Great history, paired with good service. Plenty of seating and standing area. A great assortment of meals, all filling and well prepared. Serves just about every sandwich/burger imaginable. Great place to visit!

We stopped here sort of a detour on our way home from Ohio and it was worth a stop because the atmosphere was beautiful. It was in a restored warehouse and the food and waitress was very nice. I got the turkey wrap and upgraded to steak fries. My friend got one of the Durty bird burgers and really liked it. He also upgraded to steak fries. I brought half of my wrap home for leftovers.

I've always had a soft spot for a good dive bar. There's just something about a place with a little grit, good people, and zero pretense that feels like home. While Ye Olde Durty Bird isn't a true dive, it hits a lot of the notes I love... and then some. The place has character. It's got that old building charm with exposed brick, creaky floors, and a lived-in vibe you can't fake. The staff treats you like a regular even if it's your first time through the door, which matters to me way more than a fancy cocktail list. Now, about the food... I came for the wings because people kept hyping them up, and I get why. They're crispy, messy in the right way, and loaded with flavor. Their burgers are legit too, big enough to require both hands and perfectly cooked. And while I'll usually take a cheap can of beer over anything else, their draft list has enough local and craft options to keep even a beer snob happy. I love spots where you can catch a game, have a drink, chat with whoever's sitting next to you, and leave full and a little buzzed without breaking the bank. Durty Bird nails that vibe. It's not trying to be fancy, it's just good at what it does - and for someone like me who loves a great dive but can appreciate a well-run gastropub, it hits the sweet spot. Definitely the kind of place I'd come back to, belly up to the bar, and make a night out of it.

This was my first time in as I have heard good things about this place in downtown Toledo. Overall, the food here is pretty good and the menu is huge so you will definitely find something that you like. I would say the menu is pretty overwhelming to look at as there are so many things to choose from. you will get a good meal here and the portion sizes are pretty good however a bit pricy in my opinion for what you are getting. The salad was very big however it was almost 20 dollars and I was charged a good amount to add olives/peppers which I was unaware of. I thought the onion rings and brussel sprouts were a small size for the portion of an appetizer and the price and both of them I could have gone without. The mushroom burger was very undercooked, and the service was friendly however did feel a bit rushed to order. The place was cool on the inside and tucked into downtown toledo, I would like to sit on the back patio in the summer during the nice weather. overall, this place is a good spot in toledo however I do not think I will go out of my way to come back. but if you go i recommend the salad!

I love this place. the food is always tasty, the beer is always cold, and the service very friendly. The ambiance is warm and welcoming. I recommend this place and is my go to spot. You won't go wrong if you're not sure where to try.

Great place! Right downtown, vibe inside was nice with an old bar kind of feeling. Had outdoor seating which would be nice in the summer. Sat at the bar and ordered a sandwich which was amazing. Service was good from the bartender. Would totally eat here again when in Toledo

My boyfriend, mom and I stopped here before a concert in the area, thanks to a recommendation from the guy working the car lot. There was a concert and a mudhens game in the area and we arrived before the rush! We sat outside and it was very windy but very hot. We couldn't open the umbrella because the wind was too much. I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap while the rest of my party had burgers. Delicious! I especially loved the hot grilled chicken in the wrap. Handhelds are served with potato chips or you can get fries for an upcharge. The burgers were tasty. The portions are quite large. We could have walked away with leftovers if we had a cooler to keep them cold.

Close to fifth third field this place is hopping. Plenty of seating inside and a lovely outdoor patio as well. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The chicken chunks are a healthy alternative but heavy on sauce. I had hot which was good but next time I'd ask for on the side. Would have prefer more celery than 1 stick and 1 carrot. My partner had the Cuban on a hoagie roll . There was the option for wheat or white bread as well. He said it was very good. We also stopped back later to use the " Dora Station" for " to go" drinks. Service there was fast and friendly as well.

We stopped by for dinner before a concert at the Toledo Zoo Amphitheater. The place was hopping because there was also a Toledo Mud Hens game. Our service was excellent and the bathrooms are very clean. The food was delicious . We shared the French dip, very tender roast beef, and Brussel sprouts. We also had the French onion soup which I thought was very good! We enjoyed our dinner and plan returning!

I got the lamb sliders and they were not only perfectly cooked and juicy but they were probably the best thing I have ever put in my mouth. The service was quick and since I went on a Monday afternoon it was quiet and relatively empty. 10/10 definitely coming back next time I'm in Toledo.

We came here for drinks before dinner and were seated on the outdoor covered patio section. They have a huge food menu, so there's something for everyone! I ordered three Milky Way martini and the vanilla surprise. Both were fantastic! I see this place in my future for lunch!

Our server was so terrific. All the food was delicious. I'd been craving French onion soup and decided to give it a try and it was sofa king good. Perfection! I also had a delicious turkey club paired with a kiwi smash. The space is open with high ceilings and a long bar. It started filling up shortly after we were seated so would recommend a reservation. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in Toledo!

