Overpriced haircuts look really mediocre. Found matting still on my dog still under the arms. All the stuff in the shop like for example the treats are overpriced. We love Aqua Dogs because we know our pup is being treated with love while she's there. We originally found them because of the reviews on other doodles. Scarlet always comes home so happy and it makes us feel good we're sending her somewhere where she isn't scared. We need to spend more time clarifying the cut we want with the groomer. Since our pup is outside frequently, she needs her ears and tails groomed more than they have been doing. Besides how adorable my baby looked after his groom was that they do not use cages. Most groomers put the pets in cages before, after or whenever needed during the process but Aqua does notIs ! They let the pups play around with each other (unless they do not do well with other dogs, they do cage them for safety reasons) I hate putting my dogs in cages and my anxiety quickly subsided knowing that he'd be able to be treated with play time. Let me be clear, This rating is NOT for grooming services. They do an excellent job with grooming. This rating is directed at the self wash services ONLY. I had asked at a previous visit how much it was and I cost to use the self wash stations and I was told it was $15 for 30 minutes and $20 for an hour. Which I felt wasn't unreasonable and I never take more than 20-30 minutes anyway. So today I decided to take my dog in and give him a bath. I was asked how much my dog weighed because they charge by weight, so I was charged a base fee of $20, then they asked if I wanted to use the blower and of course I did, my dog has long hair. So I was informed that it was an additional $5 charge to use the blower, so my the time they added taxes it was it was it was $28 for a self service bath! On top of that they sent an attendant in with me, who hovered over me the whole time telling me how to use the water sprayer (which I'm not unfamiliar with a garden hose sprayer) and how to wash my dog. Then was told not to put too much soap or conditioner him. It was very irritating to say the least. I usually take my dog to a place downtown (not saying where) when I want to give him a bath and they charge $10 I can use as much soap and conditioner as I like, the tube is tall so I don't have to bend over the whole time I'm bathing my dog, they also have a blower that they do not charge you extra to use. So needless to say I will not be going to back to Aqua for the self service wash again. read more

We have taken our Yorkie a few times. He comes home clean and cute but seems like very little hair cut. Last time I asked to do a minimum cut on body but to trim face and eyes well. It appeared as though he had just had a bath. The price on this visit was $10 more than the last when we had had his teeth cleaned. I informed them we were unhappy and they called back and left message. I wasn't interested in loading my pup back up and driving him 25 minutes back. We always hate leaving our tiny Yorkie with groomers. But sometimes you have to. We went through all the registration and walked out feeling what our baby must be feeling. ANXIOUS! We weren't out the door five minutes when we got "the phone call ". Just knew they were calling us back.( our dog has to take prescription drugs for thunderstorms). Nope! Thank goodness! They were calling to let us know she calmed down when we were out of sight. I've never had anyone else ever do that in her three years. After that, I felt comfortable leaving her, so my husband and I had a nice lunch. It's almost time for her next grooming. We know where we'll go. We have only had one other groomer in three years. Unfortunately after numerous visits at approximately $160 each visit, this groomer can't meet the basic requirements of grooming. Something on one of my three dogs is missed each time, even after bringing it to their attention. Quantity over quality is never a good motto when running a business. read more

Took my Rudy to this groomer when I had an emergency out of town. She did a fabulous job and Rudy was much calmer and happy when I picked him up within a couple of hours. I've been searching for a place to get my dogs nails clipped & believe me, solidifying a dog groomer can be challenging. I was elated when I found Aqua Dog, because their store is so inviting, clean, & such friendly staff. However, first it was $25 just to get two dogs nails clipped. And of course I tipped five dollars, so $30 for nails?! Anyway all in all I really was happy. Then I came home & I noticed that my bigger dog's dew claws weren't cut! So I called and left them a message. That was on Friday & of course they're not open on the weekends so I had to wait until Monday. They just called & left a message. Of course I was invited to come back & have her dew claws cut, but I'm not driving all the way there just for that. I'll cut them myself. And what if this happened again? Is this going to be a habit? First time customer. Had a reservation, paid extra for the furminator treatment and informed them that shedding was the main issue. Only resquested light trimming on hind quarters and toe pads. The requested trimming wasn't done, the shedding is still bad, and on top of that, there are blatantly obvious razor marks just chopped into both sides of her trunk. Never getting my business again!
