Good, fast, same-day service. Water was coming out from under our fridge. I called Appliance Repair Experts http://www.appliancerepair-experts.com at their Virginia number 703-436-2902 I called at 11 am. A technician showed up at 12:30 pm. Amazing! He is from Vision Appliance Repair (probably a subsidiary company?). Max diagnosed the problem (that is: the previous technician from a different company did not connect the water pipes tightly enough, and as a result whenever one presses the button for the water dispenser inside the fridge, water leaks from behind the fridge). He fixed it and also double checked to make sure the pipes for the new ice maker (again installed by the previous, a different company) is correctly connected. The company is up front about their cost. They have a $49 service call fee which will be applied to the total cost if repair is done. I used Manassas Appliance Repair in mid-2021 for fixing a Kenmore oven door that would not close properly. The repair guy came out and told me it was the hinges that needed to be replaced. He ordered them and returned a few weeks later and replaced them - with my help. They worked for a couple of months and then the problem recurred. I called him back in November and he said that "parts" were no longer under warranty and didn't offer suggestions on fixing the problem. He never returned, never called and I wound up replacing the oven. I would not recommend him or his business to any customer. read more

"Experts?" They keep using that word - I do not think they know what it means. ARE was contracted by Sears to repair my broken Whirlpool refrigerator. The tech just came out, spent about 30 minutes taking it out and looking around it, and then said "uhh, It's not working right. You should contact Whirlpool." And... that was it. He left. To be fair, the tech was polite and friendly. High marks for courtesy, but hardly an "expert." read more

This company is so bad that it is hard to know where ot begin to describe them. When they were supposed to come and look at the washer, they didn't show up for three different scheduled appointments. I had taken a day off from work each time they said (AGAIN) that the guy was coming. He never came. Then a week and a half later when I had just had another company look at the washer (which would not be covered under my Lowe's warranty, but I was getting desperate), this guy came to the door at 5:30 at night and said he was from ARE to look at the washer. I said you are nearly TWO WEEKS lat;e, and he ignored me and continued talking on his blue tooth/cell phone in a foreign language. The guy took the error code off the washer and said he had to order parts. He was at my house all of three minutes and was annoyed when I tried to ask any questions. I got a voice mail ten days later saying they had the partsl; it was supposed to take 5 - 7 days, but oh well. They made me wait another week for an appointment to put the parts in and fix the washer. Today I waited form 9 until 3 and called them every half hour to see where the repair guy was. They kept saying he was on his way. Finally when I called at 3PM after staying home yet another day, they said THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS! WTF?! Now remember I had already talked to them ten times today and they never said that until the end of the day when they broke the news that they weren't coming after all. I called Lowe's and they are looking into it. Here is my advice: get your washer fixed by a reliable private company and submit it to Lowe's for reimbursement. They have a regular dept and email address just for this since they have so many problems with their contracted repair people. Just ask right off the bat, and you can approach it this way. I still do not have a washer after a month and no scheduled time when it will be fixed. For the price of doing laundry, I could have paid for the repair. Maybe you will have better luck with some other company, but stay away from ARE - Appliance Repair Experts and Greater Metropolitan Appliance Repair, I had a similar run around with them. Similar situation as to the one Rockville. I called but the repair person was there the same day; however, he acted as though he didn't want to be there. I had several appliances that needed to be looked at -- freezer, dishwasher, stove and refrigerator. First, I wanted to see if the freezer could be saved before I trashed it. The repairman looked at it and said it needed a condenser. He put one in and it blew the circuit breaker. His explanation was that given that it blew, the freezer was no good because the motor had gone bad. I took that explanation -- after all, it was a real old freezer, but I wanted to try and save it because it was a good "commercial" one I had gotten with a food plan many years ago. So much for the freezer, but he said I had to pay for the blown condenser. The stove bottom drawer was leaning to one side and off track because a piece was broken. He asked if I had any crazy glue and proceeded to glue the broken piece onto the stove. Said that should hold it, but I needed a new wheel on the back of the drawer, which needed to be ordered. Well, so much for the stove, because the piece broke off again and it's back to leaning to one side. The dishwasher I was told had a bad motor which he was anxious to charge some absorbent price to fix ... mind you I've only used the dishwasher a couple dozen times since I've had it (maybe 6 years). I generally don't like using it, but on occasion I do. I told him "no" on the dishwasher. The bulb inside the refrigerator burned out and still doesn't work with a new one. The repairman said I needed a new socket as well as the piece on the side which causes the light to go on and off when the door is opened and closed. He would have to order the parts and come back to install them. He would also order the part needed for the stove as well. Wellll, it's been two and a half weeks and no new parts nor have I heard back from the repairman or ARE. I called and was told by the woman on the phone that she needed to speak with the technician and get back to me -- she never did. Well, needeless to say, it's been another two days so I called again as was told the same thing. To sum up, I called about a refrigerator, stove, freezer and dishwasher, none of which have been repaired. I forked out money for a service call and job rate and so far I have received nothing for my money -- ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. All the appliances are the same as they were before I called for this service. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!! read more

I had a very good experience with Appliance Repair Experts. My Bosch dishwasher broke, wouldn't run, and they were at my house the same day I called, within 3 hours, just as promised. The technician was an honest looking young man interested in what the problem was. He was able to diagnose the problem quickly, reset the machine, stayed long enough to be sure it was working and charged me only for the service call, which was far less expensive than a very large local company I had worked with previously.
