At long last, Longhorn may have surpassed the mighty Outback in the casual steak chain arena. As Americans, we've just sort of lost our infatuation with the land down under. I'm not sure if we'll ever be able to recapture the magic of peak Aussie-MANIA in the 80s. Since then, it's slowly gone downhill, from Crocodile Dundee and Steve Irwin to the Hemsworth brothers. If they want to breathe new life into the franchise, it should try to be truly authentic with walls adorned with box jellyfish, Eastern brown snakes, funnel-web spiders, and leaves of the suicide plant, known colloquially as "gympie-gympie." Speaking of ambiance, I think that's where LongHorn has really pulled through. Holy cow, I just realized the "H" is capitalized in LongHorn. I have been typing this wrong for years. But yes, once inside it really feels like a spacious, romantic cabin. Everything is dark amber woodgrain. Black metal chandeliers with those lights made to look like candlesticks hang high above. Great, moody lighting. Some real elaborate paintings as well - giant, like those old creepy 20-foot tall Beauty and the Beast-era portraits. It really gives it all such a whimsical sense of grandeur. As for the food, it's good ol' homestyle frontier cookin'. You ever eat on the frontier? Re-enact your favorite scene from Westworld? They had grilled shrimp skewers in the wild west, right? Surely old prospectors sat by the fire under the stars chowing down on their loaded baked potatoes. I swear LongHorn used to be more rootin' and tootin', more rodeo clown and denim cowboy. Back in those days, they used that super light colored wood from floor to ceiling, and if I'm not mistaken, the servers dressed up in cowboy shirts and hats. Now you might almost say it's classy. It's no longer where the wild things are. Frontier life has been brought to the modern era, and it sure is tasty. read more

The shrimp appetizer is worth the trip alone. Not my favorite steak but definitely still great food.

We had dinner the evening of 3/7/26. The first problem we encountered was that the silverware for both my husband and I was dirty. The only thing that was clean was one knife. If you aren't aware, each dinner gets two forks and a knife rolled up in a cloth napkin. Our server gave us both new napkins with the silverware rolled in them and sadly one fork was dirty again. Now to the meal. I texted 1/2 rack of ribs. My ribs were quite tender but not hot, slightly warm but were flavorful. My salad and Brussels sprouts were also good. My husband ordered a steak, cooked to medium. The steak was cooked perfectly, however the steak was tough and dry. You could look at the steak and see it was not a good quality piece of beef. His baked sweet potosi was barely warm but he had no other complaints with the potato. At one point during our dinner I glanced over at a neighboring table to see a woman really struggling to cut her steak and chew it. This was my husband's experience as well. Seeing her with the same struggle, solidified that it surely is the quality of beef. We will not return, Texas Roadhouse is so much better and the quality is way superior. read more

If you are looking for somewhere to go for a nice lunch, go here. It's small, but nice in that corporate steakhouse kind of way. Booths looked comfortable even for a large guy like myself, though we'd already requested a table by default. They have a nice variety of great lunch deals for around $10, and the food is very good. i got a half-pound bacon cheeseburger and crock of French onion soup, while my dining partner got a salad topped with strips of a 7oz peppered sirloin (actually great steak, I was surprised) and also the French onion soup. They also gave fresh bread that was great to hold us over until out food arrived. If I had one complaint, it would be that the soup was a little too salty. They kill it with the cheese though -- so much cheese. For the amount of food, the quality of the food, and everything else, it's hard to beat. This will definitely be our go-to for lunch after a doctor appointment in the area. read more

