We came to Apista for the first time today. The reviews looked solid and their website is clean. We arrived and placed our order of 2 carnitas tacos, 2 asada tacos, asada burrito and a side of rice and beans. The gentleman who took our order was very friendly and asked many questions to make sure the order was customized to our liking. There's an outside eating area with 5 or 6 picnic tables. Some of the tables were a little broken but still usable. We waited about 25 minutes for our food, seemed a little long but there were others there before us and you could see everyone was working. They let me know that my food was ready. I had to remind them that I ordered rice and beans, no big deal. We sat in the outdoor area and dug in. The carnitas tacos were ok, under seasoned for my taste and had no crispness to it. The asada tacos were also only ok. The meat was tender but, again, under seasoned. The asada burrito was good sized. The rice in the burrito was crunchy, under seasoned meat and really good guacamole. The side of rice and black beans was ok, nothing special. Obviously this establishment has a following as we saw many people coming and going while we were here. This is not the Mexican food I seek out or would come back to.

We had a small picnic at Laurelhurst Park and Aprisa delivered!

Great place for a single meal and for catering. Super nice staff, very helpful, great food and fair prices. Everything tastes fresh. The Burrito Bar is the way to go when you want to feed a group of people ($13.50 per person). Super reasonably priced, comes with everything you need to please the pickiest eaters. (You can get breakfast catered for the same price, but I haven't tried that yet.) It includes: Zesty Garlic Lime Rice Black Beans Pinto Beans Grilled Chicken Grilled Veggies Grilled Steak Hot, Medium & Mild Salsa Cheddar/Jack Cheese Romaine Lettuce Green Chili Baja Sour Cream Tortillas Plates Utensils & Napkins Serving Spoons & Tongs Stands, Chafing Dishes & Fuel And did I mention, they deliver!

Delicious food. Had the chicken burrito & steak bowl. I liked how they grilled their meat for added flavor. Everything was fresh and their tomatillo was really good.

I love this place so much! It's been 10 years since I've been back and they are here and just as tasty! Authentic Mexican food. They make their sour cream and carnitas asada!

Mexican food housed in a former ocean container at an out-of-the way intersection is an invitation to try. The taste and feel is "authentic": not-mainstream like Chipotle, not a #2 taco platter with amigo chips like something you'd find in Beaverton, and not up and coming chef, bus your own dishes Portland fusion. The torta bread comes from Woodburn, an area known for incredible Mexican food. Maybe from a Mexican bakery, the taste is difficult to replicate. An excellent sandwich, but somewhat difficult to eat clean. I opted for the veggie, I'm sure one of the meats provides even more flavor. The breakfast taco for $2.95 is ample and delicious. A SUGGESTION for the owner: the nice lady asked us about six questions when we ordered the taco: pinto or refried beans, mild, medium, or hot sauce, do you want lettuce, etc. Just sell it in the way you think it tastes best and the customer can opt out of certain ingredients. When she was about to go through the list of questions again for the torta I just said "the same as the taco." Fewer questions will reduce the wait time in line. I consider this place a little gem with decent parking and good outside (but no inside) seating.

This is my second visit in about three weeks, and while this place has fantastic food, the customer service on both trips has left something to be desired. My previous visit I ordered a quesadilla, and after waiting 20 minutes during which people that had ordered after me were getting their orders, I went up to the window to find out what was going on. It turned out their printer broke, so my ticket didn't get printed to be made up. They were good enough to give me a filled-up punchcard (12 visits and your 13th visit is free, so it had 12 punches in it; keep this in mind), but it messed me up on being able to eat lunch between errands and appointments. Just this weekend I was in the area and figured it'd be a good use of that punchcard, so I went through the drive-thru, where I was told (via the speaker) to come to the window to place my order. There's no menu at the window, so luckily since it was just me I only had the one thing to remember and thankfully the guy taking my order walked through all the other options. When I went to pay, I handed him the punchcard, he punched a 13th hole in it (which was to indicate that it was my 13th visit and therefore my meal should be free), handed it back to me and told me my total was $8.something. I said this should be free because the punchcard was full, and he told me I could use it next time. I was pissed and should have driven off, but handed him my credit card anyway and figured I'd just give the punchcard to somebody else that needed it more than I did. My order was readied quickly but was handed to me by someone else, and when he said, "oh yeah you wanted a water right?" I went ahead and asked him about the punchcard again and explained why I had it and that it was the only reason I'd come in. He asked if I'd paid on a card and had the transaction completely voided. Bottom line here is that the food really is great, high quality and the portion sizes are quite generous, but I had two poor service experiences in a row. :-/

