Took my boy in for a free swim lesson over the weekend. First, the ladies at the front desk were very nice. However, I was shocked by how busy/crowded it was! We waited in the seating area but we were never called back for his class so one of the girls escorted us to the pool area, where it looked like our class had already started. There were multiple classes going on at the same time....too many. Each class was given a small section of the pool (which looked cloudy and the chlorine smell was pretty strong). Too many classes at one time made it very hard to even hear the instructor and focus on the exercises. I'd recommend going on a weekday instead. Also, I wouldn't pay the monthly cost for swim lessons, simply because I'd prefer something more private - especially with as much as they charge. read more

Feb. 2021- high this Saturday, 2/20/2021 is 45. Aqua Tots has already cancelled classes for Saturday. I found this place to be real quick to cancel classes, but good luck rescheduling, unless you can go to a class during the week at 10 AM or 1 PM. I have 2 boys enrolled and I pay $172 per month. We have make up classes, BUT here's the catch, if you cancel or stop paying, you can't make up your classes. And with COVID, classes are minimal. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Service sucks. They WILL NOT WORK WI TH YOU, but will take your money! read more

My daughter has been going to classes here for a while and she loves it! She has learned so much and my wife and I feel confident that she will excel this summer when the pools are open. We appreciate the company sticking to the 6 foot rule and going above and beyond to make sure we are safe. Angel looks forward to class and is always ready to go see coach Misty! I have read other reviews and they complain about wearing a mask. Good grief people, this pandemic has been going on for a year and if you don't know you need a mask that is on you! read more

As someone who has 20+ years of swim instructor experience along with running multiple swim schools, based on my research I thought AquaTots would be a great place to bring my 3 year old daughter to learn. Boy was I wrong about this location. Each location is a franchise and ran somewhat differently. My experience with a previous AquaTots location for my older son was completely different. AquaTots emailed me a survey to fill out and I expressed my concerns about how my daughter's class was being taught. My response highlighted several items that were being done improperly. I then later received a phone call from Christy the General Manager and she explained to me that her teachers follow the curriculum strictly. I specifically mentioned that my daughter was being dunked repeatedly during one of the 1st skills causing her to swallow water and be upset for the rest of the class. The very next class it happened again after telling Christy the GM what was happening nothing was corrected. I asked for my 30 day cancellation and in my exit notes I wrote "Over the next month I'll be taking video of the skills being done incorrectly and sending them to Corporate and posting on Google, yelp and community pages to show people what they are getting themselves into. Christy I applaud you for standing up for your instructor and AquaTots curriculum, but without you actually watching the class how can you be so sure it's being done correctly? You just assume it is...." So I did exactly what I said I was going to do. I get to the very next class and start recording and magically the class is being taught very differently. I'm glad I could inform you Christy of the skills that were being done wrong and you FINALLY corrected the instructor. I was excited about the next 3 lessons my daughter was going to receive before her 30 day cancellation was over. Even though multiple times during her class I heard multiple staffers ask "Is that him?" referring to me... However, on my way out with my daughter Christy the GM said "Mr. Amate I saw your exit note and would like to offer you this be your last class. We will waive your 30 day cancellation." She once again singled me out in the lobby in public just like the other staffers talking about me the whole time. As we continued the conversation, she kept on defending the way class was being taught and she watched the video and the skill I called dunking my daughter was called a bob. I know what a bob is and they weren't doing a bob correctly until this last class. She didn't address it after my survey and my initial conversation it wasn't until my exit note was it truly addressed. I felt very uncomfortable with this conversation and felt very uncomfortable with being singled out. At the end, Christy just stated we are done here I can cancel your class. Based on the uncomfortableness I didn't feel like I had another option so I agreed. To Andy and Lynn the Owners, "Your core Values" 1. Choose relationships over profits. You chose me exposing your flaws which cuts into your profits over a relationship where I could have helped you by showing you things being done wrong. I watched other classes while at your school and there is plenty to fix. 2. Seek first to understand, then to be understood. You and your GM did not want to understand what I was trying to tell you. Your GM kept trying to get me to understand it from her side. 3. Treat each other the way we each desire to be treated. Offering someone a free cancellation before the 30 days is pretty much the same as saying we don't want you here. So I don't really feel like I was treated nicely or with respect. 4. Affirm each other's strengths and protect each others weaknesses. I was never affirmed. I started by doing this in the survey to protect your weaknesses, but that is one of your core values not mine. 5. Extend grace to the teachable. There was no grace given from your side. I gave you guys the opportunity to make this right. 6. Praise in Public, correct in Private. Well I had to teach this to your GM also. 7. Think outside the box- always question the status quo There was no thinking of any sort it was just the GM defending what she thought was right. You guys might want to rewrite realistic Core values because you're failing at these. read more

