We didn't notice the decline at first. Things were maintained to an acceptable level and the team (Amelia in particular) was super responsive. Then, things took a sharp turn for the worst. Our pool started showing signs of pool algae. I had to bring this to the attention of the owner and he confirmed they would shock the pool. Little details down to simply not skimming, leaving the waterfall on, in and out within 5-10 minutes and I had enough. Attached are images of how they left our pool. The owner was quick to point blame on us, while admitting that yes, indeed, they had changed technicians. Avoid this company and seek services elsewhere. We have different standards of service. Colin and Amelia are gems and I wish this business continued success. It's too bad we had to part ways on such disappointing terms after such a wonderful beginning.

They are competitively priced and exceptionally consistent in their care for our pool and equipment. I see the same person at my home weekly and they have the same routine. The pool and the equipment have been taken care of as if it is their own. We have had a couple of challenges with the pool equipment through the years and Larry makes sure that his team is responsive and comes to the property himself if needed. We have found that all fixes are very reasonably priced and the work done expeditiously, we have never had to call them back about work completed. We bought a house in Tempe and CAM Pools was servicing it, so we continued with them. After some…read morebig storms, the pool was a mess. [Added later: CAM's own report had photos showing it was a mess, but these aren't apparently reviewed by the owner.] CAM Pools didn't do much to clean up, and never told us hey, you need to pay more for storm cleanup. They basically left it to us to unclog the vacuum robot and clean up which we did as best we could. The chemistry was also very bad, as we found out later. The pressure on the pool filter was also way too high. [Added later: CAM's technician dutifully sent us a photo showing the pressure at 28 psi, but never told us that was bad.] That's all fixable, but they broke a tile (covering a skimmer basket) and never told us. Not great. But why they get only two stars is when I called the phone number in the "we cleaned your pool" email to cancel our service, the owner was positively mad at me for canceling without giving him a chance to fix the issues. He was angry and blamed me for not calling him earlier. He never apologized for these obvious problems or took responsibility. He wanted to yell at me for daring to complain without having called him first. Hard to believe that his company messed up and his angry reaction was that it was all my fault. [Added later: Note the owner's responses are "I'm sorry you feel that way" not "I'm sorry my company messed up." I hung up because he wanted to continue to argue with me about how I should have given him a chance to fix these problems. I was done with CAM and had every right to cancel without explanation. I never asked him to fix anything. If he really has a recording, I hope he posts it.] Contractors make mistakes. That's part of the territory. But blaming and yelling at the customers is not good. We checked and it was under warranty with only a few months left on the warranty. Saved us thousands by not trying to upsell. We ended up getting a new salt cell, and 5 new pool lights replaced free because of his recommendations. Pool is ready for summer. I was impressed with his knowledge, he showed us something our original installer missed that for sure will help us with maintenance. I was outside of the 3 year warranty that they offered by about 6 months, but had no problem paying for the work. The woman who answered the phone was pleasant each time I called, but it took several attempts over several weeks to get a call back from someone who could assist. Each time she said she'd pass my info on and I'd hear back when they (I believe the owner, but I can't say for sure) returned. I finally got ahold of someone and scheduled an appointment for them to come out and repair the tiles. I changed my work schedule around to accommodate their appointment window and they never showed. I called towards the end of the window and then again afterwards. I left voicemails each time to try to find out if they were still coming. Nobody answered and I never received a call back. I strongly suggest giving your money to a business that wants and appreciates it.
