I really like this place. People are nice, food is good and the best part half priced appetizers after 9pm

Service sucks! Bartender is too busy chatting it up! And is rude when we ask for something. I mean we are paying for our food of course we want it the right way. Doesn't even check on you to see if you need anything unless she knows you.. When our food came out, we asked the lady who brought it out for ranch and blu cheese. She never came back, but Instead was in her phone u the bathroom. And then our food wasn't cooked the right way. I'm never the one to complain but if the service was good I would get over the food being not so good I mean it is Applebee's. But service sucks. Barley any good beers on tap. Turlock needs a Better late night spot. read more

We used to love coming to Applebee's but I don't think I will be coming back for a while. The server was amazing. But unfortunately their manager is a dick. We ordered some sodas when we first got here and upon tasting them, they tasted like carbonated water. we asked the waitress to bring us different drinks, thinking it was just that specific soda. She brought us another round and the different sodas we ordered still tasted the same. She asked her manager to come talk to us about it and all he could say was a week ago it was just treated and tested by Pepsi. He looked us in the face and said that they didn't taste like water. He didn't accommodate us for anything and then just walked away. So the waitress was a 10/10 but meeting the manager makes this establishment a 0/10. Would not recommend going here at all. Horrible food the mozzarella sticks were cold the fish basket was gross the fish was doughy and the French fries were barely hot .. I had a loaded potatoes that was not loaded it didn't have but one piece of a bacon bit on it this was a simple basic boring meal I could have made better at home.. Had to wait for 25 minutes before someone took our order. Waitress were walking by us without acknowledging us.even the manager walked by us without acknowledgement. It was early in the morning and it wasn't that busy. One who seated us was no where to be found. Some seemed to go to only old people and the ones that were dressed nicely. As we were about to leave , a kind waitress finally approached us and apologized for everyone. She seemed well educated and mannered. Applebee's - not the best and not the worst. We had our ups and downs with the restaurant, but we love their 2 for $20 deal. This is why four stars were given. We been to Chilli's and their 2 for $20 does not compare to Applebee's, especially the appetizers. Applebee's appetizer come from their actual menu so you may reference what it is, where as Chilli's seem to have a cheap waterdown version of their appetizers and does not provide a variety to pick from. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend you do. It's a deal and doesn't even break the wallet! read more

Literally the worst place to go ever. It was the only place open in Turlock after 10 so we gave it a chance and immediately regretted it. Ok so where do I start. The one star is correct I give it negative stars. My black friends and family came to this restaurant tonight! We were lied to basically all night about how long the we would be seated. Eventually 1 hour and 45 minutes later and sat at the table then waited about 20 more minutes. The reason we stay is because we are very hungry!! It is late and we haven't eaten all day. We call a manager over named BRIAN. He came over here and we explained it all to him. It is way to much to write on what happened to us tonight. But this manager!! So we say to him we are the only people of color in here and not only that we are the only ones in here without a drink or even been talked too! Applebee's only get two stars because their desserts are so good. I ordered a low calorie meal because the spinach cream sauce in a portabella mushroom sounded good. It was good but the serving size was so small. No wonder it was less than 550 calories. Two spoon fills and done. The service was subpar as well. So the night started out great, and the bingo host was fantastic. But unfortunately they don't honor bingo rules. Another person and I both won bingo, and only the other person got the prize. When I went to talk to the manager I told him "it isn't fair that the other person won over me" and he basically told me "better luck next time. You're right it's not fair." With attitude. I did not give this applebees one star to be harsh, that is the score it truly deserves. This review only refers to one venture to this applebees, but I have gone here before and had a very similar experience. It was busy, so I didn't expect immediate seating for me and my girlfriend, or even superbly prompt service, but the span of time from when we were seated to the time our server took our drink orders was about 12 minutes, and it was very obvious we were forgotten. For an appetizer we ordered the spinach dip, and after another 10 minutes we were reassured our 'mozzerella sticks' were coming right up. The waitress corrected herself after we looked very bewildered and 5 minutes later we got the spinach dip and a few crunched tortilla chips - far from enough for two people to share. She realized she forgot the salsa, so that took her an additional 5 minutes to find. Finally, our food came. My girlfriend got the bourbon chicken and shrimp, and I got chicken and fries. My food was pretty well crushed and mostly inedible, like they put a plate on it or something. My girlfriend's food just made her very nauseous, and it was obvious she was disappointed in how this all turned out. After we finished eating, we had to ask for the check after about 35 minutes of sitting, wondering where our waitress went. Our bill was picked up, but we never got any service after they got our money. I strongly advise against this restaurant. They are overwhelmed, and it shows in the finished product. My waitress even was bold enough to complain about her coworker to us before taking our order. I hope that this review affects someones opinion. read more

