Poseidon and I waiting to see the Veterinarian
    Jason W.

Schedules are first appointment with Mountain-stone veterinary, it was a super easy process and all the stay was very friendly and knowledgeable. My apt was for 0915 and was seen on time. The dr was able to identify what was going on with Poseidon and didn't try to make me pay for a bunch of tests. I highly recommend this veterinarian hospital and the staff!

    Before cherry eye

I do not believe in revenge or getting even. I believe what Gandhi said when he said " An eye for and eye makes the whole world blind." However, after talking online with a few former customers of Mountain Stone that never told their stories. I was concerned that if I remained silent somebody else would get hurt or lose their dog. My 5-month-old English Bulldog Puppy lost his eye while in the care of Mountain Stone and I don't want anyone to go through what I have. Boba Fett is my puppy. He had something called cherry eye and I had MS operate on his eye. They were supposed to do the same procedure they did on my female but instead removed his tear gland. This first surgery left Boba with extremely foul-smelling drainage and I was very worried about him. This surgery recovery was completely different from my previous dogs. I was very worried because his neck was drenched in this putrid drainage. Boba slept most of the time as he was drugged up and the only time, he was not in his crate was to eat, toilet, or to be babied by his mama and I. He was totally isolated from my other dogs but despite that, he did not improve so I took him back to the vet on Saturday. The vet was visibly worried but told me to keep him safe and we would see him back on Monday if he did not improve. I can't begin to tell you the sad state Boba and my wife and I were in over the remainder of the weekend. Monday arrived and I took him in. This time though I had my pup taken from my lap in the waiting area of the office. This was not an ordinary thing, and I was pretty perplexed at this, but after a few minutes the man brought him back. He said the eye didn't look good and to bring him back Friday if he didn't improve. I looked at his cloudy eye and back at the man and politely asked to see the doctor. When I did, I was escorted outside to the car port where the doctor waited. I was quite shocked to be outside, but I listened to the doctor as he assured me, he would handle things but that Boba needed an eye removal. I wasn't going to just cut his eye out right then without talking to my wife. When we did talk we went to get a second opinion At the University of TN in Knoxville. They said the eye needed to come out. They didn't want to say outright that he was at fault, but after we talked to them and explained how Boba had been cared for over the weekend they said it was most likely surgical error. the surgery would have cost 1300 dollars at UTK and we didn't have the money, but we did have a promise from the doctor that he would make this right. So we said goodbye to UTK told our kids there was nothing we could do and accepted that the eye had to go. I messaged the office after hours online and asked politely to see the doctor after the surgery to talk about his eye. The following day they called my wife and said that would be fine. So when I arrived to pick up my dog I expected to meet the doctor as i normally had for the past 2 years plus and talk with him. That did not happen unfortunately, but what did transpire the day of the surgery was unexpected and ugly. The doctor refused to see us and his staff publicly laughed in our face and demanded payment of 1100 dollars. The office was buzzing with people and this woman was attempting to paint me as some deadbeat who just showed up and didn't want to pay. I still can hardly believe this all happened. Despite being embarrassed I insisted on seeing the doctor but she said he would call me Saturday. I was expected to just leave my dog with these people until the next day? No way! We called the cops and eventually got an audience with the Vet. I have video of the entire thing from the police body cam. He essentially threatened to ransom my beloved dog and charge additional fees for boarding and such if I did not pay in full. He did say he took off 200 bucks but I told him that was an insult and not what he promised to do at all. I was expected to pay this man for fixing his mistake and he maintained he did nothing wrong! Needless to say, he never delivered on his promise and I ended up paying almost 400 dollars to get my dog back from him after he threatened to ransom him. I would say a lot more, but I think it's enough for you to know this happened and you can then make an educated decision about where to take your dog.

I think this is the best veterinary clinic in Cleveland. They have remodeled this location from what seemed to be a trailer years ago into this fancy building. They have improved everything you can think of. The service is absolutely remarkable if you call ahead and make a reservation the day before. They will even say across the intercom your pets name. For example, "Milton" is ready for exam room one. Then, an assistant will come out and ask your pets name which is of course "Milton". They know what they are doing as they gave me all the answers I was looking for. I could give all of them a hug because I left very happy from the care my pet received. Milton deserves to all the can cat food and a special place at the foot of my bed tonight.

So I left a review about how patient, kind, and understanding the staff here has been known to be. I claimed that this was a provider that you cannot go wrong with.. however, after our visit earlier today, my opinion has changed. About the provider herself these things remain true, as well as the younger receptionist. Unfortunately, the other older receptionist and every one of the techs I encountered today have dramatically changed my opinion and will keep me from returning to this place in the future. Snippy attitudes, literal eye rolls, dramatic sighs, and general lack of empathy and decency. One thing after another, tensions rising, and through it all not once did I have as much audacity as they to behave the way the situation most definitely warranted. Charged for services not rendered. Lack of attention to detail. Dismissive behavior. Inaccurate record keeping.. I could honestly go on. I deleted my previous review before I'd even finished checking out. I have referred friends and family to this center for years.. no more. My recommendation to the new owner? The tech (I'm assuming) didn't know the answers to basic questions (their recommendations for annual vaccines/testing for cats as well as pricing/recommended frequency of vaccines/testing), and had to leave the room to go ask someone else literally every time I asked a question. She also aggressively scruffed my adult cat that was behaving perfectly. I understand if you need to scruff a cat to temporarily control it in an emergency, but scruffing my cat on an exam table when she was being perfectly quiet and calm is absolutely uncalled for. It seemed like she had either never been taught how to restrain a cat gently for an exam or just didn't care to do so. To top it all off, Bucky Bancroft is racist. I mentioned that I had just moved here from Memphis and he responded that he "has passed through the city but doesn't much care for all the black people there," and went on to tell a story about hauling his horses through Memphis and how he didn't want to stop for gas because he was the only white person at the gas station (mind you I also have horses and know exactly what it's like to leave them in a trailer to run inside a gas station). I guess he felt comfortable enough to make racist comments during what should have been lighthearted conversation because I'm white, but that was the absolute last straw for me. I took my cats back to the front desk, paid for what they'd done so far (just a brief physical exam), and left. I will certanly never be back.

They leave you sitting in a room for hours or forget your even there that's happened to me twice. When you walk in no one acknowledges your even there so in my opinion I think there rude and very unorganized no one knows what's going on ever it's mostly a big mess every time I have to go. So I think after 14 years it's time to move on my pup has skin problems and it's only getting worse and no one seems to know how to help her they just guess at what they think it could be and charge a fortune each time you have to come back because what they did or prescribed didn't help. Mind you they guaranteed me that I would not have to pay for anything if the nails grew back. Well I got call after call to pay for the follow up even though their surgery didn't work. Then for the person who did the surgery to tell me it's above her pay grade to determine if I should be charged or not. When everyone on the staff team told me it was up to her. She honestly could have worded it differently and I wouldn't be upset. Then i waited almost 2 months for the owner to call me after leaving multiple messages about this. This place may seem friendly but they just want your money. Now I'm having to find someone else do help with my cats foot due to them not caring about their patients. I understand they're just animals but this animal is my baby and we should be treated better.
