Horrible service. Lousy, uncaring and unprofessional service at Sparks office. My elderly mother was left without an oxygen concentrator on a Thursday when her first company had a billing mix up with her insurance. Rather than wait to get it sorted or allow my mother to self-pay, the company went to her assisted living facility and picked up the equipment. Her doctor quickly sent a new referral to Apria. I spoke with my mother's insurance company about getting authorization completed quickly. They gave me direct contact name and phone number for Apria to call to get authorization. The girl in Apria's Sparks office could not have cared less. She was combative and rude, talking over me. She initially refused to take the information, telling me "the oxygen team that handles authorizations knows what they are doing." When she finally did allow me to give her the number, I'm sure she did not even put in my mother's file. And, apparently, the oxygen team did NOT know what they were doing. They never called the direct number. My mother's order was NOT completed. Apria left my mother without a concentrator over the weekend. As of Monday morning at 11:00, there is still not a delivery scheduled. Apria is obviously too big to care. (But I'm not. My mother is no longer an Apria customer.) read more

So the office folks were great! The overall experience with Apria I am not a fan of. It's mostly the charges I receive and trying to figure out what is what. After 8 months of having a machine I was not using and paying for, convinced me to find the local office and drop said machine. They happily received it, charged my "outstanding balance" and voila I no longer have the machine. This location had no control over my service, my charges, my challenges but they were helpful in taking something back I wasn't using. Office should have 5 stars. Their customer service can be tricky to get a hold of sometimes, but they do care about their patients and they have much better customer service than Lincare. I have never had a problem getting oxygen supplies or cannulas from them and they also have an emergency line in case your oxygen machine breaks down during off or weekend hours. If you have to choose a company, please choose Apria over Lincare! Their customer service and ability to get your supplies to you quickly vastly outstripts Lincare. I recommend Apria highly! read more

Spare yourselves, this company is waste of time and major stressor. Even on the first day I was receiving my cpap machine, they said "please sign that you are receiving what we are handing to you" and I did... turns out I was signing the payment agreement and that I was receiving not one but TWO different mask setups. They billed my insurance for two setups and when I tried to state it was fraudulent because I definitely only received one, they said "well you signed you received them". Shady as hell, they didn't take it off until I threatened to call a lawyer. Also during pickup, I was shocked when I didn't owe them anything. I said "are you sure? Can you please go double check?" The guy leaves, comes back and says "you are totally good, your insurance fully covered the supplies and machine, you won't owe us anything". That was not true at ALL. Then my insurance changed, you would've thought the world ended. I called them, notified them of the change, they didn't put it in the system, then I receive a call from billing confused, I update them a second time. Then I receive a bill and a request in the mail to return my machine because I have no insurance (I definitely had insurance so I call and updated it TWO more times). Regarding resupply, that was just ridiculous. Once they did get it under the right insurance which took many calls. They sent me the WRONG mask, because they had me under an incorrect one in their system (that's what happens when you shadily bill for two, all of a sudden you don't know which one I actually have) so I had to return it all. I went months without proper sleep care or replacements, every step along the way required calls to customer service or billing which took hours from my life to no prevail. I returned my machine two days ago and the woman was short with me, couldn't care less, then presented me with a bill for 200 dollars for the supplies I already returned. I have just started my journey into being diagnosed with sleep apnea. With the all the questions and concerns that have come up Apria has been there for me since day 1. They continue to help with all the questions and concerns I have with my face mask and the equipment and how to use it and make sure is the right fit. They made sure that everytime I left I was confident and happy. Apria has made the transition comfortable and easy with being a phone call or an appointment away. I have had to be on oxygen since I got Covid. I have had two companies since then. This company is vastly different than the other one. For a matter of fact, when you call you get a real person to talk to. How awesome is that? Not to mention, they were able to get me a more portable machine. I now have one that fits in my backpack. Originally I had a machine that would stop every now and then. I informed them of this issue. My husband brought it in and they gave him a new one. Awesome Customer service. I will say that insurance only pays for a battery that lasts only 2 hours. I had to purchase another battery and charger that lasted six hours. But, leave it to insurance to do it on the cheap. I have been attempting to order supplies for months. My primary doctor has faxed over to the Sparks Office "missing documentation" 4 times. I have spent hours talking to various departments within Apria Customer Service/BillingOrder supplies each time, I am assured the order is complete. Within days, I received a VM saying, "Don't call us," but we cannot complete your order due to missing documentation. Your primary doctor will be notified. This cycle has gone on for four months. I have been waiting for new supplies since February. I am still in the same routine. I call, I order, I get confirmation. Then let the VM - unable to complete the order. Horrible customer service. Just like the other reviews stated... you cannot reach anyone in the local office by phone. You are on hold for hours on end, no exaggeration. Then if you leave a message you never get a call back. I have also opted to "hold my place in line" and never received a call back. Also held my place in line to get a call back and sent through the options to reach the local office and when you choose that option it says it's not valid. If you want to speak to someone in the local office you have to make the drive over there. When you get there, they have no patients and nobody is on the phone. So I'm trying to figure out what their problem is. They must turn the ringers off. They don't seem to take the health of their patients seriously. Also, they bill you and never send an itemized bill. I'm not sure how this place is still open after years of bad reviews. Bad customer service, quality of care is nonexistent. Looking to switch companies. read more

