Approved Moving arrived on schedule, first thing in the morning on moving day. The owner of Approved Moving (Chuck) was one of the movers, who worked on site during the entire day of moving. Not only was he the supervisor of his quite-able crew, he worked just as hard as the rest of his team. Of note: Chuck came to my house a few days in advance to scope out the job, and examine any items that required special attention. Back to moving day... Chuck and his crew did a wonderful job packing up the large items (such as pictures, and larger/delicate decorative items), my clothes, furniture, and pre-packed boxes. Every piece of furniture was carefully disassembled (as needed) and meticulously wrapped with furniture pads and shrink wrap. Even though the move was just around the corner, everything was wrapped up as though it was being shipped around the globe. All of my clothes were packed by Chuck and his team into wardrobe boxes, of which he exercised particular care in making sure they were carefully packed and kept perfectly clean. Also worthy of mention: I have a beautiful wooden and glass china cabinet that is over a century old. Approved Moving actually fabricated a custom wooden crate to transport my china cabinet with the utmost care. Everything in my home was packed up in only a few hours (A LOT of stuff, from a 2700 square foot home), and transported to my townhouse. At my new home, the truck was quickly, but carefully unloaded. Chuck's crew was careful not to ding any walls or door frames during the move. Also, they laid out a large, carpeted pad in the doorways and through the halls, to ensure the floors were kept "scuff free", and as clean as possible with all of the in-and-out foot traffic. The moving crew took their time to make sure all the boxes and furniture were unloaded to their respective rooms, so there was no re-moving of full boxes that I had to do when it was time to unpack. Also, one of the movers took their time to reassemble all of my furniture, like the beds, gigantic wall unit, tables, etc. I also must include that all of the glass panes (like tabletops) were wrapped up in heavy blankets so there was no chance of them breaking during the move. When the move was completed, my new home looked like someone had been living their for months- or years. There wasn't much for me to do but unpack the smaller boxes with my personal effects, and handle some decorating tasks. Upon completion, but before the crew departed, Chuck made sure I was completely satisfied with the finished job, and made sure there was no furniture I needed moved around, or any other "heavy lifting" tasks. Chuck presented me with a contract to sign to agree the job was completed in accordiance with our agreement. There were no surprise charges, fees, or bills for "extra time" or "overages". I gladly affixed my signature, paid the balance (which equaled exactly what we previously agreed upon) by check, and thanked Chuck and his crew for making such a big move so pleasant. By the way, Chuck is a great guy, very kind to his customers and to his crew. And his movers were really great guys too. They seemed as though they enjoyed their work, and got along well with each other, and respected their boss Chuck. Chuck and his crew were not your typical "fly by night" movers. This is a crew whose career and passion is making people's moves as quick, pleasant, and properly-executed as possible. I would recommend Approved Moving to anyone, especially my friends and family. And, I absolutely plan on using Approved Moving when it comes time to move again. Also, for all the work he did, and having 4 movers work for me all day (about 8 hours), I think the price I paid was very fair. This was a big move, and it could not have gone any better than it did.