I really like this place made out of a steel shipping container. This ain't no Taco Bell. Fresh ingredients and made to order. There is I walk up window, a drive-through and two areas with picnic tables, one is covered. Street parking for the most part but the area is not that busy so that shouldn't be a problem. Since everything is made to order it may take a little longer but it's worth it. It's perfect for those mornings when you're heading out of town to go do something for a quick breakfast on the go. They make their own taco shells, salsas and sauces. Their prices are reasonable too. Wonderful customer service and everyone here is always happy. They even have music in the drive-through! I highly recommend! 2015-69

I drove past this place heading towards Voodoo Donuts and I was so intrigued by the paintings outside that I just knew I had to come back. I drove 30 minutes retracing my steps just to find it and I wish I would've just kept driving. First let me say that their ingredients are SUPER fresh and their meat is juicy and flavorful. But, unfortunately I have to judge it overall. I'm a huge fan of chips and salsa, so I was really looking for that authentic taste that Mexican restaurants use to reel you in with these two items in particular. I didn't get that, in fact what I got was something like fried pita chips and puréed overly spicy "salsa" if that's what they're calling it. That was definitely a let down! My boyfriends steak quesadilla was good though, I mean he only got cheese and meat but like I said earlier their meat is juicy and flavorful. My burrito would've been good if I hadn't of ordered that awful spicy "salsa" on it! If I wanted a quesadilla ((which I never do) then I might come back. But, as of now it's a no. Happy Yelping...

Ooooh so good. Soft tacos that would feed a family of four!

I work in the area and have driven past this location countless times but I thought it was a coffee shack drive thru. Today I decided to give it a whirl and look it's Mexican grub. I ordered the soft tacos with pork that's a bit under seasoned, lettuce, pinto beans and guacamole. No cheese or salsa because of my dietary restrictions. Sublime. I love it. Super tasty, a ton of food for the price and really quick. Mi madre es espanol so I know authentic when I taste it. I'll definitely be back for more!

It's a cool idea behind this place - either walk-up or drive thru. No spots to dine inside here, but it works really well. We got 3 steak tacos with everything on them, and a chicken burrito. Both were hearty and very filling and the whole meal was priced well. Solid quick spot for Mexican food if you're in SE.

The guests LOVED the food. Especially the marinated chicken thighs and the potato salad. I even received comments from guests the veggie tray was one of the most beautiful they had ever seen. All the other dishes were delicious as well and there was more than enough to send leftovers home with everyone who wanted some. Busy Bee elevated my event into something even more special by providing such amazing food. I never worried once about any part of catering, as they were the easiest to work with all around. I discovered it when I saw an influencer in Portland gushing about their brunch. Although my schedule didn't allow me to partake in the limited hours brunch, I still wanted to go try it. The decor was nice and gave the whole space a cozy and intimate feeling. My best friend and I shared a couple dishes which I can't fully recall but I know we had lamb and I believe a mezza type platter. Of all the places we ate out at during this trip, this was our favorite. The owner's son was our server and he was really friendly and we talked about how we wished they'd open a branch in Seattle! Still hoping! :p Finally, we got a biscoff cheesecake and I make a very good biscoff cheesecake myself, but my bestie said theirs was better. I will neither agree or disagree with said statement. Anyway, looking forward to the day I get to return for more delicious food!

