Seeing the great reviews, we decided to give RAD a shot. Based on our experience, these great reviews are totally justified. Luke at RAD communicates by text. I like this. It's simple and you have a written record to refer to. We provided our information and Luke and Tom were able to come over the next day to assess things and give us an estimate. Communication regarding arrival time was excellent. The estimate arrived early that evening. The price quoted was very reasonable. We already had replacement igniters for the burners. Luke had an igniter for the broiler in stock at his shop. Luke and Tom were back the following day, replaced all the igniters, fixed a noisy convection fan, cleaned the burners and adjusted the gas/air mixture for each one. The old beast now works like new. Couldn't be happier. These guys are really nice, they do what they say they'll do, and they know their stuff. The job just gets done. What's not to like? Sooner or later, another of our aging appliances will need attention. Our dishwasher is the most likely candidate. When that happens, we know who to turn to.

Within two years, we noticed several issues - loudness, the door not closing easily, and most troubling - a black substance dripping from the door panel. Costco called "Doctor Jay" to come out and service the door. He said the loud noise was normal, fixed the crooked door, and "took care" of the black substance (an oil), stating it wouldn't leak again. Within a week, the oil dripped on the floor again. When I called this service person back, they said there was nothing they could do about the continued leaking oil. So I called Costco again for service. When they spoke with "Doctor Jay," he said that I, the customer, told him we didn't want him to come back, which was a lie. Several weeks later, the door is slighly crooked and not closing smoothly again. Totally unimpressed.

He worked very efficiently and gave me a detailed breakdown of what parts had failed, what would be involved in replacing it, how long it would take to get the needed parts, and exactly what the cost would be. When he returned with the needed parts a few days later, I asked if he could look at some issues we had with our kitchen stove, and he very kindly went over all the burners and the oven parts with me, going into the "innards" of the oven to diagnose in detail what was going on. He clearly explained what was going on with our clogged burners, clearing them on the spot, and showing me exactly what was going on with the main oven and broiler igniters (both of which clearly needed replacement; he took photos that showed exactly what was going on inside my oven). When it became clear that the broiler igniter was backordered, he went out on E-Bay to find one that could be delivered within a week. The full repair estimate was VERY reasonable and clearly conveyed to me - and it was less than half of what another appliance repair person had told us (without supporting details) when we tried to fix our stove before.
