I had to replace the SAMSUNG refrigerator. I bought a Whirlpool. The service tech I paid him close to $200 just so he could tell me that he couldn't fix it. He came out once and said the refrigerator was working. 24 hours later everything was thawed. He came back and looked at again and said the "closed compressor" was shot and said he was new and didn't know how to replace a closed compressor. He estimated a repair cost of $700. The refrigerator cast $700 new (9 years ago). $200 wasted and a whole freezer full of food gone. The tech was a nice guy. He recommended that I go to a used appliance store to buy one for less. I don't think I want someone else's problem. BTW Do not buy SAMSUNG. They don't stand behind their appliances. (Costco had the same size Whirlpool for $700 which is working perfectly.) read more

I was supposed to accept your apology for no call back, while wasting precious time of mine. I became annoyed with your cavalier attitude on the phone, having to chase your company down to initiate my service call. I have a vintage Amana Radarange that needs my START button replaced. The unit is disassembled as I replaced one part myself, as I explained. I wanted to know if you would agree to work on it. I used one bad word to describe my annoyance with your company. Instead of hearing me out and actually LISTENING---you hung up on me, saying that I was being disrespectful. Ma'm, your company never returned my call. Did you forget about this? Update: After posting my original review, I was contacted by the owner, Michael. During that conversation, he stated multiple times that my review did not reflect facts. I reiterated that the review was based solely on documented text communications regarding warranty terms, service fees, and scheduling. When I asked which specific statements were incorrect, no specific corrections were identified, and the call ended without clarification or resolution. I asked to never be contacted by this company again. Appliance Care and Repair serviced our washer and dryer in May 2025. At that time, we were told the repair included a one-year warranty. Yesterday, I contacted the company to schedule service for what I believed was a warranty issue. During the initial text communication, I was informed that the request qualified as a warranty repair and that it would receive priority scheduling. Later that same day, I was informed that the earlier communication was handled by an AI system, not a human representative. After communicating with a live customer service representative, I was informed that: * A service/diagnostic fee applies to have a technician come out * The fee is charged even for warranty checks * Any warranty coverage would be determined only after inspection * Scheduling availability was limited, not priority I requested a copy of the written warranty policy and contact from a supervisor (still waiting). The information provided by the AI system and the human representative was inconsistent regarding warranty status, scheduling priority, and fees. Customers BEWARE- you may want to request written warranty terms and confirm service charges with a live representative before scheduling. read more

This is my first bad review that I have ever left, so this tells you how bad my experience was with Appliance Care & Repair. I hired Appliance Care & Repair to service my freezer, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely upsetting. Kevin, the technician who came to perform the repairs, was unprofessional, impatient, and very rough with my $3,000+ freezer. During the service, he broke the part to be replaced and had to come back another day to install. He spoke with the technician he was training about cutting out a part, which I overheard. I asked about it and he showed me the part with the wires cut and said he bypassed it. He said he did not need it. After moving the freezer from its built-in enclosure, the door was left misaligned and wouldn't close properly. When I asked if he planned to level the unit, he responded rudely, saying he had other jobs and needed to leave--while cussing in the process. He did attempt to level the freezer but ended up breaking the leveler, which he claimed was already broken. That brought the total to two broken parts during his visit. Ultimately, I had to hire a different company to properly level the appliance. I called Appliance Care & Repair at least four times, asking to speak with the owner or manager, hoping to express my concerns directly. Unfortunately, I never received a call back. My intention was to resolve this privately, but since I did not receive a call back from the company, I'm left with no choice but to share my experience here. I sincerely hope this feedback helps others make informed decisions--and I wish the owner had taken the time to address this issue personally and professionally. Now my freezer is having additional issues and I have to find another company to make the repairs. I will not go back to Appliance Repair & Repair because of the service I received and because I was not contacted by the owner/manager to discuss my concerns. read more

Not only in time but early. Quickly identified issue. Ordered the part and replaced it ahead of schedule. Very reasonably priced.