1 star is being generous! We went in for the $1 drinks. 5 of us. When the waitress came over she welcomed us by saying "welcome to happy hour!". It was about 5:45pm. We decided to order our drinks first so she said she would be back to take our order. 20 minutes later, mind you it wasn't very busy, she came to take out order and said "oh sorry no more happy hour." Well it would have been if you hadn't been standing at the bar gossiping with 2 other employees and your manager. Although the manager made that situation right, another person at our table ordered all you can eat riblets and only got 1 plate because the waitress thought talking to coworkers was more appropriate then tending to her tables. We also ordered the chicken parm in which the chicken came out completely raw in the middle. Food sucked, service was the worst I have seen but those $1 drinks were at-least good. Nothing extraordinary. Came today around 5, not busy at all. Was a table of 3 people, myself included. Went in, sat down waited about maybe 10 minutes until server came to ask us about drinks. Took a while for drinks, okay whatever. Gave our order, waiter repeated our order about 3 or 4 times, didnt write it down like waiters normally do, probably would've helped in this case. He went to input it on computer, came back and repeated order yet AGAIN. Kind of was starting to add to our frustration. Food comes out, but only HALF of our order came out, was told a few more minutes. Okay fine, but then a FEW minutes turned into FIFTEEN MINUTES!!!! WE WERE BEYOND ANNOYED! My friend and I came for dinner at 8:40 and the restaurant wasn't even that busy, our server didn't even come to ask us if we wanted anything to drink until another server came and brought us drinks. Than our server Jonathan came and took our order, after 40 minutes of waiting we decided to leave because we didn't get our food, and when I told jonathan we're just going to leave he said okay let me get your receipt. He didn't bother to make his costumer stay and happy, and also wanted to charge us for the food we didn't eat. The half price appetizer deal is what has captured my love for Applebee's. Though I don't understand why they don't update the billboard, the half price appetizers really runs 3-6, then 9-close. I've never been disappointed with the selection; I opt for the mozzarella sticks, boneless wings, and (originally steak) brisket quesadillas. I love to take the leftovers home and have another meal or two from these delightful dishes. read more

Only reason I'm giving 3 stars and not 0 starts is because our waiter Angel was so hopeful and was very nice through out our whole visit. I got a steak and ordered it medium and the steak was raw in the middle. It was so disgusting I almost couldn't eat the sides that came with my meal because I clearly wasn't going to eat the steak. I offered to pay for the sides but Angel took care of it and was nice enough to take the whole meal off of our tab, which I greatly appreciate. This Applebee's service has decreased drastically over the last couple of months & it's sad because it was always a go to spot for me and my group of friends. After this visit I probably will not ever go back to this Applebee's because quite frankly the service and the food sucks and it's not worth it to spend my money here. But on the bright side our waiter was great and I appreciate how kind he was and how he handled the situation, so kudos to him! read more

Came in on a Thursday night, when we arrived it seemed pretty full. As we were seated we were told our server would arrive shortly. I ordered a drink and spinach artichoke. Spinach artichoke came in pretty quickly however my glass of water took 20 min with no lemon that I ordered. As being a server myself I understand how crazy it can be when it's full but my gosh there were so many empty booths. I went up to the hostess to cancel my mixed drink since its been about 30 minutes since she asked for it . It took her about twenty minutes more to just even take our order. Ridiculous. I was on a business trip with a colleague and stopped at this restaurant close to 9 o'clock at night. When we entered the restaurant, we were seated right away. Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us frequently. She even offered to delay my beer order so I could get a happy hour discount. The food was pretty good for Applebee's but the great service bump up the rating to 4 stars. If I am in the neighborhood again on business, I would definitely stop for a meal. read more

Our waitress was ashli and she was a terrible server. She took our order fine at first then we asked for water and a couple other little things and she left us waiting for 5-10 minutes and I had the call server light on and she ignored it and kept helping this one table and when she finally came, I told her what we needed and I had a little attitude since I got annoyed of her ignoring us and next thing I see is her talking to her coworker about something and that coworker just kept looking at me. Giving them three stars because this is the first and last bad experience I had at this place because of my experience tonight. We arrived and were told the wait would be five minutes and the booth that was initially going to be cleaned for us was cleaned by another waiter and given to a party of four that arrived about ten minutes after us. The waiter and the party of four seemed to be familiar with each other based on greeting. They prioritized acquaintances over regular business which is very unprofessional. The waiter that had originally told us it was a five minute wait sat another party of two that arrived after us as well.
