Want to preface this by saying the waitress was nothing but nice and deserves a bonus. Manager was HORRIBLE. Had a big group but were okay with splitting in half to make things easier. When one half originally went in we were asked "do you see any open tables" in a rude way by the manager. One half of group was told 45-60 mins wait and the other got sat right away no problems and we were there the same time and sent different person in. When the manager was called out on this and caught in his lie was when the other group got seated. Manager said something to our waitress that clearly stressed her out about our table although he made us out to be the bad guys when we just wanted to get an appetizer and a spooky sips drink. I get that it was homecoming for a school, and a Friday night, however the way we were treated was no way to go about it. read more

Most everything was what you would expect from a chain like this. I wanted the 12 oz steak, but they were out by the time I got to order. I ended up going with the pork chop, but it was too overcooked and dry to eat so I sent it back. The second one was cooked okay, but had too much pepper on it. Still not bad. I recently decided to order takeout from here since my family was out of town and I was fending for myself. I ordered online for carside pickup which went smoothly. I ordered my favorite and go-to dish at Applebees, the oriental chicken salad. I arrived alittle earlier than the 20 minutes they estimated it would be ready and it was ready upon arrival. Everything went ok with pickup...it was fast and easy. Here's where my issue was....there was barely any salad! Like actual lettuce. The salad was inundated with those crispy Asian noodle things. Don't get me wrong, I like the crunch, but that was overboard. I was so disappointed that there was barely any lettuce. Oh well, I learned my lesson and it made me realize why Applebees isn't doing too hot anymore. Oh, also, they forgot to give me a fork in my pickup bag. That was also lame. read more

First, our server was excellent, very friendly, quick and helpful! She even pointed out a two-for deal that saved us money. Chain restaurants are consistently "meh", and in a sub-par food scene like Lehigh Valley, "meh" beats most competition. You also don't go to Lehigh Valley for good customer service. At least at chain restaurants, everyone gets some sort of corporate training that tells them how to behave (albeit in a bland manner). Is this an impressive restaurant? Hell no. We decided to take advantage of the curbside pickup. I ordered the chicken and shrimp fajitas. It was mostly filled with tons of huge onions and lots of peppers very little rice and the chicken and shrimp were none existent. I was very disppointed. My husband ordered medium sirloin steak..it came out overdone, and the sides were sub par. I think Applebee's thinks that it doesn't mean they have to provide quality food because it is take out. Chain restaurants have standards for each location opened. I can attest that this one does not meet the standards. For one, our waitress was Nutrasweet at best, meaning she fakely polite. When I ordered an Angry Orchard, she scoffed and asked for my ID. She then barely glanced at it, and asked, "Is this even real? Should I bother swiping it?" She then carried it off, showed it to another server while laughing, and swiped it. It was, of course, a real ID. She practically threw the drink at me and took our dinner orders. We both ordered burgers. My brother asked for well-done, to which she parried with a 5 minute chorus of "Pink? Or no pink? Pink means it's pink inside. Do you want it pink?" No, madame, he wants it well done. Even an idiot should know that a well done piece of beef, ground or otherwise, has no pink inside. I asked for it medium, engaging in another parry of "pink or no pink". I took the time to explain that I wanted it MEDIUM, meaning some pink. She scoffed and tossed her hair, saying that the kitchen would want to know if it was pink or no pink. I'm positive that the kitchen would understand what a medium burger meant, but I gave up and said no pink to avoid getting a rare or blue burger. When the meal arrived, it was drowning in grease. I had asked for no pickles, but it seemed that she had written down "extra pickles". Overall, the experience was one of the worst and most embarrassing that I've had. The amount of grease sliding off of our meals would have been enough to deep fry an entire cow. Even Whitecastle isn't as greasy. I will not set foot in this location again. read more

The food here is the same as any Applebees I have been to. I have consistent great service, and am not surprised when I come in on a busy night and it takes longer for certain things. If you ARE surprised by this, don't come at 6 on a weekend night. This place is consistently busy at normal dining hours, they have a friendly staff, and I have personally seen them accommodate guests other restaurants would not. (ever wait on a guy who doesn't talk? They do.) This place is fine for kids, business lunches, or groups. They have helped local fundraisers before as well. 4-27-18 When I came here the waitress was so slow the four of us ended up ordering on the kiosk. Then three orders of food came out of the four. When I asked were my food was the waitress said she'd go check. The waitress came out and served the people next to us and walked past us not giving us any feedback on where the food was. By the time the fourth order came out the three of us were done. We didn't get a second refill for our $2 dollars sodas. In addition some of our food was burnt crisp. Came out with my friends for some half apps and were seated between multiple groups of loud, yelling teenagers. They were tossing food, yelling across the restaurants and constantly clapping and yelling. We calmly asked the hostess to possible move, and she told me "well there's kids everywhere." I was surprised about the rudeness of her answer, especially since another corner of the restaurant was not seated with teenagers and children, and had open seats. A very disappointing night. Applebee's is good place to go if you want quick apps and drinks. They always have drink specials, but it is a little to loud in there. They got great food options now and they are a lot better than before. There wait staff is alright, I sometimes get a really good waiter/waitress, or I get a terrible one that checks the table maybe twice that's it. Ordered steak salad, with 8-10 pieces of steak on the picture in the menu, got my order - it was half a size; manager apologized for "our pictures make it seem like you get more"; same thing happen with kids side - Apple & yogurt; pictured with 5-6slices, we got 3 little tiny slices (their standard portion I was told). Lettuce was old and liquidy. Son's chicken was burnt... May be they were having a bad day but for $50 for dinner for 4 with 2 toddlers- it does not seem at all worth it! The replacement came out after everyone else had already finished. It was rare - still cold and too grisly to eat. They did take it off the bill, but dinner was pretty much ruined.
