Horrible customer service and overpriced. I take my dogs to their groomer in Nashville because this place sucks so much.

I have been bringing my Pomeranian to Groomingdales for over a year. She has to be groomed every five weeks, so I leave her in Groomingdales's care fairly often. They are always prompt, polite, and professional. I have never seen any of the staff speak to or handle a dog with anything but kindness. My Pomeranian always comes home looking great, smelling good, and in a cheerful attitude. She has never shown any signs of stress or fear after her visits. The staff always gives me an update on how she did, they have educated me to better care for her coat, and they have never done anything I didn't ask for. If they were unable or uncomfortable with doing something, the groomers always consulted with me on what I wanted and what they felt best, so we have never had any surprises when picking her up. You can rest easy while your pet is at Groomingdales, knowing they are being treated and cared for by loving and knowledgeable staff. If you're making your first appointment, you may have a wait, but it is worth it to get onto their schedule. I'd recommend calling a week or two in advance of when you think your pup needs to be groomed. We just schedule our next appointment when we are checking out and have never had a problem with appointments. read more

Big fan!! Luke needed some freshening up, so to speak, and I had gotten to like the boutique-y part of this outfit so I checked them out for a full groom. Glad I did! They have several different options for wash, cut, etc and he needed the full groom. Prices are based on dog type, size, fur and such. For L, the full monty (bath, trim all over, ears and teeth) was $37! This is $20 or so less than what I paid most anywhere in Atlanta. I wasn't really worried about paying that much less for his care, after talking to the staff and feeling really comfortable about how their work would come out. They vary in busy-ness different days of the week, so that determines when you get an appointment to drop your dog off and how long before you can pick him or her up. As my only day off was Thu, I had to take an early am slot (8am) and was told to expect him to be ready around 2, possibly 3. I ended up getting a call just past 1:15 that he was ready. He looks handsome, they did the cut just as I requested, and seemed perfectly calm and happy after a few hours spent between grooming, crate time, etc. We will definitely be back (even if it means sneaking L into a cab to get to North Shore, in one of those big Whole Foods bags with the side pockets!!). read more

Really awesome pet grooming boutique - our dog was a regular when we lived in Chattanooga, and we would take her there every 2-3 weeks for her routine bathing, which would leave her so clean, it was actually hard to believe she was a dog. Friendly service from the owner here, and pets are treated very nicely by all the grooming staff. If we ever move back to Chattanooga, we will be back! read more

Let me just say that before I took my dog here I had THE WORST experience at a different groomer and was terrified to take my dog to another after. When I picked her up she was so happy and looked fantastic! The price was only 41 for a full cut and primp and everyone I talked to was great. I will be going back to this groomer again. read more

From out of town, my Lhasa needed a bath and cut. With little direction as to style, they did a perfect job on short notice. Recommended by Casey at the new Westin Hotel. Dropped my dog off early and he was done by 11:00am. Amazing job. read more

We've taken our pup there 4 times now and we won't be taking her back. She has short hair, so we need her bathed, nails trimmed and ears cleaned. Numerous times we have asked them to be sure to Furminate her to get rid of shedding, but within the same day we are petting hair off of her. This last visit was so bad that she didn't even smell clean when she got home. We made a trip back to Michigan and had her old groomer take care of her. It was over a week before she started shedding again, and they said they filled a full cup full of hair from her, and this was shortly after she went to Groomingdales. Our old groomer said it seems like they are not brushing her well when they clean her. It was amazing how much softer and better smelling she was when we took her back to Michigan. We never experienced that at Groomingdales. Also, our dog loves people and loves going to her other groomer. This last time we took her here, she didn't even want to go inside. read more

Took my 4.5 yr old golden there to get groomed. He had an injury when he was a puppy and had to have surgery on his front left leg. I informed the staff when I dropped him off to be careful with that leg, as it was sensitive. He had no had any problems with this leg/foot for 2 years since we had the pin they placed in it when he was a baby removed. When I picked him up, he was limping and as after I brought him home, he wouldn't even put weight on this foot. I called Groomingdales who was defensive and claimed they treat "every dog the same" and couldn't imagine any reason why he would be limping. Of course I do not believe that they would intentionally hurt an animal, all I knew was he was fine when I dropped him off and limping when I picked him up. I really just wanted valuable information to tell my vet so we know what happened and what the problem could be. Instead Groomingdales took the standard defensive position, patronized me and said "I mean, it's not like we stabbed him in the foot with scissors." Great, thanks. That's helpful. read more

So, I don't typically yelp but, I felt it necessary after my last visit at Gromingdales. To keep it short and sweet, I'll avoid delving into too much history on our labradoodle that we've taken there several times. However, I want consumers to be aware of the pros and cons in utilizing this establishment. To be quite honest, the end product of their services is good. Our pup always comes home looking the way we would expect after paying top dollar for a professional groomer. The not so good things are having to put up with rude and snarky comments/attitudes at times. There is also inconsistency among-st the groomers. Things always look great on the surface and then upon further inspections we will notice things, important things haven't been done, For instance, our dog has floppy ears and after a full groom we noticed they were still quite hairy and had to bring him back to have them done. This is after a 5 hour visit. Then I noticed when I pulled the hair apart on his ears and tail that it was still partially tangled and had not been fully brushed out. On another occasion (the 5 hour visit), we were called with someone asking, "did anyone tell you dog was done"? When I replied no, I also made sure to ask how long he had been waiting. "Well, we finished an hour or so ago, someone was supposed to call you". Hmm, that's a little concerning that he was forgotten about. Let's not forget that he downs a bowl full of water when he returns home and has to relieve himself immediately. Which tells me after being there for a portion of the day he has not been walked or given any water. So, here's my take on all of this...if you enjoy paying top dollar to be criticized and find an inadequate job acceptable, this is where you should spend your money. If you value professional business interactions and courteous behavior along with a thorough job well done, go somewhere else. In my opinion I pay too much money and love my pup far to much to be treated by others like I don't take care of him. This should be a labor of love. I mean come on, what dog really likes getting groomed? And what owner likes being chastised while in the process of doing somersetting that you know your pet doesn't like. My suggestion, brush up on your professionalism and make helpful suggestions on grooming tips to remedy the situation. That would go a lot further than just criticizing your customers. read more

Recently rescued a Maltese from Southern Comfort Maltese Rescue. Could not love the little guy (Obi-Wan) more and he's been the perfect gentleman. First grooming was with another local shop that is well known....didn't get a good vibe from them and the job was so so and they seemed like they could care less about our dog. No problem...we'll just find another. Called Groomingdales, very nice on phone and got us in the same week. They called to confirm the day before, again very cordial. Took him there today and they fell all over themselves praising him and making a fuss over him. Asked for a puppy cut and when we picked him up he had a perfect one, unlike our request at other shop that went unheeded. Took 3 hrs and they called as soon as he was done, was half the price of other shop, and he looked fantastic. Everyone there was super nice and Obi-Wan seemed very comfortable after his visit. Don't really yelp but thought I should give a shout out to this shop and their good service and great work. Thanks Guys!! We will be repeat customers for sure!! read more