We love Aqua -tots. My kids look forward to going each week and love being in the water and learning! The teachers and front desk staff are amazing, understanding and very accommodating. My youngest was difficult at the begging but they never complained about him and worked with him to get him comfortable in the water and now loves it! We've had to reschedule and change a few classes and they were very helpful and worked with us to make sure we got exactly what we needed! I would recommend this place to everyone because it's simply the best! Looking forward to continue the lessons until the kids reach the highest level! read more

Took our daughter here for swimming classes. The classes were a little crowded and been going for months now and still doesn't know how to swim. I realize they want to keep the monthly fees rolling in but they need a faster program than month after month of classes and your kid isn't anywhere close to swimming yet. My 3 year old daughter has been attending Aqua Tots in Mansfield for the past 7 months. A couple of days ago we were visiting our neighbors house, who have a pool. She was knocked in accidentally and she stayed composed swam to the edge and began to pull herself out. Of course we were so alarmed we grabbed her up before she had the chance, but I know she could have gotten herself out, if needed. Thank you Aqua Tots and Especially her wonderful teachers Jasmine and Jericho. I absolutely love the instructors but the customer service is horrible. Especially if you are trying to do a makeup lesson. They aren't real happy to schedule a makeup lesson or easy to work with when you need to change the schedule. They scheduled me for the wrong level after I told them the child's name and that I didn't remember the level she was on. Then when I showed up at the time they told me to I was told I was wrong and said the wrong level. Leaving me with a terribly upset child and no remedy for their mistake. This was not the first time they missed up and weren't willing to fix their error. If you need a place that will work with you and your busy schedule go elsewhere!! read more

Great place for swim lessons for babies & little kids. Our family had a great experience!

My daughter has been coming here for a few years. She's worked her way from level 1 to level 6. I have seen a huge improvement in her swimming ability and confidence. I love that we never lose a class if she has to miss a day. We just call ahead and she can reschedule the missed class. Totally worth the money in my opinion. I'll be enrolling my infant in the program soon. read more

Took my son here for classes when he was about 8 and 9 months. His instructor named Paige was very good and very patient with him and he liked her. One guy who I forgot his name who had to sub in for Paige one time was not so patient with him. The place is a little pricey though even for once a week 30 minute lessons. It didn't seem worth it if I could easily do the simple exercises on my own time in a public pool. Another thing I didn't like was that there wasn't enough seating area around the pool. It's good for just one parent to go with their kids cause there's not much sitting area for other family members to watch. The place was surprisingly small and didn't have a lot of dressing rooms and rooms with baby tables in them. I would suggest this place if you're willing to spend the money and your child really likes swimming. I'd probably suggest it'd be more worthwhile for an older child. My husband and I just wanted to try a swim class for a couple of months for our son. It was a nice experience overall. The staff is really nice there. read more

The instructors appear to be right out of high school. In a basic class, they didn't even tell my kid to hold his breath. My kid lost confidence in the instructor after 2 lessons and didn't want to go back. They have a 30 day cancelation policy. I think I know why they have the cancelation policy. It's probably to ensure they have a constant revenue coming in even if people drop out of the school. If they are really good then I don't think they would need such a cancelation policy. I called and asked why they had the cancelation policy as we were debating on whether or not to stay with it for another month. They told me on the phone that if I came in and filled out the 'drop form' then they wouldn't charge me for the next month even though it was less than a 30 day notice. My wife went in and filled out the form and was told that we would get charged for the next 30 days. WHAT? The right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. Rip off! read more

I'm mainly reviewing because I want to warn others. I felt ignored by the workers 90% of the time but they were nice when they actually acknowledged me. They didn't give good direction at all. I went in for a free lesson that I had planned with them over the phone and was told to bring a disposable swimming diaper or a reusable one would work even better and to wear a swimsuit myself since I would be getting in the pool with my son. Once I got there I felt so awkward because they asked me if I had brought a towel. I was never told to bring a towel (maybe I should have just in case BUT it would have helped to know FOR SURE when I was on the phone with them) so I was given a couple of damp towels that had obviously been used already. So when we actually got to the pool, the person who brought us there said "you're not supposed to have him in disposable diapers but I'll let it slide this time" seriously?! Way to make me feel good about the first time being here. I also made the mistake of going on a Saturday, it was unbelievably busy. The lesson was OKAY. Nothing that I couldn't teach my son myself. I just didn't feel like what he was being taught was worth any money so I decided not to proceed with lessons. Overall I was just kind of disappointed. read more

My son just finished the fast track lessons, and we won't be back. The lessons were the exact same thing every day. There was no progression. I was told originally that he would be in a class with older kids(which was great). He was grouped with 2 year olds, and he's 4. His teacher had a family emergency and was only there the first week. I couldn't get a straight answer about whether or not the sub would be the same person each day(it wasn't). We paid for 30 minute lessons and ended up with about 20 minutes of instruction. It felt very rushed. When I asked for a list of targeted skills for the level my son was working on, so we could help him practice at home, I was told no because, "we'd be out of our jobs". NOT HAPPY with that response. Learning occurs when lots of practice is involved. This place left a bad taste in my mouth and I would not recommend it. It's just a business trying to make money, not a "swim school". read more
