Sunset Air I would avoid at all costs especially if you live on Anderson Island. I have only once…read morebefore done a negative review on any company but this time I feel compelled to do so. First of all they have to take a ferry to our island which is inconvenient for most businesses from off the island we understand that. The issue stems from their charges they use to come to the island. They charge a flat rate of $250.00 to come here for every customer they have that day they will only come over when they 2 or more appointments. The standard going rate from every other contractor is the cost of the ticket which is $33.00 or up to $75.00 per customer. We had them come and service our 5 year old mini-split it wasn't cooling back in mid September of 2025. We are snow birds and left the island the week after they were here to go to AZ for the winter. We came back on Memorial Day 2026 when about 3 weeks later we tried to use the AC but it still wasn't working. We called Sunset Air back to have fix what they hadn't fixed before. Their charge for the repair in September was $1,219.00. When we called them back they said it would be another $250.00 for the ferry ride plus a $250.00 service charge just to look at it! The repairman was average at best the 1st time he didn't even put it back together with all the screws I had to do it myself. We will be calling the Attorney General to log a complaint about their shady practices. Sadly, Bill Cunningham

I called James after 6pm and he called me right back. He agreed to come out the next morning. We found our 27 year old unit was finally done. James gave us pricing on a new unit, ordered it, and came back and installed it today. It took him a long time to install due to the old one being wedged into a tight space by the original builder but he stuck with the original quote. James was reasonably priced, responsive, punctual, professional, and very informative. I would highly recommend him!!

Although we have come to expect the service team members to be highly professional and personable, Last year's annual service tech Gabe and more recently this year's tech Christian, both exceeded our expectations. It seems so rare to find individuals who really love what they, bring gentle humor, can involve you in the process without talking over your head or down to you, and investigate further when something catches their eye, even in a 120 degree attic. It's seems like the concept of being a Craftsman... has been reduced these days to expensive custom tradesmen like wood workers, etc. But I know a business where they still exist and are available everyday... and that of course has been Capital Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electric.

Being, so close to the service call I called Capital because I felt it could be do to something tied to the service. They were able to have the same tech come in a timely manner. The AC unit had a blown 20.00 fuse. I was then charged 232.00. My concern, that as a business if you want to retain customers is that you look at the time frame and the situation. I felt taken advantage of and would not recommend Capital Heating and Cooling to anyone in the future.

I came across Fine Hvac when I was driving down Yelm Ave and saw a sign on a telephone pole. We…read morerequested an appt either a Saturday or Sunday and got a text back in reasonable time that they were able to come out on Monday as requested. Unfortunately due to circumstances, they had to come later than scheduled, but they were very communicative via text to update me on where they were. One of the owner Nate and his son Jaden showed up and spent a lot of time assessing our issue (issues with heat and wanting maintenance) and doing what they could to resolve the problem, even when it was dark and cold. They made an appt with us to come back at the end of the week in the daylight so they could assess a few more things. The second time he came with his son Jace, who works alongside his dad. They spent a lot of time with out and gave us a lot of good information to know. They were able to do what they could, but they will need to come back out in the spring to see if we have any leaks. We got our invoice fairly soon after services were completed. They charge a fee for coming out and assessing the problem as well as any services completed. For the two days they were here and the refrigerate they put into our system, our bill was $384. Great small and new business (they only opened in May 2025), but Nate has many years experience! Happy to support them and would definitely higher them again.