This is kind of a hard review for me. I REALLY wanted to love this place, but a few things went…read morekind of wrong, and the ambiance, although really interesting, was off. The drinks were good, but again, a hitch. Service too... So, two of us ordered the French dip sandwich. They were just OK at best. Really no flavor, the roll was kind of wrong and the jus was tasteless. I asked (several times) for some horseradish, and I would guess it's still on its way to the table... 2 folks ordered the fried walleye, and one said it was REALLY good and the other said it was really over cooked. 1 person ordered the burger and said it was great. The last person ordered the salmon and did like it. The standout sides were the brussels sprouts and the fries. Both are very, very good. No comments about the other sides. The person across the way ordered the bruleed sweet potatoes and they looked amazing. The ambiance. What a cool place inside. A cool mix of furnishings with some kitsch factor. Not in a bad way from aesthetics, but in practicality, a big miss. When we were taken to our table, we were presented with a 1950's style dinette and chairs. Again, really kitschy, but not at all fun to sit in. The place has a cool mix of all kinds of stuff, but the noise was deafening. We tried to talk to one another, but it was really hard. Just too much background noise from all the people in a concrete, brick and steel room. Too bad. The drinks... So, I took a chance and ordered my martini. I explained how I wanted it mixed, etc. and the bartender did a superb job! Hats off to him for making a great martini! The big issue was one of our guests wanted a Bloody Mary. The waitress explained that they have great Bloody Mary's as they make their own mix. After the drinks were ordered, the waitress came back to the table to let us know they were out of Bloody Mary mix. Mind you, this is 6:00 on a Saturday. That shouldn't happen. The service... All of the drinks were ordered at the same time, and they came out in a staggered fashion over a period of 15 minutes. Same thing with our dinners. Interestingly, the hold up with the entrees was the 2nd French Dip. I would guess if the guy making the sandwiches saw 2 of the same thing on the same ticket, he'd make them both at the same time. That second sandwich took at least 15 minutes to get to the table. We're all being polite and waiting for his meal to deliver so we can all eat at the same time. Cold fish, anyone? And I'd still like to know where my horseradish went. Oh, parking in the lot to the left of the building is stupid expensive. Park in the garage across the street and save $20 bucks. All in all, our check came to about $100.00 for 3 of us. That's without the tip. My meal was a solid 2 to 3-star event but factoring in the others' opinions and negating the Bloody Mary incident and service, I'll give it 4 stars. Pretty sure I'll go back, but probably not too soon.

When we arrived the host? Not sure who he was just starts talking about the only seats at the bar. Didn't get a word in edgewise to say hey I have a reservation. We were the only folks sitting at the bar so ok. So back to where I was. 40 minutes later sitting directly at the bar trying to make eye contact and caught a server finally to take our order. Now 4 more folks came n sat at the bar. Somehow their food order got taken and before ours. My man is ticked and about to leave. Ordered a pearmosa which is a woodchuck cider not a mimosa to me. We got a waffle (cold), bacon, grits and the seafood grits. Most were cold. Butter just melted and that's after I heated it up next day. The flavor of the food was good. Just not proper temp, service sucked and the parking sucks. Limited street parking or pay to park lots. Im going to give them some time to grow before trying again. If you're looking for a taste of a New York delicatessen in the state of Ohio, look no further…read morebecause "Big Apple Deli" will definitely have you covered. Located just outside of Toledo in the neighboring community of Oregon, this place has been dishing out delicious New York-styled sandwiches dating back to 2011. The location itself is located directly off of Woodville Rd. and just north of Oakdale Ave. As of 2023, they are opened for business Tuesday through Saturday from 8am-7pm while being closed on Sunday and Monday. I ended up coming here during the afternoon of Wednesday 9/13/2023 at around 3:30pm as I had not yet eaten lunch and needed something to fuel me the rest of the afternoon. The exterior offers ample parking throughout while the large sign is easily identifiable from the street. The main entrance also has the business name in very large letters which gives their business that 'wow' factor even before entering. As far as the interior layout, it is well laid-out and spacious with seating for about 25 guests. And since this place is named after New York City, they have a ton of memorabilia on everything associate with the Big Apple. This includes representing the NY Mets, NY Yankees, & NY Giants sports teams, a picture of the Brooklyn Bridge, a Subway stop at Times Square, signs of many New York streets, and much more. All of their menu items are even named after landmarks and sports teams in New York City; "Broadway", "Central Park", "Rangers", etc. I ended up going with a small specialty sub (for $5.99) of their "Madison Square" combo. This included ham, pastrami, salami, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, peppers, Italian dressing, mustard, and creamy mayonnaise on a soft New York-styled roll. I also opted for a bag of chips which were Ohio's own "Ballreich's" sour cream & onion flavored and a 20 oz. size of Royal Crown cola. Total price was a very reasonable $10 for everything. I also wanted to point out that in addition to their yummy sandwiches, they also have a huge variety of soups, salads, potato salads, snack trays, and even a ton of desserts. Once my sandwich was ready, I took a bite into pure heaven. The bread was one of the freshest and softest rolls I've even bit into. They also did not skimp on the meat while this place can easily rival any New York deli. The service here was also top notch as the staff here go above and beyond for their customers. When you factor in the service, food quality, location, experience and affordable prices, "Big Apple Deli" is easily a 5-star Yelp experience.
