Unfortunately, my experience with some of AppleOne's Glendale recruiters has been extremely disappointing. After our initial conversation, I never received any meaningful follow-up from Mike or Diana Flores. Despite promises to send over opportunities and updates, nothing ever came. I followed up multiple times and was either ignored or given vague responses. Diana never responds back to emails or phone calls even though she has initiated the call. It felt like they completely forgot about me after the first call. My experience with Apple one, did not meet my expectations. I was referred by family members who have worked with Apple one and had good experiences in the past but when I went to the Glendale location I was turned away by a sign that said online interviews only, with a number to call. So I immediately called and when the woman asked what experience I had I said I only have 4 years of customer service experience but I'm willing to learn any skills necessary. I've never been so embarrassed, the woman's response was so rude she sighed and said "yeah... we don't work with restaurant people." I was so taken back by her rude tonality and response that I got nervous and apologized. I then asked if she knew of any entry level employment services and she flat out told me "no." I've never had such a unpleasant experience and from what my family has said, Apple one used to help people with entry level positions and obtaining the skills required for those positions so it was really sad to see the unwillingnessly of the representative over the phone. If anyone knows of any other employment services available I'd love to hear about it. read more

I was looking forward to the opportunity to work with AppleOne. I scheduled an interview with the Pasadena office and called a few days ahead to confirm the details. During my conversation with their helpful staff, they suggested I reach out to the Glendale branch because they thought my background in the entertainment industry would be a better fit there. I rescheduled the interview and called the branch to confirm the details a few days before my appointment. I spoke with a woman who made me feel discouraged and unemployable. There was no constructive criticism, no guidance, just a firm belief that my work history and experience were unsuitable for employment. I expressed my willingness to do any job and to receive feedback on my resume to improve my chances of being hired for a secretarial or office processing position, but she was not receptive. AppleOne could not offer me a position, so I removed my resume. I ended that call feeling very disheartened and uncertain about my prospects. I was open to feedback; all I received was a blunt and unhelpful "no." I understand AppleOne is not a charity, and I'm not entitled to anything. However, considering my 15+ years of project-based office and managerial experience, especially when many skilled individuals seek opportunities in fields different from their original careers, I would expect more of a conversation or some constructive feedback. Apple one is most of the most beautiful places to work. They have loved me sinced I first started. I tell them all them time I love them and they say it back. Anne Browne called me and checked on me several times when I was sick, not to fire me but to check on me. She saw I missed days and she called me and told me I had sick hours. She emailed my employer and explained my situation and I'm still working at Huntington hospital, because of her. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLLYYY planned to completely off-set the horrible reviews of all of the Apple One locations. I tried to go into the situation with a clean slate and not expect much and therefore, not be too disappointed. Well, that didn't work so well and you can add me to the negative reviews. Perhaps, Apple One should hire the hundreds of employees it is supposedly trying to find work for and fire the current staff because they aren't doing a very good job. I initially interviewed at a Act-1 location which is the sister company of Apple One so you can cross register. They were going to send my info over to the Apple One in Sherman Oaks for me to interview with them. The Sherman Oaks Apple One proceeded to tell me they focus on medical jobs versus the entertainment industry which is my field so they will keep me on file but that they can't really help me. However, they suggested to try this Glendale location because they specifically work with the big-name entertainment company contenders. I called this location to make an appointment at which the receptionist told me that they can't help me because I am "overqualified". Basically, although they work with entertainment companies and I have a wonderful background which such; my background is in the marketing realm with actual marketing titles like "Marketing Rep", for example. They said that although I am capable and willing to do clerical jobs, I am overqualified and the companies pass up such resumes favoring people that ONLY have worked clerical jobs. Although, disappointed and surprised, I was glad with her honesty. Then, I realized they are bullshit and why the reviews are so low. I proceeded to check their website and the SAME DAY I was told I'm overqualified; a position as a Publicity Assistant for an entertainment company was posted which is EXACTLY my background. I was very upset and annoyed. I called to ask why I was told they can't meet with me but here is a job I'm NOT overqualified for. The woman, in an annoyed tone, said "fine" I can come in next week. I don't even know if I want to go in. The damage has been done. Unemployment doesn't discriminate... maybe they shouldn't either. read more

