It can get a bit loud at times, but it's always fun--a great place to cheer for your favorite team and connect with fellow fans. The atmosphere is energetic and laid-back, with plenty of screens. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which definitely makes the visit even more enjoyable. I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at Tom's Bar was extremely disappointing. We made reservations well in advance, paid ahead of time, and even arrived more than an hour early. We were third in line for the reservation queue, so we expected that arriving early would help us get decent seating. Instead, we were assigned seats on the open patio directly in the blazing sun. The patio umbrellas weren't working, making the seating area unbearably hot on a warm afternoon. We politely asked if we could be moved to another table, but the staff was unwilling to accommodate us. When general admission opened, we even offered to give up our reserved seats and move into the general admission section instead. Despite there being an opportunity to make that happen, our request was again denied. After only 15-20 minutes, we had no choice but to leave because the conditions were simply unbearable. Paying in advance, arriving early, and still receiving the worst seats--with no willingness to help find a reasonable solution--made for a very frustrating experience. Customer service is about solving problems when they arise. Unfortunately, that didn't happen here, and it left us with a very poor impression of Tom's Bar. We missed a good part of the World Cup Finals which was the main purpose of going there. Costed us in fee and parking and lots of unnecessary anxiety! read more

Came here to watch the World Cup, and thanks to being on their email list, I scored free tickets to the watch party! I believe there's normally a $20 cover charge, so it was a nice perk. One tip: make a reservation in advance. We were able to skip the long line, which made getting in quick and easy. My party of four was seated on the patio, but honestly, there's really no bad seat in the house. Tom's has TVs everywhere, so you'll have a great view of the game no matter where you're sitting. For food, we ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, fries, fried pickles, and I grabbed a beer. Everything was tasty, but the standouts were definitely the fries and fried pickles. The fries came out piping hot, crispy, and fresh, making them surprisingly one of my favorite items of the meal. I will say the prices are on the higher side, but for a big sporting event, I think it's well worth it. The atmosphere was amazing, the crowd made the experience even more fun, and the service was exceptional. Even though the restaurant was absolutely packed, our food came out quickly, and our server checked on us frequently throughout the game. Great atmosphere tonight! There's a watch party going on over here for the World Cup, and the customers are so involved. Our server, Adam was great. He suggested the Prime Rib Dip, which looked delicious, but they were out of the white cheese, so I got to try it without the cheese. That was very good too, so I can't wait to come back and try it WITH the cheese. The sauce (au jus) is a thicker sauce, and with the horseradish sauce, was the perfect complement. Came today for the World Cup Final, and barely made it to a bar spot as we did walk-in, not reservations. Love the drinks, love the electric vibe. We were seated on the outdoor patio, and luckily we had misters and shade to counter the 95 degree heat. The food here is just okay and overpriced for what it is. Calamari is too chewy and bland, bacon burger and tri tip are also ok. I'd only recommend the wings out of what I've tried so far on the menu. Came here for the first times with friends for a UFC fight warch party. There were 6 if us so we fot a table to the right, reas area near the large set of flat screens on the wall. Ordered: Strawberry Mule Jamaican Jerk Wings Service was good. Food was good. Environment was great for social gatherings around sports. When we arrived, 30 minutes before the USA played in the World Cup. There was already a line to get in, but there was plenty of seating. I was shocked that there still so many seats available. I thought due to there was a game prior that the place would be packed and we would be lucky to get a seat. They had 2 lines to get in, the VIP line and the regular line. The line was super slow even with 3 hostesses. They were seating everyone so that is what took so much time. When we got to the front of the line they asked up if we had reservations. I had no idea that this was a reservation type of place. Next they informed us that there was a $20 cover fee. I think that is per group not per person, but I'm not really sure. For $20 we were ready to turn around and go home or to another place that didn't charge. We were totally shocked that there was an entrance fee. We had no idea that they would do something like that. We've been here once before for a Sunday NFL game and there was no cover charge. Thankfully the guy in front of us asked if it was free to sit at the outside bar and they said yes. So, after we were informed of the $20 fee we took the lead from the guy in-front of us and headed for the outdoor bar. For free you'd think the place would be packed. Thankfully it was virtually empty. We had almost any seat to choose from. We grabbed the third table, which had the best view of one of the many TVs. We're so thankful that we arrived early. As time went on the place did fill up and soon it was standing room only and people were actually standing and watching the game. We gave up our third chair to a larger party that wanted to sit together, their group did block the walkway, but no one said anything, they just went around the other side of the bar or squeezed though which was difficult. We ate dinner before we arrived to save money. Though once you see the menu you have to order something as everything looked so good. I really wanted to get the cheesecake as it was the only dessert they had. If they had a hot fudge Sunday, I would have totally got that. Instead I let my husband pick as