I have a friend that is a Solar Rep and he set a very polite appointment with a gentleman to just simply "Compare Rates" and when he got to the house, the gentleman that had been very interested and enthusiastic the day before, was sarcastic and rude with my friend and stated very sharply that their neighbor works for aps and that the people knocking on doors are scam artists and that there's no such thing as Net Billing/Net Metering(my friend was so disappointed that he felt compelled to PROVE to me that APS DOES IN FACT PARTICIPATE in the Net Metering Program PROOF EVIDENT BY A DOCUMENT THAT APS REQUIRES THE NEW SOLAR SYSTEM OWNERS TO SIGN BEFORE THEY(APS) WILL ALLOW THEM TO DO SO .. and because I know my friend to be an honest to goodness gentleman, he had no choice other than to believe that the APS employee neighbor was either FED FALSE information by their employer, OR, she flat out LIED and bashed an entire industry that is saving homeowners hundreds of thousands of dollars all over this nation .. my friend told me that there will be MORE SOLAR PANELS INSTALLED IN 2024 than ALL THE SOLAR PANELS INSTALLED IN THE LAST 10 YEARS .. COMBINED .. Yeah .. LMAO .. must be a scam .. if we believe the APS employee, then we have to assume that millions of Americans that "went Green" are STUPID and BLIND .. by way of comparison, my buddy helped a family just 2 doors down from the rude man and his APS employee neighbor, and he helped those homeowners lower their electricity bill by almost 40% AND APS has to pay them back every January for all the extra power their system makes .. and they have No Lien on their house, No Financial Liability, Everything is Covered .. Guaranteed, Insured, Warranteed, Monitored and Maintenance is ALL PAID FOR within the contract .. AND to top it all off, if my friend's customer decides to buy the system, it will add $35,000.00 value to their home and they get a 30% Tax Credit .. the end game? This company is a scam, first off surcharges for electricity through them are about 4x higher than any I have come across throughout the country. Now that's just half the BS they do to you. I signed up for automatic bill pay and sure enough charged 12 days AFTER I paid my last bill which was BEFORE it's due date. So now I have 2 large bill payments in a 12 day period well before the 2nd due date. Total rip off, reported to my bank. read more

I spoke to a very nasty woman who was rude and argumentative with me, I asked to speak to a supervisor and she would not put me through. I tried to call the corporate office but all you get is a recording. This is the worst utility company, there rates are so high and there customer service is a joke. My power was shut off, I paid the bill! They told me that it would be turned back on in a couple of hours, but because I have solar they neglected to inform me that they need to issue a service ticket to have someone come out and turn it back on! I found this out after 4 hours of no service, then charge 137 dollars to turn it back on! If you have solar, beware, make sure they issue a service ticket, or you'll go hours without electricity! Our electricity has probably gone out 8 times this year, it goes out ALL the time. And of course nothing is ever done about it. This week it went out at 6:30pm, which was very inconvenient of course, right before my 2 little ones went to bed. After holding 45 min aps said it wld go back on at 11pm, so do we sweat it out or pay for a hotel at our own expense? We decided to wait, come 12:30 am no power, 2 am rolls around so it's now been 8 hours with no power so I call again, the lady tells me it will go back on the following day at 7:30 PM, yes that right 24 hours, no sweat off their back, it's not them and their kids. So in middle of talking to the lady guess what?? My power comes back on, after I was just told it wld be another 24 hours and I was getting ready to pack my babies up to a hotel. And this is the second time the same thing has happened except for last time I had woke them up, packed and their things and was pulling out of the neighborhood when I noticed it started lighting up again. Had to change my service to a new house. Waited 1 hour 9 minutes for someone to help me on the phone. The person who finally helped me was phenomenal. She got the service turned on at my new home, arranged to have the service turned off at my present home, and all in all made it a very pleasant experience after the long wait. She gets the 5 stars. Two brown outs, lasting hours, in one week June 2016 for those living near El Mirage and Bell Road. Yes, this is the poor area of Surprise proper consisting of the Lodge at Sun Ridge and retirement trailer parks. Over the past week we have been without power during evening meals (Record breaking heat too) -so what you have to throw dinner away a few times a week- APS is not going to compensate you and you will be told by the workers to, "SHUT UP" according to neighbor, if you ask how long it will be. This has got to be a joke. I've been very careful on what stays on in the house. I run led lights around the house, unplug anything on the outlets that are not in use, turn off ceiling fans in unoccupied rooms. I've payed very close attention to what gets plugged in to the walls around the house. I do all of this,plus... and I still see a bill over $250. How??? APS has been doing a horrible job by not only increasing their rates and charges but they also lack helping customers. Horrible customer service! They shut off my power when it was 110 outside forcing my fiancé to call into work to go down there and have them fix the problem. Their response was " It was a computer glitch sorry for turning off your power." Then they said they would credit us the $27 to reconnect. No shit? Considering it shouldn't have never been shut off in the first place. I asked if they could do anything more based on the missed day of work and complete inconvenience and they said they were prepared to offer anything more. A total joke for customer service. I would give the 0 stars right now. I am on permanent disability and very minimal income. With my thermostat set to 82 degrees at all times, I have over a $700 bill! They disconnected my service and we are in an excessive heat warning. I called them bc 2 of my children have respiratory issues and require nebulizer treatments. Monique at extension 179450 stated that bc I was disconnected yesterday and the heat warning came today, they won't turn it back on until I can pay it when my disability comes in at the end of the month. Yesterday a team marched along my property line followed by a crane on a cattrack. When I walked out to inquire, I was ignored until I asked "what's going on?". "A new transformer". OK. And then the power went off. Not for long, mind you, but never the less it was turned off. My complaint and the neighbors is, could not someone have knocked on our door to inform us? What would have happened if someone involved in the outage was medically dependent? Could not the team have cleaned up after the job? Left behind was a padlock which was a potential weapon had the mowers picked it up, the 2 1/2" bolt (another weapon)and washer, the zip ties, the grass bunch which was dug up and simply tossed aside and left, the dirt,bricks and rock at the base that had been disrupted and left a mess.
