Thieves. Called them for service. Freezer was malfunctioning and making a clicking sound? He asked if it was making noise (the noise had stopped and water was leaking down 1 side). I said yes. He had not examined anything, didn't look behind or around the refrigerator and he immediately said it was a compressor. As it turned out it was the ice maker. I turned it off and solved the problem. He gave me a quote, I gave him a $500 dollar deposit and thats the last I've seen of him. Never came back, never called back. When I call no one answers and the box is full. These people are not worth 2.5 stars. They don't repair anything, they just tell you it will cost more to repair than it is worth without giving you an estimate to repair. The just want the trip charge. There repairman removed coins from our washing machine (which was working). After removing the coins, the washer would not work. He did not test it after he removed the coins before leaving. He returned to tell us that it was now a computer board problem. When I called the office, I explained the problem to the receptionist and ask for the owner to call me. I did this twice and he did not return my calls. Arthur that worked on my dryer each time also super kind and helpful. unfortunately my dryer was unable to be fixed the second time-my card was already charged for what we thought would fix it. It took 3 months to get my refund and then it was $50 short on top of, of course the service fee. I followed up w him many times. Sometimes he'd reply back and most time he would not. I called this morning to get regular service done on my GE washer/dryer. They were able to fit me in today. He showed up during the scheduled time. We had a quick chat and he was off to take a look. Manny's guys came out to the house and told me that the part would be $600 and it needed to be paid for as they ordered it. Then did not hear from them for 3 months, then spent 3 months trying to get the status of when they would come fix it. Usually they would not answer the phone. When they did the reception ladies, Carmen and Esme, would tell me that a "Tech" would call me back, but they never would. Then I asked to simply cancel the transaction. At first they said they would credit my card back, but then month after month the credit did not appear. Then I had to chase them on the refund. Eventually, they refused to refund my money and told me to take it up with my credit card company. My credit card company said that since the dispute was related to a charge older than 6 months they could not open a dispute case. The credit card company suggested that I take it up with Manny's, which clearly was not going to work. I tried several times to contact Many directly with no success. When I had him served him with court papers, I hoped we could just work out the refund. But he still would not talk to me. He also refused to appear in court. I have a summary judgement against him, but it is another hassle to try to collect it. If you have also been significantly financially wronged by Manny then you may choose to pursue legal action against him. I scheduled a 2nd appointment but the technician didn't show up and there was no communication from the company to let me know what happened. I called a third time, the technician came and said that the problem was occurring because the machine was being overloaded and he didn't fix anything. It is with hesitation that I write a less than stellar review about any business. Sadly, we had an unfortunate experience with a tech named "Joe" at Manny Appliance. (We were referred to them by staff at Spencer's in Mesa, when our dishwasher needed repair.) A tech named "Joe' arrived from Manny Appliance. We explained it was not draining properly. He grabbed the dishwasher door with both hands and yanked SO hard, it ripped the door OFF the unit! He said he needed to pull it out to look underneath. (We are not dishwasher installers, but even WE knew the appliance was bolted to the 3/4" wood base just above the dishwasher door latch and just below the countertop). Joe did not loosen that bolt before pulling the door off. This rash action rendered the unit broken beyond repair. Joe charged $175 for the service call. He said it would go towards 'parts and labor' to fix the unit. We showed Joe that the unit now had no power because the wires were torn off along with the door. It was not fixable. The unit was in worse condition than it was before he arrived. Instead of an apology, Joe said that we were not technicians so how would WE know that? (What we DO know is that we won't be having Joe do any further work here). The end result was we had to buy a new dishwasher. When we told Spencer's about this experience, an older man at the counter said that Manny Appliance had a lot of good reviews. To be fair, we have had 2 other techs from Manny Appliance in the distant past that did acceptable work on other situations, but because of the bad experience with their technician, Joe, we cannot recommend Manny Appliance. There are likely other technicians there who do good work. We are trying to put a positive spin on this. read more

We have a very bad odor in the refrigerator, which is permeating our ice cubes and all food not in sealed containers. He said he diagnosed my refrigerator and found no Freon leak, but he only pulled out the ice maker, smelled the ice and smelled inside the refrigerator. They sent a guy named Joe to my house who did nothing to actually find out what was wrong but recommended replacing the entire ice maker and valve. I agreed. Joe gave me a price of $389.71 and he told me he would order the parts and call me to schedule the installation. He promised to reduce the price by the $55 service fee he charged me to come look at the fridge. But I never heard from him again. I sent him a text in July but he did not respond at all. I finally called Joe in October. He claimed that he had texted me and called me and that it was me that never responded. I have a screen shot to prove he never responded. He claimed he had a screen shot of his texts to me and said he would send them to me to prove this was my fault but never sent it. I didn't want to argue about whose fault it was, I just needed my ice maker fixed. Joe said he would order the parts and complete the job. But I never heard back from him again. A week ago I call Joe on his cell phone. He said he was busy with a customer but would call me later that day. He did not call back. I called Joe again today, November 11, 2020, and