To be fair, the initial consultation was prompt and on time--no issues there. However, the overall service left a lot to be desired. They charged $125 just to diagnose the problem, which turned out to be a straightforward replacement of a roller/belt/felt gasket kit. These parts are readily available on Amazon for around $49 (delivered). When the technician called to say he was on his way with the parts, I asked how much of the additional $350 due was for the parts alone. He told me $225--more than 4.5x the retail price. The actual repair time would've taken less than an hour. So when you break it down, that's a 450% markup on parts, and $250 for under 1.5 hours of labor. They advertise a "lifetime warranty," which I now understand--at that markup, they can afford to come back once or twice and still make a hefty profit. I asked to discuss a more reasonable price for the parts, but the technician left immediately after giving me the manager's contact info. I never received a phone call--only a text reply about 15-20 minutes later--saying they will not negotiate the part cost, and I'd be charged an additional $75 for the tech to return. Unfortunately, this reflects a growing trend of poor customer service in the trades. Many are skilled technicians but make very questionable business decisions. Our washer stopped working and we called Appliance Care and Repair on Saturday. They set up a time frame of 9-11 on Monday and called me a little before 10 to say they were on the way and would arrive within 20 mins, which they did Kevin was friendly and quick to diagnose the issue. I can't say we had a good experience with this company. The technician's first visit that cost us $100 was only about 3 minutes and he diagnosed the problem and told us wither certainty that it had to be the problem, there was no other possibility. The quote was about $450 & he said it would take 2 hours. Well, we ordered the part and tried to fix it ourselves. It took under 5 minutes to replace the part the tech told us was bad, so it's hard for me to understand the 2 hours they would charge us for a professional to do the job. Unfortunately, the new part did not fix the problem. We were back & forth in touch with the tech who told us to try a different part. All the while we were living with a mini-fridge & debating whether or not to buy a new fridge, but we wanted to at least try to fix it. When the new part still did not fix it, the tech agreed to come back at which point he realized he had completely misdiagnosed the issue at that first very fast visit. The new diagnosis he said was not worth the cost to fix it, that we should just get a new fridge. This new diagnosis came roughly a month after the misdiagnosis. I can't help but think if he had spent a little more time on that first visit, he wouldn't have been so sure his diagnosis was correct. had we hired them to do the job, do you think we'd have gotten our $450 back when that didn't fix the problem?? It's a relief we tried to fix it ourselves so we knew for certain that it was the wrong diagnosis. So we paid $100 for basically nothing. I am giving 2 stars because at least the technician did communicate with me (even though it took days to get a call back) and was willing to come back. I really think we should have been refunded the fee we paid, given the fact that the misdiagnosis resulted in a very difficult month of trying to get the fridge fixed, while had the diagnosis been accurate the first time, we would have immediately bought a new fridge and it would have saved us a lot of trouble! read more

I recieved service from Appliance Care and Repair. Yes, they did arrive promptly and did not have to wait much time to have my dishwasher assessed. My LG motor burnt out. Given that LG has a 10 year warranty on the motor, LG sent Appliance Care and Repair a replacement motor for me. It required an additional piece to be ordered that was not included in this delivery. Unfortunately it was on backorder. No problem, I would wait a bit more. When Appliance Care and Repair returned to my house once they were in receipt of that part, they had LOST the new motor. They claimed they left it in my dishwasher... I had not touched the disconnected dishwasher since the last time. To make matters worse, they advised me to LIE to LG and tell them that I was sent a faulty new motor so that another could be sent. This place lacks integrity and they are dishonest. I do not recommend them AT ALL. I since had to purchase a new appliance. read more

They fixed refrigerator, but froze some of my food in the process. And at this point are not answering or returning any of my calls, even though they owe me money for their mistake. They are also not turning in the paperwork to the warranty company so I can get a new microwave due to the issue with my microwave. After jumping through hoops with the manufacturer, home warranty and another appliance repair company for our less-than-one-year-old dryer, Jason from Appliance Care & Repair came out and quickly diagnosed our problem. Diagnosis and new part order were both accomplished in a few minutes. The other repair company had said that we had damaged the drum on the dryer, even though it has only seen light/normal household use. (apparently our clothes and towels are super-malicious). Jason assured us that it was a manufacturer's defect and that the problem would be covered under warranty. We will not hesitate to call these professionals back in the future... hopefully not to soon! read more

