I went with a middle quote, E-Mora Construction, and I'm so glad I did! I was anxious for the sump pump work to be completed before the rains began. Although E-Mora Construction had a full schedule, they managed to squeeze me in and completed the work ahead of schedule. The workers were great, and tidied up after work finished for the day. The sump pumps and moisture barrier were installed in two days. Ernesto Mora himself came to offer the initial quote, and returned once the work was completed for a final inspection, and to collect payment. I hired Miguel to paint a small alcove in my San Francisco apartment (about 7 x 5 ft). I had changed the color from white to a blue-green and texted him the exact flat and satin finishes. He confirmed twice that he had the correct paint, but on the day of service arrived with white instead. He then went to buy the right color, and his son and another worker did the painting. Unfortunately, the first job was poor: uneven coverage on each wall, holes and trim hooks left unpatched, light ceiling coverage, messy edges, and paint spots on the floor. They also didn't leave the paint cans behind. Miguel wasn't present, even at the end to look it all over. When I contacted him a few days later, he agreed to fix it and returned a week later with the crew. They repainted the whole alcove, and the result the second time was satisfactory. While I appreciate that he came back and corrected the work, the overall experience--miscommunication, bringing the wrong paint, poor initial workmanship, and the delay it caused--means I wouldn't hire this company again.

I reported the problem immediately and the team worked quickly to mitigate the issue by reworking the affected area under their warranty. I had to give feedback during the repairs to the team onsite that the foundation foil and protection was properly applied to the deeper level, instead of just lowering the trench on the bare concrete.

I'd had probably 10 different contractors out to look at it, and each one told me something different. Drainage Pros was the first company where I felt confident that they knew what they were doing. The price wasn't bad, either - it was about 30% cheaper than a similar quote for the same work scope. The crew, led by Javier, was incredibly professional. They had great judgement and basically never needed my input on anything. They dug a 12-foot trench, *by hand*, four stories up on the ridiculous cliff I live on. I couldn't believe it. At each stage, they went beyond what I expected. I feel like our house can handle basically any amount of rain without an issue.
