We called about a broken ice maker for a GE fridge. A tech came out , examined the fridge, said we needed assembly kit. Came 5 days later, replaced and said it would take 2 days for ice. We called after 2 days because nothing happened. Came 5 days later after they called GE for advice and came with a new control board but never replaced it. Did a reset with unplugging and rerunning plugs to existing board and said it should work. Waiting for reset, freezer now also stopped and we lost food. A full month, now both ice maker and freezer out and they charged us for the restock of the motherboard they didn't replace. Called another company. Cannot recommend this company. read more

I'm glad I gave Appliance Rescuers a call! The initial switch board was automated, but effective - I didn't even notice at first. I explained what I was looking for (used washing machine cleaning and door gasket replacement), and was put in touch with a great tech who saw it through to the end (thanks Juan!). He arrived when arranged, and accurately assessed what we needed (new gasket, installation, steam cleaning, and filter flush). Having never had a professional appliance repair before, I'll admit I was a little hesitant at the quote coming to more than half the replacement cost of the whole machine. But it felt well worth it: having checked the part cost (~half the total), looked over the replacement process, and considered trying to deal with the gunk myself without making a worse mess. I was happy to pay and have it all done right. He let me know the timeline, ordered the part, and came back when it arrived to do everything promised. We had Alexandre out to replace the moldy rubber gasket on our front-loading washer. He was on time and polite. He checked the model# for the replacement gasket to make sure it was the right model first and told me how long it would take him to replace the gasket. He told me how to prevent mold on the new gasket and showed photos of how he had cleaned the mold from underneath the gasket on the metal drum. They fixed one problem but created two new ones . . . We had a slow leak in our washing machine, and Appliance Rescuers diagnosed it as a faulty valve. They replaced the valve, which stopped the leak. But after that replacement, we found that the washer and dryer tripped the breaker on the outlet next to the unit, when it had worked fine for years before the repair. Their only recommended solution was replacing the outlet, and we've had to run an extension cord across the room in the meantime. Then, once we started using the dryer again, we found that when they pulled the machines out from the wall to work on them, they broke the ducting that routes air from the dryer to outside the house. Wet, linty air was blowing around the room and up into our kitchen. By the time I was able to identify the problem, contact Appliance Rescuers, and refute their suggestion that it was due to lint blocking the duct, they told me it was outside their warranty window and they would only repair the duct that they had broken for an additional new fee. read more