I must have gotten a grouchy recruiter or I reminded her of someone she just does NOT like! Given these tumultuous times and the stress of being unemployed bc of Covid, finding the right job has taken on a new meaning! I am an experienced executive assistant and want to make sure the jobs I apply to, not only tick all the boxes, but are relevant to my background and to the potential employer's. The recruiter (at the Glendale location) and I, connected on a zoom call after a couple hiccups. Then, while on the Zoom call, something happens with her sound, so she had to call me, which was fine. I continued to tell her about my past work experience and wanted to be upfront with the types of companies I was interested in working for. I was hopeful, the recruiter was at least taking into consideration my background and not just a commission. The job she called me about had absolutely nothing to do with what I was looking for and was 15 plus miles away. Which, in LA traffic terms, means an hour to an hour and a half, one way. I could tell she was just going through the motion and not really listening to me. She was cold, she looked so over the interview, I just wanted to hang up. Oh... I left out her impatient disrespectful sighs over the phone which where very AUDIBLE! To make a long story even longer.... At the end of the Zoom interview, she thought she had disconnected, however, she had NOT hung up her phone, and I heard her say to someone... "kill me...". I even commented, haha I heard that, "kill me..." She hung up her phone without even an apology or some quasi believable excuse! Not sure who runs this office, but it would be a good idea to remind the recruiters, they need US more than we need their services! I went to apple one based on the recommendation that it was the "best" temp agency in town. I am a graduate student and needed a job for the summer. I thought, oh, of course I can get some crappy office job from the temp agency. I went in first day and filled out all the forms, which took about an hour and a half. Tons of forms that sign away your privacy, enable background checks, etc. On these you have the opportunity to check off skills like exel, word, quickbooks, etc. I did this. Instead of taking my word for knowing these skills (which I know from working for years in management/administration level positions), they needed me to take tests to prove what I checked. So, I took the tests: data entry, typing, entourage, excel, quickbooks, word. It took about 6 hours. I had to go in two days to complete them. I passed them all with high scores. Then I was supposed to start calling in 3 times a week to tell them I was available to work. Um, if I weren't available to work, I wouldn't be at Apple One. Did they EVER have work for me? NO. I signed up and began calling at the beginning of July. I also "cross-registered" with all of their branches. I finally got a call yesterday. By now, I am back in school.... I already spent my summer in poverty. They wanted to know if I was available to work a temporary assignment first week of October for 90 minutes. 90 MINUTES? Are they f*&%%n kidding me? As if it would be worth my time to work ANY job for 90 minutes? This place has no jobs. I have a bachelors degree from a very prestigious liberal arts college, 4 years high level work experience, a plethora of skills, and am almost done with my masters degree. And it's not like I was prepared to be picky about work assignments. They literally never offered me anything until the 90 minutes of work yesterday. THIS PLACE IS AN UTTER WASTE OF YOUR TIME. I had much more luck looking for jobs and getting interviews myself. read more

Then went into the office where I spent several more hours completing forms, taking paper tests, the Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook tests, and the typing test. Scored great on every single one. Called three times a week between 8:00-9:00AM for five straight weeks letting them know I was available for work. Kept my employment status up to date on their website. Not a single job, interview, call back, anything. They tell me right now only people who've already gotten jobs through them are getting callbacks, and no one else is getting jobs. Whatever the hell else you can grade a temp agency on, first and foremost, you grade them on their ability to find you a job. Apple One failed. read more

