They sent Brendan (Brandon?) out to take a look at our LG refrigerator, he diagnosed the issue (compressor failure, which we pretty much knew already), but then it was not clear how we would go about getting service performed under the LG warranty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He said we needed to talk to LG about it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ended up using another appliance repair company, and they took care of dealing with the warranty with LG. Paid $125 for diagnosis, but no repair. Not exactly helpful (especially when dealing with a refrigerator). read more

I keep trying this company because my brother recommended them to me and I trusted his judgement however, I find they tell me every time I need to replace rather than repair my appliances. Seems a ridiculous practice for a repair service. This most recent time was the last straw. My dishwasher leaked water. The repairman, Brian said he could not find an issue with the dishwasher. When he left it was running but it kept running until I finally had to unplug it. When I called them again to schedule a second service call they again recommended I replace the dishwasher saying it was 9 years old. It is not a 9 year old dishwasher! I know when we installed it. The date inside the door says it was made 9 years ago but we haven't had it that long and it was bought new. They basically took my trip fee without even attempting to help. Our oven wasn't holding temp. All our DIY attempts to fix it had failed, so I spun the roulette wheel of "which appliance shop should I pick?" and Yelp pointed me here (plus a few others I called/looked at seemed sketch). I liked the interaction I had with the appointment scheduler, and she told me the tech for our area (David I think) was a no B.S. type who would be direct on if it's fixable or not. The tech communicated well before arrival, ran a few tests on the oven and determined it could be DIY fixed with a $30 part from Amazon. As were were paying the visit charge, I asked if he worked on fridges too. I told him about the problem we've had for over a decade with the fridge door not sealing well, and that someone told us it would be hundreds to fix. He opened the door, closed it and said it's just a cheap plastic part we could get on Amazon as well (and DIY replace). In short, both parts were exactly what we needed, we paid about $90 for the service call, bought $30 and $7 parts from Amazon, replaced both parts ourselves (well, my husband did) and saved probably $2,000 for not having to replace our appliances. We discovered a leak somewhere in the water line to the fridge. Tech was out in about 30 minutes. I explained the problem, and the tech immediately suspected that the line was rubbing against the back of the stove. He pulled the stove out, and sure enough, that was it. He patched the line, and moved it up about a foot so it won't rub against the back of the stove anymore. In and out in about 40 minutes, and he charged just a little more than the service call fee. We called Affordable on Thursday to see if they could come out on Friday to look at a washing machine. They scheduled the appt for Friday am to noon. The technician calls on Friday and cancels for bad injury, but would be over on Saturday between noon and 3. The technician, same one, called today saying they were sick and be over on Tuesday. I found this company via google and they had great reviews so I called them. I have a Samsung fridge that is a part of the ongoing lawsuit and when I booked the diagnosis, I informed them that we had one of those fridges and provided them with the serial number and details and let them know the ice maker stopped working all together and that is a new issue and that our fridge is no longer under a warranty so we wanted to have to looked at to see if we can fix it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The representative (Bailey) was so nice and booked us an appointment on 11/6 for a diagnosis and informed me the tech would be informed of the details.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The tech (Brady) arrived on time and was very nice but was only at our house for 5 min took one look pulled out the ice tray and said he can't do anything since these fridges are known for these issues and told us to go buy a steamer and to try to heat steam out some of the frozen ice and see if that helps. He said he had to charge me the fee to come look at it. I hesitantly paid it and he quickly left. He wasn't even in my house longer than 10 minutes and didn't really do a diagnosis of anything. Fast forward a week, we bought the steamer and steamed the ice maker out and it was still having the same issue of not making any ice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So, I called back and informed them that the tech didn't really look/diagnose it and I want him to come back out and actually pull the fridge out and diagnose it and for us to not be charged the diagnosis fee again. They booked us a follow up appointment at no charge.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A few days later they called us back and said they will not be able to come do anything for us since these fridges are known for issues and are under a lawsuit at this time. I asked then why did they come and charge us to begin with if they knew they were not going to be able to help us? It should have never been booked to start with if they were never going to be able to do anything for us. I asked for a refund of the diagnosis fee since they really didn't do anything and they had the operations manager (Jessica) contact me and after our discussion she agreed to the refund our payment. She mentioned we would see it in a few days. A few days passed and I still did not see the refund so I gave them a follow up call again Bailey was nice enough to assist but Jessica was out of office and despite the agreement her and I made the week prior for a refund Bailey informed me that the owner is now refusing to refund our payment as it was a diagnosis fee. I explained that I would like to speak with him directly and have not heard back and that if they do not refund my payment as agreed I will contact my bank and dispute it. Which is what I had to do. First, our fridge was NEVER diagnosed and they should have never booked the appointment and should have not taken our money knowing they could not help us. They tech wasn't even at our home for longer than 10 min. We were promised a refund and the owner is going back on it and refused. Despite most of the team being nice this company and its Owner are just after your money. I NEVER will recommend them to anyone. Save your money and find a better and more trust worthy company who will actually perform the task you pay for and keep their word and take care of their customers. read more

Wonderful service. They called before they got to my house to fix our freezer that was not draining and freezing water in the bottom. Two individuals helped each other diagnose and fix the issue. They explained the issue to me very clearly and provided a reasonable quote. They were able to get everything put back together. Nothing was broken. They did a fair job in cleaning up. A couple things to be aware, have your own towels ready (they didn't bring their own), have a broom ready and have your freezer completely empty before they arrive. As part of the appointment process, including this detail would've been nice to know ahead of time. All in all, the individuals that did the repair were perfect. My rental house needed repair or replacement of a GE Refrigerator. They sent a tech out to diagnose the problem. I was unfortunately not impressed. The tech did not even open the door to the freezer or refrigerator. He took one look and said oh it's the computer board the cost with installation is about $495. He did notlook at anything else. Just made his guess. Walked out after 2 minutes. Another company came in and took the time to disassemble the unit found Freon leaks and a few other issues. Did a much more thorough inspection. By far the hardest company to get ahold of that I've ever done business with. We own a dozen properties in the valley and i tried using them on two of our properties. I've attached my text log with the company, it's been months and i haven't been able to get anyone out and repair what i had diagnosed.