Appliance Rescuers to the rescue! My dryer suddenly stopped heating which, as a mom of three and mountains of laundry, classifies as an emergency. I called Appliance Rescuers and they immediately came out. Juan disassembled the dryer and determined it was something with the sensors in the machine but also identified an issue with the electrical outlet being worn out and needing replacement. My electrician fixed the outlet and Appliance Rescuers came out the next day to replace the sensors. Dryer is good as new and the laundry room is back in business. My washer started leaking water. A technician arrived and diagnosed it as a bad drum and that the parts and labor to fix are not worth fixing. When I asked for a full estimate to fix, they said they could not guarantee the work, so it's better to just replace it. I don't fault the technician, he is only doing his job a guided by the business. But, this business model of charging $75 for 10 minutes to tell me something I already know, is not helpful and goes against the point of an appliance repair company. I didn't want the washer going into the garbage, that is wasteful and not helping the environment. Our dryer stopped working, so we called this business. A technician came out and apparently fixed the issue for nearly $300. It has been 4 days, and the dryer has stopped working. We've called this business and were promised a return call by a technician and to schedule an appointment. After an hour, we called back and explained the situation to the same person and then got disconnected. We called back, started to explain the situation again, and got disconnected... Apologies, this review is for an April visit, it was stuck in my que. I share this experience as a warning to others: PROTECT YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY. My mistake was placing blind trust in positive reviews and failing to do more research on what safeguards were in place for paying customers in case the issue remained unresolved. My problem arose when my washing machine failed to drain water. For reference, I have a Samsung Wash & Dryer Frontload set. Raphael arrived, conducted some tests, and determined that the DRAIN PUMP was making an unusual noise, indicating the need for a replacement. They quoted me $698.86 for both the part and labor. A significant concern emerged when they claimed twice that their credit card reader was malfunctioning, requiring me to issue a check. They ask for a half deposit and then the other half on the day of they install the part. I now realize this tactic may prevent customers from disputing charges if the issue remains unresolved. It's SHADY and DISHONEST. Given the company's outstanding reviews, I initially had faith in their ability to accurately diagnose my washing machine. However, the problem persisted. I was then told that it was now the RUBBER ON THE FILTER that is causing the problem. So they replaced it. After replacing, the issue remained unresolved, leading me to doubt the accuracy of their diagnosis. When I voiced my concerns and suggested there might be another underlying issue, I was met with interruptions and was told my washing machine was basic and required no special testing. I thought "Great, there's nothing sophisticated and complicated about this machine so this should be straightforward!". Despite my reservations, I continued to give them the benefit of the doubt. But after replacing the rubber, it still DID NOT SOLVE the issue. Eventually, they suggested replacing the SENSOR, claiming it might not be detecting the clothes as wet. Replacing the sensor failed to solve the problem as well. They then offered a partial refund of what I paid and stated that further assistance would come at an additional cost. WHAT?! This situation seemed ludicrous; I not only lost $350 but also had to pay for the technicians' mistakes and incompetence. They justified the partial refund by mentioning the high cost of the parts they ordered. Ok- so they ordered the wrong parts and misdiagnosed, why am I to pay for this mistake? I attempted to call their main phone number to have a conversation and to work out a resolution with a Manager but was also met with resistance. It's laughable because they insisted that they helped me but I kept telling them THEY DID NOT, because my washing machine was NOT FIXED. They insisted that they spent $1500 for the parts --to me, this is an INDIRECT ADMISSION that they screwed up. Otherwise, it would not seem financially sensible to spend $1500 for a $750 bill, right? As a result, I am burdened with a $350 cost for their incompetence. Being the sole breadwinner in the family, $350 poses a significant financial strain for me. I'm interested to know what lie this business would make up as a response of this review. I read their responses on some of the negative reviews and it is obvious these people has NO ACCOUNTABILITY. I share this experience as a warning to others: protect yourself and your heard earned money. My mistake was placing blind trust in positive reviews and failing to ascertain what safeguards were in place for paying customers in case the issue remained unresolved. I rarely leave reviews for vendors, but here it goes. We have a 10 year old washer and the door cannot close well and the latch wouldn't latch on to start the washing cycle. Called Appliance Rescuers and a technician was here promptly. The first diagnose he had was - door is bad and needs to be replaced. He didn't check the latch, or anywhere else and we agreed to replace the door (manufacture original part, more expensive but I agreed to it). Paid a fee first so they can go ahead and order the part. The part was here after two days and the guy showed up to do the replacement job. Then he discovered, oh, the latch is also too old. I specifically asked him in his first visit if latch also needs to be replaced. His response was no need, it looks good (by looking). Then we waited for another one day or so for the latch part. Guy showed up promptly again, then, something about the latch is too old so he needs to order another part. We waited another two days or so for the part to arrive. When he arrived the third time to our house, while replacing the part "something is shattered when he tried to screw on the new part". This is where I don't understand what the problem really is. At this point our house is already one week without washer running, and this is the guy's third visit trying to fix my washer. Situation is becoming inconvenient. Timing is also bad I guess because it is 7/4 weekend (yes, it just happened this week). I couldn't wait for another 2 more days so I asked for a refund and am going to get a new washer instead. My lesson learned for repairing appliance is, the repairing cost + ordering parts is almost the same as buying a new washer. If the washer is really old, don't fix it, just get a new one. I wasted one week trying to fix it and ended up losing more time then getting a new one ordered and deliver to my house in a shorter time period then what I had to go thru to get my washer fixed. Still waiting on my refund and hope I will get it next week. read more

For anyone like me who always wonders what you're going to get for your money: Response time to initial contact and service scheduling were prompt. Labor cost was $290 for 32 minutes on site, and that was with some sort of mystery $35 discount. Service person simply reinstalled the spring that fell out of our 16-month-old Kitchenaid dishwasher door a few days ago, so the bill included zero new parts. Website says "diagnostic fee"--which I suppose is the service-call fee--is waived with repair, so that's also not part of the total. The labor rate factors out to $543.75 per hour. Yikes. read more