I'm with Veronica on this one. Some of you just seem like you're never going to be pleased no matter what. It's a temp agency, and frankly, the job market completely sucks. So, those of you complaining and saying "OMG I CALL EVEYR DAY AND NOTHING!!1one!!!11!one"...well, guess what? That's the way things are right now. They suck. Things are pretty bad in the job market, ladies and gents, so just deal with it. Looks like you're just gonna have to work harder to get what you want. I actually have a lot of sympathy for them. I don't envy being the one to have to tell a ton of people every day that there's simply nothing out there right now. I'm sure many of you are qualified, but the reality is, they have to sift through an ungodly amount of resumes/applications every day to fill a small number of positions. To those of you complaining about having to call every day...guess what that does? It keeps you fresh on their minds for when new positions come up, so even if you don't get a job for a few weeks, they know you're looking and that you want to work. It WILL pay off, trust me. Based on what I've read from some of you, I'm not surprised you haven't found work because some of you act as if you're entitled to a job. I have a degree from a top public university, but I've had no problems whatsoever working odd jobs to make ends meet. I've worked as a server, law office courier, dishwasher, landscaper, actor, audio/video technician...anything to keep me busy and my cash flow strong. That's just the nature of our situation today; those who put in the effort will be rewarded. I've been with AppleOne since May and there were periods of time where they simply didn't have something. That didn't stop me from calling every day, finding a full-time job IS a full-time job. If you filled out an application, took all the tests, and filled out the paperwork for AppleOne...then sat back waiting for a job...guess what? You're an idiot. You should be using multiple avenues of approach to find work, not simply sending off anonymous resumes online for an hour then calling it a day. Think about the number of people doing that every day (thousands) and the person who sifts through the resumes. You're about as likely to win the lottery than you are to be responded to after sending an anonymous resume online. I informed AppleOne that I would work any job they had come up, no matter what it was, every single time I called. Every. Single. Time. Additionally, every job I worked through AppleOne, whether it was with Disney or a small business nobody's ever heard of, I personally thanked my supervisor and sent them Thank-You notes for allowing me to work for them...and guess what, I eventually landed a long-term gig with a great company (actually, it's my 2nd time working for this company). People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. I'm grateful for all the hard work the employees of AppleOne do for me and everybody else struggling to find work. They've been a major reason why my 2010 has gone pretty well when it could have been a disaster financially. So thank you, AppleOne. I appreciate your employees hard work very much and am looking forward to working with them in the future. read more

My recruiter was young but professional. With AppleOne, I felt they sent me on jobs that were my current level or a bit lower. They definitely didn't take the chance to submit me to higher positions like another recruiter did. They salaries of the jobs I got submitted to seemed like average for Los Angeles, which could be a good or bad thing depending on what one's level or expectations. I actually ended up getting my own job pretty quickly that allowed me to travel the world and did not have much time to progress with them. My advice is to use recruiters as a resource but never to fully rely on one. They are only a certain percentage of the job market and it's best to make yourself available to a larger percentage by still continuing your own search. read more

To be honest, I was disappointed 4 years ago and didn't pay them a visit until earlier this year when I found myself out of work again. I decided to give them another try... and I am so happy that I did! Lyth is the best recruiter I've ever had! With all other recruiters, I struggle to get them on the phone or reply to an email. But I never had to do this with Lyth. He not only initiates contact, but he remembers when I will become available again for work after a short-term gig. He also remembers what kind of work I'm looking for. All of the above is very hard to come by in most recruiters. I truly feel like he cares. Janet, the branch manager is also wonderful! I applied for a job and ended up getting a call from AppleOne. For reasons beyond me, they wanted me to drive all the way out to Glendale instead of the nearby office just so I could speak with one particular agent/lady/whatever. First of all, when I apply for a job listing that says $35k a year, I am applying for THAT JOB, not a temp agency. Unfortunately, I was mistaken in believing that maybe I could find a permanent or temp-to-hire job through these guys. So I went anyways. When I arrived, I had to fill out ANOTHER series of forms on top of the hour-long online application I completed the night before. I then had to watch a time-consuming video teaching common sense and take an absurdly simple test on the computer. When I finally spoke to the woman I came out there for, she wasn't exactly the nicest person around. I've encountered worse, but it was obvious that she was in a rush to get to the next person. She only glanced at my resume, mentioned one job was available (which I was never contacted about), and moved on to the next poor sucker. All in all, it was a waste of ~3 hours. I understand that the economy is still floundering and there aren't a lot of jobs out there, but I'm annoyed that they posted a job, called me in for an interview that had nothing to do with it, and made me drive forty-five minutes one way for absolutely no reason whatsoever. If I'm not qualified for the job, leave me alone. Don't make me drive a half hour in good traffic to apply for your mediocre temp agency that, judging from the other reviews here, can't seem to place people. read more

That one phone call alone was the beginning of the end. First of all, there was no employee by that name or ss#. Effing Fishing expedition.....Second, this recruiter/con artist caught me at the perfect time as I was having some difficulty finding help for the office. Although I think the sales rep was actually quite honest, and respectful, I believe the load of bullshit that the Apple One Company spews is absolutely useless. They say they test to find the right type of employees for You and YOU alone. As my old Geometry teacher use to say...."BULL PUCKY". They find the most perfect useless, undriven, workers out there. 15 Interviews. 6 Job Offers of the 15. Two quit less than a week into the job. Others declined the offer because it lacked benefits AND it didnt pay a minimum of 15-18 per hour. Dude.....what happened to earning your way to that pay scale? Nothing in life is handed for free.
