I was trying to travel while we have a break in the weather, so I'm blasting south on the 5 freeway and it's getting on around time to stop for some lunch. Woodland is a good stop, easy on and off the freeway. I see on the GPS there's an Applebee's restaurant, and I just happen to have a gift card that a friend gave me, since she knows I love Applebee's. This Applebee's is located on East Main Street right near the Wal Mart. Lots of easy parking. I go in and get seated right away by the friendly host person. I already know what I want. I wanna get the "Greater Meal Deal" for $9.99! It's one of those off menu deals that you actually have to ask for, I dunno why they don't have it on the menu, hey used to awhile ago. For $9.99 you can get a big 1/2 pound Bacon Cheeseburger with fries and a drink included. For all that, that's cheaper than most fast foods for the same amount of food! The server has no problem getting my order. Diet Pepsi for my drink. A short wait and the food arrives. The server goes OOPS! They forgot the bacon, I'll bring you out some. I look and sure enough, it's just a cheeseburger, no bacon! That's the first time that's ever happened at Applebee's. The server returns with a big ass plate of bacon! Wow, that's way more than would have come on the burger, but I'm not complaining! Yummers for the perfectly cooked bacon! I stuff my burger with bacon and munch down! YES, this is one tasty burger and fries along with a refillable drink! If you really wanna push the value scale, you can get a big refill on the drink and then get it to go! They don't mind! I decided to try Applebee's in Woodlnd again after bad experience after bad experience because my daughter wanted their mini tacos or something. I tried to order the Oriental chicken wrap and I guess they no longer serve it so the lady tells me she'll ask them to make it anyway. Long story short it sucked. The tortilla was dry. There was hardly any salad. It was all chicken and it was bone dry and there was no little oriental thin little crunchy crouton things that are normally in an oriental chicken salad. So if you serve the oriental chicken salad with the croutons, why did my wrap not have it in there? Also, they didn't serve it with the oriental chicken dressing because I ordered a side of ranch that I paid for for my fries. Once she brought that I tried to make it work. I literally took two bites and pushed it off to the side and had her take it away. Regardless, if it was acceptable as a meal or not, she should not have charged me, but she did. Absolutely ridiculous. I still gave her an 18% tip because it wasn't her fault. The food was bad but she shouldn't have charged me. That was absolutely unacceptable in my opinion. Woodlnd Applebee's do better please. We don't have much for options of food in Woodlnd and you guys need to step it up. I'm not cheap. My oriental chicken salad was fine, but my husband's chicken parmesan fettuccine's pasta was way overcooked. The pasta was stuck together and not edible. I might have too, but ya' know... we had a good experience so I can't hold it against this Woodland, CA, chain even if it has been inconsistent for the locals. TLDR; They "accidentally" charged us $115 for someone else's bill then after accusing us of not paying before we left and starting an argument with us, had us pay our own bill and promised to refund us for the $115 bill. Two weeks passed and we still hadn't been refunded, I contacted them and they didn't want to refund us for multiple shifting reasons that were so plainly bs. Took a month to get the money back. Don't go to this Applebee's. -- I know it's said a lot, but if I could give this Applebee's a zero star review I would. The 1 star can be for the food because it was actually pretty good. My reasoning for leaving such a poor review is because of the service. Maybe one server there I thought was nice, but the on duty manager and entirety of the floor staff were unbelievably rude and unprofessional. We stopped in on our way through Woodland, it was nearing the end of our second day out of three of nonstop driving. We were exhausted and had about an hour left til our next hotel, so we said why not stop at this Applebee's for dinner so we can just crash when we get there. We were sat down shortly after coming in, had our meal (it was slow to come out but they were busy so not a huge deal) and once we were all done and packing back up while my husband finished his food, our waiter brought us one of those little screens that are usually on the table to begin with where you can pay at your table with minimal fuss. We paid it, not questioning it, and then were accused of not paying when we were leaving. Because we paid SOMEONE ELSE'S $100+ bill without realizing it. After getting into an argument with our server (the same one that brought us the wrong bill then went ahead with accusing us of not paying anyways) the manager came over and, after some discussion of what to do, had us pay our bill as well, assuring us we would be reimbursed for the $100+ bill and to call him if we weren't. This was the night of Jan 28 2023 if I remember correctly. Two weeks passed and we weren't reimbursed. So, I called. Not only was the SAME MANAGER we spoke to almost reluctant to even do anything about it, he tried to convince me that we used a different card, or that the $100+ bill was in fact our bill, even after I went over every item we had ordered and it came out to under $70. He even called me back after initially agreeing to get in contact with his billing people to say that he couldn't even see both transactions that I was talking about, but that he could "refund the $60-some now." No thank you. It is now Feb 23, and we finally have gotten the refund. Do not go to this Applebee's unless they are being run by an entirely new floor team and management team, this was ENTIRELY too much fuss for what was supposed to be a quick dinner. read more

This Applebee's is sooo good! I've come to this Applebee's several times and the food is always good. We got the 2 for $32 meal deal and the $15.99 all you can eat. The food came out hot and delicious! We also got the Blue Raspberry Lemon Drop, the Blue Hawaiian Long Island Ice Tea, and the Whisky Sour. All of the drinks were good, though I definitely recommend stirring the Whiskey Sour as the sweetness was at the bottom of the glass. And our waiter, Kevin, was superb! He was very friendly and enthusiastic. It was our friend's birthday and he took a really nice photo of us and did the Applebee's birthday song with several other employees to celebrate our friend. This Applebee's truly is our favorite in the area. It's always quick for us to be seated and I've yet to have a bad time here. My wings had zero crunch, almost like mush and wife's soup and salad were nothing special. As for spinach artichoke dip? Chips were somewhat stale but dip was good. Our server helped move the score up. She had a great personality and did a good job but the front desk host was not to be found and people would have to wait for some time to be seated. Based on this visit I give this Applebee's a generous 3 stars. We might be back if we opt to stay in this area again. Yesterday on June 13 we went there in the evening and we were told that there was wait, so we gave my wife's name which is Gina and American name and gave her phone number to this blonde hostess. We had to repeat the number about 15 times and she could not get it. After waiting for about 15 mins I went to ask how long the wait would be and I gave my wife's name to this guy host and he said she was not on the list and he offered to put us on the list of course way down on the list. Also again I had to repeat the number like 10 times. So after 10 mins I walked over to him to ask what was the status and he said we would get a SMS message. keep in mind we never saw a message come in all this time, so I peeked into his tablet and he had noted the number wrong. When I pointed out to him, he said it was correct and told me he had put an +1 for international call. I would like someone from that Applebees to call me and I will repeat the phone number and tell me if my accent is that bad. I have always loved Applebee's and been to many of them around the country and always enjoyed the food and the service. I do not typically go to Applebee's restaurants. However, I had occasion to eat at this restaurant for a recent business meeting. My colleagues and I sat at the bar and Noemi, the bartender, was our server. She was very nice and did say initially (like most places these days) they had a couple of call offs and were short staffed. In spite of Noemi's concern about the speed of service and a shortage of staff, she and the people who assisted her were all very attentive.