The staff who work in the Reno office are excellent, but there's zero customer service available from the main office number - you'll be put on hold for over 15 minutes, and then cut off. If you need anything from Apria, even an answer to a simple question, you're required to drive to their office, and ask it in person. read more

My husband's physician prescribed a CPAP and sent the prescription to the Apria in Sparks, NV. After not hearing from Apria for over two months I called them and they said the CPAP was delayed in transit. However, they still billed mey husband I continued to call for months, but with no avail - and the same story. Finally, last month Apria sent my husband CPAP supplies for the CPAP that they never supplied. I called them and they did nothing. I then wrote to them that I would file a complaint if they did not resolve the issue. They did nothing. My husband has filed a complaint with the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy, which governs durable medical equipment providers. My husband is planning on suing them. read more

Regarding sister Sheila Wheeler I brought my sister out here in Sparks Nv for a better life she had tracheostomy and uses a compressor mist to keep it from dying out.. her compressor stopped working a day after she arrived..she has an account with Apria .. once we found out that a drs order from NV was needed to replace it we found a dr to submit an order. She has tried without success several times to contact Apria in Sparks. She contacted Steve with Apria in San Francisco who emailed Sparks.. THEN they called me. I did a sleep study in order to get a cpap machine. I used another company and it was really challenging. I ended up having to return the machine. When My insurance authorized a new machine i requested a different company for my machine. Apria was the next company. They went above and beyond to try and help me get set up. The people in the Sparks office where extraordinary. My mother-in-law was visiting her sister in another state and her oxygen machine broke down. Even though she has Kaiser CA, the office in Nevada was very helpful in replacing/ billing the item. They don't care and still want to charge me for it My insurance has asked for the prescription so they can pay their portion but they don't send it out them they don't care they just want to charge. Out and out lying does not help. Hey! Corporates Social Media -get your gd facts straight. Monday morning update. No delivery. No cpap unit and now no schedule as to when it's coming. What a clown show. Monday afternoon update. Called and spoke to Mike, who was absolutely NO HELP. NONE. I told him more about FedEx than he knew. Now "scheduled" for Tuesday delivery. I will believe it when I see it. Update - Tuesday June 7th. Unit arrives with wrong mask, after I called twice to confirm the order. To Apria's credit, they put the correct mask in a truck and drove it over. Finally real service. Note to Rickl F: I tried to talk to you Tuesday, you were "in a meeting". Apria provided a CPAP machine per my doctor. I have not heard from them for supplies, support, or anything. I have however heard from their billing department saying I am overdue about 20 times. I have not received a single statement, breakdown of costs, etc. I have requested the above all 20 times. At this point I have paid near what a CPAP machine would cost out of pocket. I do not have a single statement or breakdown of my cost. I have not ordered a single thing from them aside from my physicians original order of my CPAP machine. I have been purchasing all of my supplies online outside of my insurance company. This company is a nightmare and I will be cutting them completely out of my treatment as soon as my machine is completely paid for. read more

