The crew was to start at 8:00 a.m. There were late getting to our house on the morning the project started, my husband had to call them about 8:20 to find out where they were at. They said they were on their way and had to make a stop. In the meantime, my husband had to go to work. Scott and his associate arrived about an hour late, and then became irritated because we hadn't purchased all the supplies they needed. We had no contract and they never outlined what they supplied nor what we were to supply. I then told them that my husband would come home from work within the hour and we could delineate what we needed to buy, agree on a contract, etc. We had the tile, grout, wall board, etc. At first, the contractor agreed to wait until my husband could get home and would start hanging up the wall board in the meantime. Then about 30 minutes later, Scott told me he was going to shut the water off so he could remove the shower faucet. I told him he needed to wait until my husband got home, which would be very soon. I didn't want to allow the contractor to touch our plumbing until my husband had reviewed the project with them. The contractor then became very impatient and upset with me, telling me that he didn't have time to wait another 20 minutes for my husband to get home. His time was much more valuable. I then pointed out that if he hadn't been late in the first place, we wouldn't have to wait for my husband to get back here to talk with you. Scott then became very verbally aggressive, which escalated into a full-blow argument between us. It ended with Scott telling me, "No women tells me what to do". Needless to say, I asked the contractors to leave our house immediately. Then Scott demanded $300 for his time and waited out on the lawn for my husband to arrive. My husband showed up within a few minutes of our argument, and Scott told my husband that he doesn't appreciate "a woman" telling him what to do. Needless to say, we found another contractor to complete our project.

I did a huge amount of homework and had 3 different and well recommended flooring companies come out to assess the situation and give me their quotes. All 3 were knowledgable and could have done a solid job on this work, but Ted stood out among them as particularly capable and experienced (not just an age thing, but the way he talked about the work). Of the 3 companies who came, 1 of them didn't even mention leveling or prep work, 1 of them mentioned it but said he didn't know what the house would need, and only Ted was specific about it off the bat and pointed to one area that he could eyeball as needing additional prep. I could barely see what he was talking about when I looked closely but it was just obvious to him. He was also the only one who thought to talk to me in advance about different options for where the floors and baseboards meet. I'm not sure what the other companies would have done or were assuming, but Ted took ample time to talk through running the floor directly to the baseboards versus using stained quarter round, and mentioned that if the thickness changes and the baseboards have to move lower, painting will be required to touch up above them. Ultimately Ted's vision for the project spanned end-to-end and I felt very comfortable that he was telling me everything I needed to know. Ted also made the process very easy for me. No black box of "let me take this back to my office and send you an estimate a week later." Ted knows his stuff and was able to calculate the cost for me before he even left, though he did send me a formal quote after. In fact, he sent me 3 formal quotes, since I decided to explore porcelain tile, LVP, and engineered wood to see how all 3 prices compared across all 3 companies I spoke with. In the end, all the prices were pretty close to each other. I get the sense that none of the good flooring companies around here are pretty much in line with their rates and how they charge (that is, around the same material/labor costs and trying to make a little profit without being greedy). So of course I went with Ted given how well our conversation and follow-up calls went, and he did not disappoint. The finished product turned out great. We went with LVP (luxury vinyl plank) in the whole house (except bathrooms) and Ted and his guys made it look awesome. Oh, and they finished 1 or 2 days ahead of schedule. Couldn't have asked for better work!

He helped us select the Mohawk brand carpeting for all three bedrooms. The guy and his wife who installed it also did an amazing job. They were here for over 7 hours and helped move our furniture out of the rooms and also move back following the install. The carpet looks amazing and we opted in to the plush memory foam padding which adds a more luxurious feel in all the bedrooms. Also, the quality of the carpet is exceptional and super easy to clean out stains simply with some warm water. The pricing and value was great. It's been right at a year since Rick and his team finished our project. We had our attic space over…read morethe garage closed in to make an upstairs bedroom for my son. It looks absolutely spectacular and it's still holding up perfectly. They had to not only move around many support beams but also had to build a staircase and put in a dormer. It's beautiful and well constructed...the work is fantastic and I have no doubt it was done correctly. Tyna is very professional and sweet, any time there was a hiccup with crew members being sick or the estimated time of completion changing she always handled it with grace and answered any questions I had. The project did take longer than anticipated but that was due to some unforeseen circumstances that nobody could have seen coming. I'm a stay at home mom with my toddler daughter and I never once felt uncomfortable with any crew member..they were all extremely polite and professional. After construction was completed we had a leak in our roof that wasn't related to their work at all..it was in a completely different part of the house but I could hear water running inside our ceiling and my husband wasn't home. In a panic I called Rick and he came over in a hurry (in a storm) to patch our roof from the inside until a roofer could get to us at no charge. They kinda became family to us over the months of them working at our home..which is exactly the kind of people we all want to hire. The only downfall I had was communication, I don't feel like I was given all of my options from the beginning and if I wasn't being given advice from my dad (a retired contractor) about more heat resistant insulation and the air conditioning situation up there it might not be as comfortable in the summer time. They are more on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. I did NOT want anyone short cutting wiring or something with my son sleeping up there causing a fire and I don't have that fear at all with TR Construction! I highly recommend them for any project you have..I know I'll be using them in the future for anything we need done.

Our house was getting renovated due to a flood that required our countertops and cabinets to be…read moreremoved. When it was time to go in with the countertops, our contractor suggested using this company. We spoke with the owner and he assured us everything would look great. He came out and took measurements and installed the countertops later that week while we were out of town. When we got back, we noticed a huge seam in the middle of the island. Our previous island did not require a seam so it would have been better business practice to inform a homeowner of this. So while the seam is necessary and we can accept that, the workmanship that was done is extremely poor. It is not level and the color doesn't match. When you run your hand over the seam it is not smooth. Our previous counters had a seam in another area of the kitchen and you could never feel it. We consulted two other companies and both explained why the seam looks and feels the way it does it because of the cuts that were made prior to install and poor installation technique. We addressed this with our contractor and we're told that this company is refusing to come fix it unless they are paid an additional $4,000. I will not be recommending this company to anybody and will strongly urge you to seek countertops from another place.
