The staff thoroughly explained how to operate the boat, anchor, and navigate the lake, which is why we chose to return for Fourth of July weekend. Unfortunately, the difference in service was night and day. At check-in, despite having reserved and paid months in advance, we were asked not only for our reservation confirmation but also for my fiancé's bank transaction to prove payment because of the marina's history of fraudulent reservations. As returning customers, being asked to provide our personal banking information to verify a reservation was both unnecessary and wildly unprofessional. Once on the lake, we had difficulty anchoring and called for assistance. We followed the instructions we were given, but the anchor detached completely from the rope. We returned to the marina and were charged for a replacement anchor. Later, when it was time to leave, the replacement anchor became stuck. Even after two nearby boaters swam over to help, we could not retrieve it. We called the marina again, asked for troubleshooting, and requested someone come assist us. We were told no. We had no choice but to return without the anchor and were charged for both anchors and a late fee--even though the delay resulted from equipment issues and the marina declined to assist us on the water. What disappointed me most wasn't the charges--it was the lack of customer service. As renters with limited boating experience, we relied on the marina's guidance and assistance when problems arose. Instead, we were left to figure it out ourselves and then billed for the outcome. I emailed management in an effort to resolve the matter privately before posting a review and never received a response. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Lakeway Marina and will be taking my business elsewhere.

What a rip-off! This week I had two jetskis serviced at the new Full Throttle Seadoo place in…read moreKingsland. All that was done was an oil change and replacing three spark plugs. The bill came to $863.13 or $432 per jetski!! For an oil change which takes 3.5 quarts of oil and a filter! The parts came to about $112, the rest was for labor at $170 an hour plus shop supplies, hazardous waste charge (oil), and credit card fee (3.5%). And by the way, it took this Master mechanic (at $170 he must top-of-the line) 1.5 hours to do this oil change! Incidentally, I looked at an old 2023 bill, when the exact same mechanic changed the oil in the exact same jetskis and it took him 1.2 hours per jetski then. And of course the hourly rate was a lot cheaper back then too (37% cheaper), but it's different ownership now when Full Throttle took over from Highland Lakes Seadoo. I guess they had to increase the time the mechanic worked on these jetskis or raise the labor rate even more to get more money in, but how much more than $170 per hour are you going to charge for a guy doing a basic oil change? Or perhaps the mechanic is slowing down in his old age, who knows? My advice? Perhaps it pays to look for a different place. By the way, all the positive reviews (with the exception of one) are about Highland Lakes Seadoo, which were the previous owners. I liked that place. The new ownership has turned greedy.

If you live here in Texas or you're going to be visiting the Austin area, here's a tip!…read more We had an incredible experience with Longtab Charters on Lake Travis! From start to finish, everything was first-class. The boat was clean, comfortable, and perfect for enjoying a day on the water with friends and family. What truly made the trip exceptional was Captain Matt. He was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly accommodating to our family's needs throughout the entire charter. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time, and his attention to detail made the experience completely stress-free. We showed up with our towels and drinks for the day, and Captain Matt and First Mate Summer provided the rest. They even provided the floats when we anchored in one of the many beautiful coves on the lake and just enjoyed the sun and the conversations. This is the best way to enjoy Lake Travis! I highly recommend Longtab Charters. Captain Matt delivers outstanding customer service and creates an unforgettable experience on the water. We'll definitely be booking again! 5 Stars!!!
