My family are big fans of Applebees in our hometown in NC so when we stopped in Toledo for a quick lunch we figured we'd give this Applebees a try. Our waitress was great and even tho she was super busy because it seemed they were understaffed, we never did without anything and she made sure our orders were corrected when they were brought out with a few errors by another employee. My quesadilla burger was seasoned well and cooked exactly like I ordered, with the bacon removed as I had requested, and the fries were hot and perfectly seasoned. Everyone else's meals were good too so I have no complaints and we will stop again the next time we are visiting! read more

My husband and I each ordered a 4th July drink. Me:7/10 tastes like a bombpop. After about seven big sips, I'm feeling a slight buzz. Him: it's good, but I wouldn't order it again. 5/10 Staff is quick, and very friendly. Clean bathrooms, and tables. Very respectful of our service dog, so that's a huge plus. I don't have a problem showing ID for him, but it s just one less pain in the ass thing. My chicken tortilla soup: If mayo is spicy, don't order. Haven't visited Applebee's in just over a year, decided to take the family for a good dinner. The night we visited, it was slow and not busy at all. The four of us ordered the steak dinner and were not at all impressed with the cut of steaks we received. They were very fatty with a load of tendons throughout the cut. They were just thin cuts, not how I remember my steaks from Applebee's being. The sides were just as good as always. We had the lava cakes for desert, and they are still the best way to end a dinner here. read more

I had a carside order. After it was 20 mins late, I had to pull off to avoid being late for getting back to work. I called the store to cancel the order and the manager caught a huge attitude. He said he didn't think he needed to cancel my order because there wasn't one. I just kept insisting that there was. When I offered to read give him the order number (which he never took), he put me on hold. When he came back, he told me that he found it and he would be able to cancel it. No apology, no nothing. I was so angry that I called their corporate customer service. Maybe it was just this location that was rude and unprofessional. They took my information and gave me a case number. They told me that someone from the store would be reaching out, but they never did. Update: The manager did eventually reach out to apologize for the whole ordeal. Looking at the reviews it seems like this particular location has a terrible history which I wasn't aware of. Worst service ever. Used to go to the Central location but they closed it and was here last month and awful service on take out and had to go to Costco so decided to give them another shot. Did a timed order thinking it would help and got there right when I was suppose to and clicked on the link that I was there. Had a phone call to make so waited and 15 minutes later no one come to my car yet. Went to the pickup stand and there were four other people there and a bunch of orders just sitting on a stand so I go over to look for mine and get snapped at by a server that an employee would be with me shortly. Ten minutes later someone finally came up and gave everyone their orders. Got home and the sauce was missing and the food was cold from sitting out (I put it in a hotbag as soon as I left the restaurant). I would have probably never received my food if I had waited in my car for curbside. They need to remove the curbside option from the webpage since this same thing happened a few weeks ago. I ordered Carside To Go and the quality of the food was way below the usual quality which I had always appreciated. I ordered a sampler appetizer plate of Boneless Wings and Wonton Tacos. The tacos looked like they were thrown into the to go box and the shells were wilted. The ranch in the to go cup did not have the lid attached and the ranch had spilled all over the to go box, drenching the wings. I have always been a huge fan of applebee's until now. Very upset at the quality of the food for the price I paid. I'm generally a fan of Applebees -- tasty, nutritious, and filling food, calories on the menu makes my dietary planning easy, nice ambience at least for a chain restaurant, open late at night by Toledo standards. I was a regular at the Central Avenue location until they closed recently, then I started going to this one, and I don't like them quite as much. First of all, late nights they have a half price appetizers offer. The advertisement on the table clearly says half price off all appetizers. At the Central Avenue location, they always included soups and salads in this deal, and that would make sense since the soups and salads are listed on the appetizer page of the menu. At this location they do not include soups and salads. I think they might be going against corporate policy here. Second issue, both times I've been here in the last month or so, there has been nobody at the hostess stand and I've had to wait a minute or more to be greeted. Not a big deal but kind of gets my dinner off to a less pleasant start. That being said, the service here has been quite friendly so they do have that going for them. read more

Arrived during dinner hour on a Friday evening. Manager, Brady, was taking names and cautioned 10-15 min wait. We were seated 7 minutes later. JoJo was our waitress-trainee, got our drinks, took our order, and gave us excellent service. Two of the people in our party had bottomless orders, the shrimp & riblet refills were delivered promptly. In fact, Brady brought one of the plates. Got to love a manager that jumps in and helps out wherever needed. We had shrimp, riblets & salmon, all were very good. House Cabernet was excellent! We went to have a nice birthday celebration dinner. One person went early to ask for a table for six. They said it would be forty five minutes to get a table. This was at 4:30 pm. At 5:15pm, she texted our group they said they were cleaning a table for us, so we headed over to the restaurant. We arrived at 5:25, and they were still cleaning the table. There were six others in line waiting for a table besides our party, but I counted thirty one open tables. They finally seated us at 5:48. We sat at the table until 6:15 pm and not one single worker ever stopped at our table to ask about drinks, or even to tell us that they were runnning behind - nothing. I could see having a line if it was busy, but I literally counted the empty tables, while I watched group after group get tired of waiting at the door and leave. We left our table, stopped by the guy who sat us, and told him we were leaving because no one came to help us. It is a busy location so some times it takes a little longer to get your food or check, but they do much better than other restaurants with the same customer flow. More recently, since the unlimited wings have started, we have been getting even better service. I am really not sure how a business could reach such wreched state of affairs; the owners should strongly consider firing everyone, chaining the doors closed, demolish the building and finally salting the earth where the build stood so nothing grows. My Girlfriend's family and I were left standing at the hostess stand for 30 minutes. While waiting for some form of acknowledgment, I noticed the large number of dirty tables. I had so much time on my hands,while waiting for the hostess I began counting all the tables in the resaurant and discovered that literally %75 of all the tables were dirty. This place has gone from mediocre to below average throughout the years. The service was not the greatest and it was not even busy when I last went. My friend and I did the 2 for $20 which comes with two entrees and an appetizer. Dessert might've been included as well but we skipped it. We got the spinach dip and it was so artificial and bland, served with the thinnest chips ever that after a few bites we stopped eating. She ordered a pasta that had three petite slices of chicken on it. I ordered the bourbon chicken and shrimp. I love creole food and was very disappointed by the lack of flavor that was presented on my plate. Not to mention, I ordered shortly after my friend and received my food very, very late. The only reason this location gets two stars is because of the drinks. I love Long Islands and for .50 cents more you can order rhem flavored with strawberry or raspberry. Ordered curbside to go. I love to order and pay for my food on the internet. It is very nice to have the food brought out as soon as you pull up. Staff interaction was very nice. The quality of the food left a lit to be desired though. The steaks we ordered were half inedible fat. The onion rings was served with BBQ sauce?! The potato was cold.