he claimed again that he had texted me and called me (he had not). He claimed he had ordered the parts but returned them because I hadn't responded to him. He then told me he would not do business with me. He will not order the parts and complete the repair. So now 5 months have gone by with me trying to get my ice maker fixed, spending $55 for a service fee and nothing to show for it. I had a similar problem last January on a dishwasher repair for our rental house. They claimed they ordered the parts but then lost them. I guess I'm a slow learner. When I needed my oven element replaced the charge was going to be $300.00. The work consisted of removing 4 screws and disconnecting 2 electrical connections. They gave the OEM part number and I ended up purchasing from Amazon for $34.00 and installed it myself in 15 minutes. Sabino replaced a garbage disposal for us because our old one was leaking. When he was was done, he handed us two screws and said they were extras. We're not plumbers so we figured they WERE extras. Today, we had a plumber here to find out why that disposal was leaking. He looked and said the screws weren't holding the disposal in place. We had left the two screws in a baggie with the tool for unclogging. So I asked, "These screws?" It was evident, even to my un-plumber eyes that Sabino just didn't put them in - or as our new plumber said, "They never give you "extra parts" in these disposal units." I guess Covid-19 stay-at-home prompts me to write reviews lol. Facts: In 2019, I scheduled someone to inspect a refrigerator I have that was out of warranty. My refrigerator's fridge side was not cooling and icing was forming in the vent holes. The tech Charlie came in, and without any voltmeter diagnostics and so forth he said that it was a bad evaporator assembly which would cost us $636 to repair with parts. He invoiced $55 for this "service call". I was fine with that since that diagnostic would save me time in repair it in case I do it myself. The fridge was not needed immediately since I had another spare one running as well. Yes, I have two fridges. Fast forward a year later, in 2020, I decide to order the part Charlie wrote down and start fixing it since I have the time now. Based off some online instructions I removed the shelves and replaced the evaporator fan assembly. And of course, this didn't fix the issue. I figured out how to run the diagnostics on it, and figured that the old evaporator assembly was working fine. I dig deeper and learn that I can test a lot of stuff from the back panel of the fridge by testing continuity. This is what goes through my head right now. -Charlie been unresponsive on calls or texts is unprofessional; these are the type of people I hate to deal with. -The diagnostic/inspection they charge me for was crap and a waste of money. If I had him fix it, this review could've turned positive, maybe. But this is based on the diagnostic itself. A tech not doing the due diligence of inspecting what exactly what was wrong with appliance gives these zero stars. It's pretty much not doing the job. -I gave them a chance to see how well the customer service was, because I believe that's the second chance they get to make it right. Be aware, this is not an authorized LG factory repair company. They may be able to fix your LG stuff but they may also try to charge you for stuff that LG would cover under warranty or service with authorized technicians. My 3 year old LG fridge had an issue. They came out the next day to check it out and told me that it was the compressor. They acted like it would not be covered under warranty given the age of the fridge and gave me a quote for $1,258 to fix it and took a $350 deposit. I called LG because this is a lot of money. They told me that Manny Appliance Repair is not one of their factory authorized repair companies. They sent me a different tech in an LG van the next day who fixed everything for free. The tech diagnosed the compressor issue with some specialized tools (the guys at Manny's basically eyeballed it and said it was bad). I called Manny Appliance Repair the next day to tell them about my experience. The owner, Manny, called me back in 15 minutes and was polite but didn't have any great answers to my concerns. I also ended up having to dispute the $350 deposit that they took. Overall, the lesson is to call LG directly and not mess with companies claiming a connection to LG that will charge you for work that may be covered under warranty. The technician that showed up attributed our leak solely to a plumbing issue off the wall. It turns out the leak we called about was actually the hose that connects to the machine. He could have fixed it and it be covered by the $65. Im out of the $65 and I had to pay a plumber to also address something the technician could have done. This company sucks. Very dishonest. My stupid home warranty referred me to this company to fox my washer. My washer does not spin because my little brother over loaded our washer which caused it not to spin anymore. My washer is only 2 years old. So its not that old. Manny's appliance repair came to fix my washer a month ago on February 7th. He said the wire to run capacitor was loose so he supposedly fixed that. He ran the washer to see if it spins a few times and he did... I gave him the service fee already which was $45. That's with my home warranty. I already did my laundry so I used the washer 2 weeks later. Turns out the washer was not spinning again. I called Manny's and they came by to visit again. He said it was loose again so I made sure to tighten it this time. I was like okay. I wasn't charged because it was within the month they serviced it so I can't be charged. FRAUD! DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE! I needed my washer fixed, I already knew what was wrong with it but understood that I had to have a technician come out and diagnose it. He came out, agreed what was wrong with my washer, told me he would order the part, told me it should take about 10 days to receive it, this was on 12/7/2020. I haven't heard a word from them since, I have called several times, texted both the phone numbers that I have for them. I originally got a text back telling me they were still waiting on the part. Then they just stopped responding. Can't get a hold of them, like they don't exist anymore. They're getting their $60 technician fee and then completely dipping. I have reported fraud to my bank, the Better Business Bureau and also the Arizona Business Association.