However, they tried to accommodate us so much. However, the night was in our favor. As we started to order take out, a lady was kind enough to give up her table since she was eating alone. It was a small table for 3 people but the staff was sooo accommodating i have no words. They even gave free dessert to the lady who was kind. Then luck would have it, the table next to us never showed up for their reservation so they gave us that table. Finally, we ordered. Turned out, i also got the last shawarma too. Everything happens for a reason! We also got the Saudi chicken kabsa and cheesecakes. The biggest compliment i can give is when the food came, none of us talked for a good 5-7 mins and just sat there in heaven eating. The flavors were soo unique but yet so familiar. If this is Saudi food, i have been missing out. I need to explore more sub categories of middle eastern cuisine. Best bites in Portland for us and that's all i have to describe our experience. Finally, got the Nutella cheesecake and almond caramel cheesecake. I have to say, Nutella was good but easily a skip compared to almond and caramel. Just get 2 of those and you'll be happy. The cakes itself are light and not heavy. They were great end to a great meal. This is a family owned but family loved business. You can see the love as they serve their guests but you can taste the love too. The people are soo sweet and kind and just want to serve you. By 3:20, no one had arrived and I still hadn't heard anything. Around 3:25, I began trying to contact someone. After finally reaching someone after 3:30, I was told the kitchen had been extremely busy that day. At that point, I began to suspect the food might not be coming. At 3:49 PM -- just minutes before guests were arriving for a two-hour event -- I received a call letting me know the food had not even been made yet. I was told it might be ready "in a couple hours," and they suggested I order food elsewhere instead. We were left scrambling at the absolute last minute. We ended up ordering pizzas and salad from a local restaurant while family members rushed to the grocery store to put together charcuterie boards in the kitchen as guests arrived. It was stressful, embarrassing, and honestly hard to believe. I have worked in hospitality, events, fundraising, and vendor management since 2008 -- from hotels to nonprofit development work -- and I regularly hire caterers, bartenders, and vendors for professional events. In all those years, I have never experienced a caterer simply not show up and fail to communicate beforehand that they would not be delivering. To their credit, the contact person did apologize afterward and explained they were understaffed and going through staffing challenges. She also stated they would refund the order and help reimburse the replacement food costs. However, nearly a week later, I still have not received the full refund or reimbursement. I understand that difficult days happen in the service industry. What was most disappointing here was the complete lack of communication before the event and the position it put us in as hosts. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not feel comfortable relying on this company again for an event.

Every single item they made was seriously delicious, not just 'good' - NW salmon cakes, goat cheese tartlets, teriyaki meatballs for passed apps, and the charcuterie presentation was beautiful. Sweet chili shrimp skewers, thai peanut chicken, asparagus risotto, arugula salad, plus two custom items we asked for: pork belly bao buns and fried chicken sliders. Everything was out of this world. When we asked to do pork belly bao buns, they didn't bat an eye or even ask any questions - and then absolutely nailed it. The amount of food was perfect. They also tended bar for us with 2 signatures and a full bar and everyone was happy and drunk the whole evening :) The team was super friendly and professional, and Jessica's responsiveness was lightning fast. We would work with them all over again and highly recommend to anyone.

Reedville catered our wedding of 75 people on 7/27/19. We were so happy with everything, start to…read morefinish. We worked with Cam and she was fantastic! We weren't sure if we wanted to provide our own alcohol, or have Reedville do it, and Cam was so flexible with us the whole time. She was constantly tweaking little things in their proposal and always promptly answered any questions I had. The food is so good! I had multiple guest come up to me during the wedding and tell me, unsolicited, how good the food was. It was above and beyond many of our guests expectations of what kind of food they would be served at a wedding. My now husband wanted to order excess food on purpose just so he'd have more leftovers, I cannot emphasize how yummy everything was! The day of staff of servers and bartenders were all fantastic as well. While taking pictures during our cocktail hour and away from our guests, all of the servers made sure to bring us the hors d'oeuvres and cocktail each which was super appreciated! Overall I cannot recommend Reedville enough, they were fantastic!