On 8/4, they finally initiated refund, 2 days later a supervisor called verifying credit card; 8/13, still no refund. A billion dollar co. and they are holding onto to $38. WTF! Called VP Nikki Denney, no call back, REALLY! Worst company I've ever dealt with. I made a clear note that my tubing BROKE, so I had no access to my CPAP machine. They said 7-10 business days. Bad weather, so they returned my products WITHOUT telling me. When I called, they said it would be another 7-10 business days. Sleep apnea is a dangerous medical condition. It damages heart, brain, and all forms of health. I previously left a review and would like to update based on Apria's most recent Shenanigans. Although Apria says it won't sell me the machine without a letter from my former insurer my former insurer informs me the do not write such letters. I think I previously wrote that on March 8 Apria said they were picking up the CPAP that day. They did not pick it up. I received a recorded message Thursday March 14 saying that it would be pickled up Friday. It was not. On Sunday (DURING CHURCH) I received another recorded message that it would be picked up today (March 18, 2024). This morning I received a call from someone at Apria who expressed concern that it would be five months before I would be seen by my new pulmonologist and that this was a long time to be without a CPAP. He said he would look into "alternatives" and call me back. Wow. it appeared someone at Apria actually cared whether I die in my sleep. An hour later I received a call from a man demanding to know how I intended to pay Apria what I owe. I said I do not intend to pay for anything after January 30 when I first notified Apria of my insurance change. He then proceeded to berate me and accuse me of "wrongfully holding on to the equipment". It fried to tell him that three pickups had been scheduled including for today but he raised his voice and talked over me loudly accusing me to stealing the CPAP. I hung up. I called Apria and was told today's pickup had been cancelled but they would pick it up tomorrow. These on the very same day Apria cancelled the pick up Abe's accused me of thievery of the machine. I have filed a complaint with Nevada's Board of Pharmacy which oversees durable medical equipment providers. I do not think Apria should be allowed to continue doing business in Nevada. read more

However because the company I work for changed insurance companies, you are trying to make me start a brand new rental contract and pay all over again for another year! As usual, Apria is not reliable! My husband needs oxygen constantly, but this morning his concentrator stopped working. He has about 2 hours worth of oxygen left in his tank, then I will have to take him to the ER. Why don't these people have an emergency line? We have had nothing but problems with these people. They don't do a damned thing until I post a review. I am not taking this one back. My husband has stage 3b lung cancer and now has pneumonia on top of it! Apria's billing department appears untrained when it comes to working with insurance companies. WageWorks which I hate especially, DEMANDS an itemized receipt listing each item. OK but Apria only provides credit card receipts, each time (3) we receive in the mail an incorrect statement, not a receipt. A 200.00 charge returns a 1,200.00 statement. Who are these guys? They make it impossible to utilize your companies insurance. I must find another outlet for supplies if I want my spending account card. read more

Like all the other complaints about Apria, nothing has changed and nothing is done when it comes to being responsive to orders. Lot's of "I'll take care of it" and NO FOLLOW THROUGH. I'll be sure to write to the company CEO as I took names and make sure they hear of the lack of service and failures to complete orders. I am a Licensed Social Worker and working with o2 and Durable Medical Equipment providers can be difficult. However Shana and manager at Apria helped to provide o2 and a wc for a resident to go home with daughter on hospice, they did this fast and made the process easy and helped the family. I have been a client of Apria for many years. Now they have threatened to sue me for a c-pap machine. They said I received it Feb. of 2019. This is not possible as I carried this machine on a plane trip in July of 2017. I think they are having bookkeeping problems. I cannot find the papers that came with said machine so I do not know how to prove my ownership. I will definitely be changing companies. Also, I am 82 years old and have a very hard time understanding the foreign language speaking people they hire. Anyone got any ideas on how to handle this? read more

The local people are nice but won't solve your problem. I have no idea how this company stays in business. I have been trying to get a new CPAP machine from them for over a month and it is still not going to be here for weeks if it ever shows up. They do not listen to you, they ship the wrong stuff, use the wrong doctor and have a call center where nobody speaks recognizable English. They will charge your card as fast as they can but provide zero customer service. They do not have customer service to teach you how to use the device and check the mask fit, they just (hopefully) send it to you. Avoid Apria at all costs. I had an emergency need for a new battery for my portable oxygen unit and called Apria Health yesterday and again on Tuesday, September 9 and once again explained my urgent situation.
