I came here to write a positive review about Rob Zarifi at Commonwealth Repair Services, and it shouldn't have surprised me he already was named in most of the 27 5-star reviews already! Rob repaired a heating element in our dryer a few minutes ago. He offered to come on the holiday, but we put if off until today. He stopped by this morning, and unfortunately did not have the part needed to repair the heating element, so he drove to Alexandria to get the part and then back to Leesburg. Rob took the time to show us what was wrong with the dryer, showed us where the old heating element was broken, and how it differed from the replacement part. He couldn't have been more professional and kind. We've had hit-or-miss experiences with repair companies over the year, but we'll be keeping Rob's business card close by, since he's the best we've seen! read more

Rob Zarifi at Commonwealth Repair was professional and helpful in responding to our LG washing machine issue. It produced 2 error codes (PE, LE) on late Friday afternoon, but he was available to come on Monday morning! After doing a diagnostic check, he replaced the pressure sensor (PE) which had been damaged by liquid detergent that slowly leaked from an overhead storage container. He also repaired the door lock (LE) and shared tips to keep the LG washing machine running smoothly. It was a bit expensive, but good value due to the quick response. I would definitely call Rob again! There's an initial fixed diagnostic fee ($75) and guarantee on work ($25), with the cost of labor and parts varying based on the extensiveness of the repair. read more

I was able to get an appointment for the next day, and he was able to diagnose the problem with our whirlpool refrigerator. He was honest about the repair options, as it is not a high cost unit, and gave me the option to either have it repaired, or just get ourselves a new one (on our own). I appreciated that he was not pushy, because obviously if we did not proceed with the replacement part and repair, then he would lose out of business, but he still suggested we consider that if we are able to find a new fridge for a good enough price. read more

I actually never used their service because my landlord ultimately insisted on using his home warranty people, but Commonwealth, aside from being the first to respond on Yelp, was very accommodating, flexible, and understanding with all my back and forth on scheduling. BLUF: professional, honest and knowledgeable repairs at fair price It's hard to find an appliance repair service you can trust. It's kinda like wading in with sharks hoping you get the nicest one who will only bite you a little. While it's never fund writing that check you know you will end up writing when you call a repairman, working with Rob is about as close to a pleasant experience as you will have. Rob showed up on time, and was very professional. He told me what he was going to do and why, and then as he took each step he showed me the parts he was talking about and what he was seeing. Once he made his diagnosis, he ran another test to make sure it was correct. Then he gave me some long and short term options, as well as solid advice about future appliance purchases. He is not cheap, but at least with him I feel I'm getting the professional service I'm paying for. I'd definitely use him again. read more

Great customer service! Rob will definitely be our go to repair guy after the service we received. We had him out to repair our dryer. He repaired it and explained that that should fix the issue but that occasionally another part may have to be replaced as well. The dryer worked for a day and then stopped heating. I texted Rob and mentioned this, he came the next day with the additional part and had the repair done asap. He did not charge us for the visit or the part. He was professional, easy to book, on time, honest and fairly priced. And again, the customer service was awesome. Contacted this service based on 5 Star Yelp Reviews to assess my dryer for repair. Technician contacted me and was flexible to come to my home after I got back from work to assess situation. Provided a fair and professional assessment to fix my dryer motor that had gone bad. There was no need to purchase new Washer/Dryer set. Proceeded with repairs and even helped clean out dryer debris. Coming back to add a new part to washer. Feel like I have a brand-new set. Technician worked for Sears and is a total expert at assessing issue and doing the repairs. He is also an Afghanistan War Veteran who served the US forces. Great family man too. The 5 Stars are totally warranted, and I highly recommend this service for its expertise, affordability, honesty, helpfulness, and overall professionalism.