everything looked so good and it was hard to decide. He ordered something that I wasn't eyeing, but I trusted him in his decision. He ordered the CRISPY CHICKEN & CORNBREAD PANCAKE Sweet cornbread pancakes, pickle-brined and hand-battered premium crispy chicken tenders, honey butter, maple syrup. The sweet cornbread was amazing. I love the edges, it was so buttery. The centers were also good with the honey butter, but not as good as the edges. The crispy chicken was really crispy to perfection. And it came out so hot, I almost burned my mouth it was so hot. We really didn't use the maple syrup. We dipped the chicken it it once, so as we tried it didn't really enhance the dish. Next time I'm going to just eat dinner at Tom's Watch Bar as everything looked so good. Also I've read other reviews and people have really liked the food. I though they had some sliders, but I didn't see them on the menu. They did have a Prime Rib Dip, but that isn't a slider. Sitting outside in the bar was great for the price. It did get a little chilly and I wished I had worn jeans and brought a sweater. Next time I'll check the weather for the evening and dress appropriately. I did have a jacket in the car so my husband went back to the car for me at half time and he also grabbed our emergency blanket to wrap around our legs. That really helped. They had plenty of pretty clean bathrooms. It didn't smell really refreshed, but it wasn't bad either. They had I believe 4 stalls so if there were a line it would move fast. I went right after half time in hopes there wasn't a line and there wasn't. It is a little hidden, but they are good at pointing you to it. I thought it was on the way to the kitchen and it might have been if you went right as the bathrooms are on the left. Parking at the Downtown Commons (DOCO) typically costs $6.00 per hour, with every additional 20 minutes priced at $2.00, up to a $32.00 daily maximum. During peak events at the Golden 1 Center, flat event rates often apply, and nearby garages offer varying hourly or daily rates. It cost us $18 to park. It seems like you can park at the old Macy's parking lot for $15. That's so much a better deal, but it also seems sketchy. Is it legit or are people just collecting money due to it's an empty lot. I think the price of parking is really expensive. I think we should have walked as it was daylight going there and it would be daylight going home. In addition it wasn't too hot. So back to the $20 entrance fee. Knowing this I am hesitant to return. I do see the advantage of arriving early so you can get a seat outside so that isn't bad. Came here in a Sunday and there was no wait and we were sat by a big screen to watch love island. Our waiter was really funny and patient with all of our requests. Incredible talent and multitasking, keeping the very different age groups and backgrounds entertained. Large footprint and they make the most of it; with plenty of options for seating. I like this place - except for on big Football game days. I came on Sat Jan 17th at 5pm for the 49ers vs Seahawks game. I stood at the bar waiting just for some water and an ice tea for 40min. Didn't even get eye contact, greeted, or acknowledged or a we will be right with you. I mean I know they were busy AF - but there needs to be a better system. For water - maybe just having some self serve stations will help. It's a good spot for pre-Kings game gathering especially with the open patio right in front. They still make the best Mai Tai Mocktail. Food has been good too. Sign up for their e-mail and they give a $1 drink of choice as a sign up reward (or at least used to). Living in Natomas,we forever had a local place we would watch UFC pay-per-view events.I would say around summer of last year i wanted to try out a new spot to watch UFC,so I decided to go downtown to DoCo and watch UFC at Tom's Watch Bar. So far I'd say I watched 3 or 4 events there and I can honestly say that my experiences there have been great-all of them. First off the environment for these UFC nights are always electric-tons of people,mostly people in age ranges between 20-40 but there are a few old heads like myself there as well checking out the fights.Most of the event nights I attended I showed up right as the main event was beginning so I'd say 90-95% of the tables were occupied.Ive been very lucky though every time because a very helpful hostess always found a great spot for my wife and I to enjoy the fights. We generally have stuck to beers on fight nights and they range from around $9-$11 for a 16 ounce and from $12-$14 for 23 ounce beer-pretty normal prices for the area. As far as food on all our visits the only thing we have ever gotten was the Ahi TunaTower($16.49).This is a favorite of ours-perfect food to munch on while in a festive mood-it's my Go-To food item here.I do see people ordering so many delicious looking items from burgers to nachos to various sandwiches and it all looks great,but I've only had the Ahi Tuna Tower. I know back in the day there used to be a $10 admission fee to get in here on UFC nights but they must've scrapped that because I've never had to pay anything since I started going there again for UFC. Parking is plentiful in the area with various street parking and the DoCo underground garage available,which does come with validation from Tom's if I remember correctly. Now I know recently UFC has changed their model a bit and their PPV events won't be as hard to watch,that being said,do I still think it's worth going out to a place like Toms to watch these events?YES YES YES!!!...There is nothing like watching UFC in an electric environment like Tom's provides,so I do see myself going forward still heading downtown to watch future events at my new favorite downtown spot-Tom's Watch Bar-I will see you there. read more