Great service! The starter bread was hot, fresh and was served with sweet butter. My son's steak was huge and cooked perfectly as ordered. It was tender and had great flavor. The burger was also cooked perfectly as ordered and had a good amount of crispy bacon. The sauce on the burger was creamy and was a great accompaniment to the burger. Our server was fantastic. I use to love visiting Longhorn, the decor of rustic elegance was lovely and the food was always so delicious. The food is good, not delicious. Our waiter was very accommodating and kind. However, to my dismay, the facility is filthy and wall paper is detaching from the walls in the dining area and the women's bathroom...unfortunately the quick fix in the bathroom by using staples failed. Really?! Staples? Wow! Now, let's focus on "filthy...Yes, the ventilation screens above the dining area are corroded, I mean corroded! Can you imagine the air quality? It's mind boggling. Also, the ornamental decorations are so dusty it's noticeable...thick enough to look like fuzz. Wow! This will be my Last visit until this facility gets a complete overhaul. Prices are high like everywhere else. So Longhorn Management, don't you care about your patrons to at least keep up with the facility's appearance to showcase its once stellar ambiance of rustic elegance, again? Once in a blue moon it'll come out more towards medium well, however I've never had anything to complain about with the wait staff. And the steak is still delicious either way! A family favorite. Very nice atmosphere, they have been around a long time. The facility and staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The bread seemed bland but it was fresh so there's that. We got the onion petal appetizer and it was good, not terribly greasy and the onion was sweet. Carol the rib eye, med well and it was cooked good and nicely seared, Sweet potato was done well also. I got the porterhouse, medium done perfect with a delicious sear. Got the asparagus spears the only disappointment of the meal, very over cooked, soggy. Other than that very good meal. I called to put a call ahead table in and was told table would be ready in about 30-35 mins I showed up and was told oh it's gonna be 35-50 mins for your table. Firing on all cylinders, my daughter and I came here prior to going to the Scorpions concert at the Santander Arena. My daughter was skeptical and wanted to go to the Outback across the street but I talked her into this (besides I was paying). We did their $12.99 meal deals and each got an appetizer of the Wisconsin Cheese Curds. Amazing!!! It made me miss living in Wisconsin except these were better than what I would get there. Our next course was a soup. I went for the French Onion and my daughter got the chili. I didn't try hers but mine was fantastic. Our final course were steaks and potatoes. Do not come to this location often and after the last visit not sure I will again. When it came to the service, it was like there was no life in the waitress, There was no smiling, barely any talking, only checked in once when we were almost done eating, just overall not very pleasant. The food: We had gotten the chili cheese fries (chili on the side). The fries tasted like the cheap ones out of a bag from the grocery store, jalapeno's were just thrown on top and not cooked in like most places, and the chili did not look appetizing. When it came to the bread, it looked and tasted different than other Longhorn's I have been too. Luckily my meal had come out cooked well and tasted great. Having seen all the negative reviews from over a year ago... Jan 2020.. this timeframe being the start of the COVID 9 panic. I have eaten here around 3 times prior to COVID and 3 times since (twice dine in once takeout). Every time was a great experience. Food arrived promptly and as ordered. The staff was friendly and efficient. The food was good as well. BUT!!! The best part of our meal is always the deserts. They are always the best and they give us enough to take home to eat later. My first time here. I ordered the shrimp and lobster soup, the 8oz steak with sweet potato brown sugar and butter and a Caesar Salad. There was also a half rack of ribs with a loaded backed potato. The food was ok. More like cafeteria food seriously, and if you see my picture of my steak and sweet potato you'll see my steak looks like a near white pork chop. Luckily it tasted better than it looked. Still cafeteria food though. My Caesar Salad was ok. Again nothing special. My shrimp and lobster soup had no lobster taste, but it was most definitely spicy. This was probably my worst experience at any steakhouse in my life. Ordered prime rib medium rare. Received well done steak. Manager came over and apologized and asked if I would like a ribeye. He initially failed to tell me that he offered the ribeye because they had no more prime rib steaks that was at my "specific requested temperature" of medium rare. Mind you this was at 4 o'clock in the afternoon on a Monday. At this time, the manager gave me a ribeye. This was again wrong, As I received the steak as rare as possible. The manager apologized again and brought out another ribeye five minutes later. Luckily for me, it was actually medium rare. Throughout my entire visit here, I ordered a Diet Coke to drink. I received no refill and was obviously put on the back burner for larger tables. At the end of my meal, I expected to receive a full apology from the manager and or server. However I got the exact opposite. I received a bill for over $26 for a steak that I initially didn't even want. You do not charge the customer after you make multiple errors in their meal. No discount. No offer for an appetizer. I could care less about them giving me a discount. It is about them offering and truly apologizing for a horrific experience. No one wants to go out to eat and immediately walk out to their car in parking lot of that said business and write a review on yelp. I can promise you that the cost of the steak will not outweigh the cost of business that A customer provides every time him or his family think about going out to eat. This will be my last attendance at this Longhorn or any Longhorn for that matter. My first time at Longhorn. Our waitress Kayla was good and attentive to us. I was not really impressed with the food. The seasoning on the flo filet was overpowering. Seasoning on a filet other than S&P ruins a good piece of meat like that. My NY Strip was ok. The white cheese sauce under the fries was a bit odd. It also made the fries soggy. I have friends who rave about longhorn but for me, I will stick to Texas Roadhouse. read more
