Lauren was great at instruction with the kids, and both got up pretty quickly. She was also giving really good advise to me and my wife on wake boarding and surfing. They have an air conditioned portable bathroom trailer that is decent. 6 stalls in the women's room and they were fairly clean. The summer heat had them smelling a little funky, but I'm not sure what can be done to fix that. The staff was friendly. The school bus ride back to the starting point after the float was nostalgic. For a moment, it took me back to feeling like we were on a school field trip. We definitely see ourselves coming back but at least bringing our own floats for our coolers to cut down on the expense. We had a large group with 2 coolers so it was $50 just to bring our coolers along.

Before arriving to the dock, Trisha, who has been coordinating with us, and Brett, our captain, contacted us about half an hour ahead of time notifying us that Brett was ready for us at the lake whenever we arrived! Upon arrival, he provided a cooler with ice and water bottles for us to use to store some of our sandwiches and drinks. The boat ride was extremely smooth and he provided much insight into Lake Travis! The boat was equipped with speakers that allowed us to play our favorite songs and the slide & lily pad were a nice added touch! The girls and I thoroughly enjoyed it and the location he chose, Devil's Cove, was great for pictures and swimming. We've done a few tours on Ladybird Lake with different companies and never tire of it. Austin Paddle Shack is definitely one of the better outfits around. Safety is extremely important to them. The staff want to ensure you're having a good time without any issues. My coordination is often lacking so that wasn't really anything they could help me with. Other than that, definitely recommend.

I've been a member for 4 or 5 years and have nothing but great things to say about the club. I owned boats for over 10 years and as a single female, most of my girlfriends couldn't back a trailer or help me with getting the boat in the water so I was usually doing it all by myself (which isn't easy with a 22+ foot boat). When I was with a guy who didn't know how to do those things it was awkward. Plus, owning and storing a boat as nice as the club has was more than twice as expensive. I've been tempted to buy a boat again a few times over the past few years but every time I walk up to a boat at Volente Boat Club that is already on the lake and ready to go.....and then I get off the boat and never have to clean or maintain it......well, that's an easy decision. I will say that the dock hands get to know you and it feels good to walk up with a group of friends and be greeted by name and treated like you are valued. It strokes the ego a bit. Also, in all of the years as a member I've never had problems getting a reservation.....and I'm really bad about waiting until the last minute to book. In fact, today I called them up around 11 and said I would be out there some time between 2-3 and they got me right on a boat. At the end of the day, Alex, the manager saw my son and I walking to the parking lot (which is the only downside.....but great exercise) and he told us to jump in his car and gave us a ride up the hill to where we were parked. That is customer service. :) I love the club and it's really the best way to enjoy a carefree lake experience.