Since Twin Peaks closed down, I heard this was a good option to watch the Super Bowl at. Despite getting there an hour and a half before the game started, there was a line at the door. I stood there waiting for at least 10 minutes-- mind you, on a bad leg. No idea why it was taking so long. When I finally got to the front, I asked if there was seating at the bar since I was by myself. They said I could only stand there to get drinks. What? I literally came here for the seating at the bar based off the pictures I had seen online where people were able to sit at... There was no seating available inside, so they said I could try my luck in the outdoor area. I walked to the outdoor area, but there were no tables available. I asked a random man if I could sit with him and luckily he gave me permission to. There were high top and standard tables out there. Unfortunately for me, the one I could sit at was a high top. The seat of the chairs looked like wicker, or something similar, but had no padding. They had plenty of TVs, so you could watch at any angle. There was no shade from the sun for the high tops, but there were a few large umbrellas for the standard tables. There were also no patio heaters available when it got chilly at night. I had to walk to the bar and ask for a menu. It was decent, but the selection was not as good as Twin Peaks, and nowhere near as many options as Yard House. I ordered chicken tenders and fries. They were delivered fairly quickly despite the place being so packed. The chicken tenders were flaky, crispy, and flavorful-- not like the ones you usually get at restaurants. The fries were okay. The ranch and blue cheese were good. The beer selection was lackluster. I asked for a cider, but the only thing they had available was Angry Orchard. The service was practically nonexistent. I had to wait at the bar and get their attention if I wanted to order, get a refill, or have the table cleared. The bartenders were friendly, though. The only waiters I saw were there to pass out jello shots and the servers seemed to prioritize the standard tables and indoor seating. Once the game started, there were so many people standing around the bar. People were constantly bumping into our table trying to get around those at the bar. The TV was super loud and located directly over my chair. We asked if they could turn the volume down, but they did not. When I went inside to use the restroom, there was puke at the entrance and paper towels scattered all over the floor. Luckily, the stalls were still stocked with toilet paper, but there was water everywhere. First impression of this place was terrible. I would not recommend coming here to watch the Super Bowl. My friend and I came here on my birthday (Mar 19) to watch NCAA basketball. It wasn't super busy when we arrived around 1 pm, and more people left after we arrived (maybe the lunch crowd). Christina was our bartender. While she was nice, she didn't check on us much. The bar back guy was more attentive, and it wasn't his job. My friend and I had to ask to water, more drinks, order food, etc. Christina walked by multiple times, but didn't ask us if we were ok. I have been to Tom's on multiple occasions, and the service has been better when it was packed. My request: have more people working or make sure the bartender checks on the patrons more often. My sister worked with Ricardo Aidan and Zaria to get a birthday party planned at Tom's Watch Bar to celebrate her husband. They were all thorough to ensure the event went on without a hitch. I am so impressed with the amazing level of service we received. The serving staff was phenomenal. Especially tonight as Tom's Watch Bar hosted the Canelo vs Crawford fight and there was a concert at the Golden 1 Center. The place was packed wall to wall and the staff gave my large group so much attention and ensured all our drinks came out promptly and food was correct, hot and fresh. The manager Will was walking around greeting customers. We ordered as a table lots of appetizers. The deep dish nachos, spinach artichoke dip, wings, pan seared potstickers and lots of drinks. All the food was fantastic and came out perfect. I will def be planning to come out again with a large group. The whole vibe is upbeat, has good music, a million tvs and great staff. I came for a watch party and paid the $40 VIP fee. Honestly, I didn't feel it was worth the extra cost. My seat was directly under one of the TVs. There are plenty of TVs throughout the venue, but the larger ones behind the bar looked a bit faded and weren't very clear. From my seat, I often had to look around other people to see the game, which wasn't the experience I expected. Sitting directly under a large TV also felt awkward, almost like everyone was looking in my direction, and I accidentally hit my head on the corner of the TV a couple of times. The inside was packed. So we opted to sit at the outside bar. There were plenty of seats at the bar, as well as tables on the outside. The only downside was there wasn't any heaters, but if you get seated from inside and sit outside, those tables do have heaters. They have all the liquor choices outside but only two beers on tap. It was so hot inside, it felt like the A/C just couldn't keep up. Sitting outside with the misters probably would've been the better move. Because it was packed, the service was very slow, like VERY SLOW. we waited quite a while for everything. They have a solid drink and beer selection, but the food left a lot to be desired. We tried the nachos, burgers, Jamaican wings, and dill pickle battered chicken tenders. Everyone in our group agreed the food was just okay. I was especially disappointed with the chicken tenders. 3 out of 5 were more batter than chicken, which was a letdown. Overall, I wouldn't recommend going here when there's a concert or game at Golden 1. It seems like the staff just can't keep up with the crowd. Tom's is a great place to watch any sporting event! It is a mix between a sports bar and a nightclub. It can get very loud in the restaurant, so if you're looking for something intimate or a place to hold a quiet conversation, this is not your place. Once you adapt to the loud environment and you flag down your waiter or waitress, you won't be disappointed by the food. The food is really good! The French dip is in a league of its own. Fantastic!! My husband loves their wings and my little man loves their Mac and cheese with bacon. Although the wait staff is very friendly and nice, I'm giving 4 stars because of the spotty service.
