. Yet it's all a surprise. If Sinatra had a little lake boat he would have parked it here on Golden Pond and commandeered a sunset table. Ordered Seared Scallops with lobster risotto Expected 4-6 scallops with 1/2 lobster in risotto Got two scallops with overcooked risotto and hardly any lobster for over $40. This was a disappointment. Crab cakes were cold, not enough sauce What was good: Service was wonderful by our8 nurse waitress (sorry, forgot her name) Shrimp cocktail was good and meatball Wellington was little dry. Most people in our party got steak which was cooked perfectly and delicious. Drinks were good. Desserts were too good. Everyone else was satisfied but me. Wonderful dining experience over Memorial Day weekend. Our party of six enjoyed dishes including Duck, Seafood, Filet, and Rack of Lamb. All were superb and cooked to perfection. Their dessert selection is incredible. Our server, Sydney, was top notch; friendly, attentive, a seasoned professional. Approaching it, you might think you've made a wrong turn and are headed into the woods, but as you reach the top of the hill you will see a parking lot and the cheerful yellow steakhouse beckoning you to come in and chomp on some delicious steak. Likewise, the friendly staff welcome you into the well-lit, eclectically decorated space. Old instruments and sheet music are scattered among cowhide rugs and seats in the spacious inside rooms, and the deck seating is accompanied by a burbling fountain. Definitely try to snag an outside table for a beautiful sunset view! I went with my boyfriend and his family. We had the: -Chilled seafood platter (crab meat, lobster meat and shrimp with cocktail sauce, a spicy orange mayo and a spicier green sauce) -Malbec (Mendoza) -Filet (medium rare) - comes with potato and house or caesar salad. -Petite filet (medium) -Haddock florentine -House salad The food was delicious. The seafood platter is great for splitting among four people (but a little deceptive because the pile of ice on which the seafood rests makes it look gargantuan). The filet was twice the size that I expected and perfectly cooked. My boyfriend's mother advised us to get the dressing on the side because some of the dressings can be hit or miss. I substituted asparagus with hollandaise for my potato, but didn't like it that much. Our waitress recommended the sweet potato casserole as her favorite side.
