The first thing that you notice was the lovely smell. But when I saw all the different honey from around the world I want to taste them all. Turns out, they have a cute love seat at the counter and you can taste the honey. I think the owner waited on me and she offered samples of the lotion, oil & lip balm. I bought the dry oil, I never heard of such a thing. This oil made with honey extract was soothing and did absorb into my skin and wasn't sticky leaving a nice scent. I bought it. I use it after every bath and it feels like I have a spa in my bathroom. I purchased their Crème Legere the light face cream. I am so pleased with the way it works, I stopped using my other face cream. The final purchase was the lip balm. It's made with honey extract and works better than any chap stick or lip gloss I've used. The gloss has a slight glimmer to it and looks good as the final touch to my lipstick. There was a QR code on the balm so I looked it up on an app I have that lets you know, if there are toxic or cancer causing ingredients. So far I have never seen a product that had 0 toxic ingredients. Now I'm on a search for a lipstick with that excellent rating. I've not found one yet. Having something on my lips that is natural and could be edible is what all lip product should be. Looks like I'll be using this perfect lip balm from now on. I use it every day. There isn't one thing in the entire store that I wouldn't buy. Everyone should go to this crème of the crop store!

I got to taste a couple of really interesting meads that were made locally, and got to hear a bit about the history of the person who made them. I got a bottle of the one that is full of winter spice flavors, which will be good for Thanksgiving. A friend with me who wanted some honey tried a few until she found the one she wanted. If you are a fan of honey or mead, this is a great place to check out.

This is the kind of place with soul where you can relax in the shaded or sunny courtyard outside with a glass of wine or bubbles if you decide not to do a tasting. They were originally making olive oil and still do but eventually became a vineyard. There is a peaceful little garden outside and there are even pigs to say hello to. There were a lot of little table outside that could probably be reserved for dinners. At least thats how i imagine it but its worth asking. It steps from town.

We were given a sampling of three different wines to try, and ultimately decided on the sparkling for a glass as we walked the gardens. There was hardly anyone else there as it was late in the day, but it felt peaceful as we strolled and as if we had the whole place to ourselves. While the wine was quite good, what really makes this place stand out is their olive oil, the pollinator garden, and of course - Petunia the pig. As animal people, we gravitated to her and felt it was hard to pull away from her adorable grunts as we scratched her to sleep. Thankful for the downtime experience and excited to try the olive oil we purchased now that we're home!

SCW and I stopped into Big John's market after it was recommended from a wine tasting experience…read more The store itself is larger than it looks like from the outside. When you get inside you'll see the varieties of cheeses available which is extensive. A little further in they have a decent sized salad bar with fresh looking veggies and a few prepared salads. There is also a warm items bar in that area. The deli is large and gets quite busy during lunch time. They have a few curated sandwiches on the overhead board or you can make your own. Take a number first if they are busy and order when called. They are pretty quick as our sandwiches were ready in about 5 minutes. I had a giorgi park (vegetarian) sandwich which came as a panini with great flavors and fresh ingredients. SCW had the veggie sandwich which was also really tasty. They have a burrito and pizza line as well. I got a vegetarian super burrito bowl which you can customize. Similar process as chipotle style. Everything looked fresh vibrant. The wine selection is varied and has some appealing options. The middle portion of the store is similarly set up like most grocery stores, cans, waters, cleaning products etc. The produce section is nice with good variety as well. You can find tofu and fake meats near the produce section. The store is clean and well lit. They have tables outside if you choose to eat there. The employees are very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend giving Big John's Market a try.

If you are looking for the absolute best in Sonoma County for high-end foodstuffs, look no further…read more Big John's Market is essentially a pilgrimage site for anyone who takes their pantry seriously. The store is beautifully laid out and curated with an eye for quality that puts most 'gourmet' chains to shame. The produce is consistently stunning, and the local wine selection perfectly reflects the best of our backyard (Dry Creek, Alexander Valley, and beyond). The standouts: * The Deli/Prepared Goods: This is the heart of the operation. The sandwiches are legendary, the pizza is artisanal-grade, and the prepared salads are actually fresh and inventive--not just an afterthought. * The Cheese Section: Simply sublime. It is clear whoever curates this section has a deep passion for local creameries and international classics alike. * The Experience: Despite the high-end inventory, the staff is incredibly friendly and grounded. Plus, in a town like Healdsburg, having a lot with decent parking is a massive luxury that makes the trip even easier. Whether you're stocking up for a dinner party or just grabbing the best lunch in town, this place is the gold standard.