I am disappointed as Appliance Care and Repair charged $95 for a very short visit in which nothing was accomplished. I fully explained the problem to Tristan, as water was not flowing through the water line in the refrigerator to the water dispenser or the ice cube maker. Once here, the young repairman was not knowledgeable as to how to fix the problem; therefore, I do not believe the $95 fee was warranted. I chose Appliance Care & Repair when my washing machine broke because I wanted to support a local business. I am very glad that I did. Every interaction with everyone on staff, both the technician who came to my home and the staff in the office, was courteous and professional. I was able to get an appointment right away, and was given a reasonable quote that made repairing the machine a better choice than simply replacing it. The fee for the first service call applied to the labor of repairing the machine at a subsequent house call. When it turned out that the machine had more problems than the technician initially saw, he showed me what they were and advised me that machine wasn't worth repairing. He didn't charge a single penny beyond what I'd paid for that first service call, even though he'd already done quite a bit of work on the machine at the second visit. That approach inspired a lot of confidence and trust in me. I will definitely call them again if I need another appliance repaired. read more

Long post, but bottom line. Do not recommend. They did not stand behind their work when damaging our oven putting it back together and left me with an oven that doesn't work right a week before Thanksgiving. The owner will say the work was reassigned to a different company, and told the BBB that the warranty company will cover their damages, so they didn't warranty their work as stated on their website. After they originally worked on the oven and damaging it, Kevin, the owner now tells our warranty company that they don't work on Jennair. He hasn't returned the warranty company nor my calls. details: Appliance Care & Repair was selected for us by our home warranty to fix a latch on our JennAir oven. Kenneth was very polite and professional. He realized he would need a second indiv. to help move the 4 foot double oven/range combo. 2nd trip with latch part: It took 3 hours to change the latch, taking apart the entire oven. He took all four oven doors off, the cooktop and completely disassembled the unit. When done, the right-sided oven door didn't align and close correctly- which he noted. He wiggled it a bit and it seemed to close. Upon using the right-sided oven the first time, I couldn't get it to preheat to 425 degrees and realized the door wasn't closing completely and heat was escaping. In addition, upon closer look, the left side of the unit was not fully screwed in and there was a gap. Most concerning, I needed to flip the circuit breaker to get the start buttons to work. Another call to Home Warranty Co. to have ACR recalled to repair what they damaged. I asked to have a more senior repair person come out since this is a $1300 unit and I was concerned this was the first time Kenneth ever worked on this model. Third trip: Kevin, who is one of the owners, came with Kenneth. After looking at the start button issue, his comment was "I don't know how this oven works". Re: the gap- we'll fix that when we return with the parts. Re: the oven door, he pointed out a bend in the metal that neither Kenneth nor I could see and said someone must have stood on the door. I pointed out a crease in the metal where the screws were tighted too tight when they put it back together the last time. As Kevin left, he said, I'll call my buddy that knows about JennAir and look at the wiring diagram. We'll likely need to order a new control board (for the starter) and hinges. I'll call your warranty company to confirm. Next thing I hear from the warranty company is Kevin states he doesn't fix JennAir (yet they list them on their website, and Kenneth worked on it the previous visits) and then Kevin wouldn't return the home warranty manager's calls to clarify what he means. SO, the warranty company had to assigned a new company to come out since Thanksgiving was 5 days away. Before posting, I wanted to make sure I heard Kevin's side of the story to the warranty company so called their office. I was told the job was reassigned to a different company. I asked to have Kevin call me to explain why that was the case since they warranty their work according to their website. No call two days later (after he was back at work). Final detail- the warranty company has removed them as service providers based on this situation. If you have a high-end appliance, look elsewhere. read more

I have an issue with the icemaker in my Samsung refrigerator leaking water and freezing over. The tech, Jason, came to my home and added caulking to the icemaker component with the hopes that it would solve the problem. Unfortunately, it did not. Jason came back again at no charge and told me there was really nothing more he could do because Samsung does not have a replacement part.
