He is fantastic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He came to fix a problem with our washer. After that I happened to mention an issue with our stove. He took a look, went to his van, came back and fixed it on the spot. I had him look at a long standing problem with our ice maker that several appliance repair people had not been able to fix. I recently hired Nizar to repair my Samsung gas oven in my rental property. I was happy to see that he was free the very next day to check it out. He told me up front that there was an $89 service fee which would be waived if we hired him for the repair. I sent him the address and he showed up on time and quickly diagnosed the situation as a faulty igniter. He was prepared to replace it right away for just under $300. I gave him the go-ahead and he shortly had that fixed up and my oven working. My tenant was so happy (he bakes incredible sourdough) and I didn't have to get involved. Our little Amana oven stopped working though the burners on the stove still came on. Contacted Carthage and they gave us an appointment for the next day, some time between noon and 2 p.m. Shortly after noon Nizar arrived, checked out the oven and in a few minutes determined it was the igniter. The gas stove in a rental townhouse I own had serious issues and I've never had to call an appliance repair shop for a gas problem before. Carthage was the first one that answered -- others had full voice mail boxes, didn't answer, or couldn't come for ten days. Their rep was at the unit in less than an hour, did a thorough inspection, assessed what the problems were (and in one case, weren't), turned off the gas, gave me a detailed cost estimate for repair, and his professional opinion that I would be better off replacing than repairing.  When I showed him the model I proposed to buy, he recommended that I not buy that brand because while their electronic products have a great reputation, their appliances are not great.  He suggested a more reliable brand in the same price range. Then he charged me $59 for the time, labor, and expertise -- $40 less than the competition. read more

I am well pleased with the service provided by Carthage Appliance. Our oven needed repair. We have used other companies in the recent past which have only provided poor service and charge a very hefty fee. I was very hesitant to try "yet another company", so happy I found Carthage! It was a pleasure dealing with this company from the very beginning. I called at 12:45 PM, the phone call was promptly answered, thank you! I was promised a technician to arrive the same day, between 2-4 PM. At 2:15 the technician was at my door, within 5 minutes the problem was diagnosed and within 30 minutes the repair had been completed. There is service fee of $69 (at the time of this review), which is deducted from any labor/parts fees if the repair is completed that day. The fee was very, may I stress, very responsible given the average cost of repair services. I have full intentions of having them come back out to look at other appliances in the very near future. - Please call this company when seeking quick, accurate and fair priced appliance repair. read more

My dryer was not heating all of the time. I called Carthage Appliance and the technician (and owner of the business) came the same afternoon. He was great! The dryer was a little weird in that it would heat some of the time but not all of the time. He tested it until he figured out the problem, had the parts with him (coils needed to be replaced), fixed it all within about 30 minutes. I would highly recommend this repair service!! read more
