They. Have been building a pool for over 7 weeks in the yard behind mine. The worker cuss, they leave garbage stacked up. They trespassed with sand,sludge, mud coming over a 6 foot area of rock bed. A man identified himself as pool builder said it was his fault and he would fix it. I am still waiting for him to put the new rocks down. But even worse they have filled the pool and not put a temporary safety fence around it. A child could easily fall in as there are many children and some cut thru the area close to the pool. We contracted with Aquarian Pools & Spas recently to build our fiberglass pool. Our experience, from start to finish was great! I understand some of the other reviews state the communication was not good HOWEVER, I am in sales and always err on over communicating and could not have been more pleased. Aquarian had to work with various other crews during our 4 month construction phase which is not always an easy task. Although we won't get to enjoy our pool until April, I am confident it was built correctly and will allow us to enjoy many years swimming with friends and family. Do not buy a pool here!!!! once you pay for the pool, you are own your own!! They never return your calls. it's a different excuse every time you talk to someone. I purchased an above ground pool (from Jim). He told us my pool would be installed by the first week of May. Jim gave me the contractors phone number. However, the contractor never once called me back so after contacting Jim on several occasions, it was finally installed on the week of June 10th. When installing the pool for an additional $1150.00 the contractors Backhoe brook down so instead of getting the backhoe fixed, he dug the hole by hand. 2 days later it was finally installed. (with the wrong liner). I ask the installer if he would teach me to run the pump, he told me (no) look on YouTube. I ask him if he was going to level the ground around the pool and he told me (no) that was not included in the price. He couldn't even put the latter together. So me and my husband had to rent a Backhoe and level the dirt ourselves. He didn't even put together or install the latter. PLEASE DO NOT BUY A POOL HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT!! read more

Before we handed over our down payment, I stressed that communication is very important to me. I asked them to not take the job if they couldn't communicate. They took the check and job. They then did everything in their power to Not Communicate. Being this bad at communication takes work! We had multiple conversations with Jim, then the next conversation the story would change or he would never respond when a date came and went. While filling out our HOA App, Jim told me 3-4 weeks for install from time of Delivery. Our July delivery was in Sept and the pool sat in our yard for quite some time before digging began. We were bumped on digging because our Ops Manager said he was never told the dirt was leaving the site. He had no place to take it. 10 weeks later our pool was done, but never cleaned to swimmable condition. We had to ban the Construction Manager from our yard for asking us to leave work to meet him multiple times then not showing up , trying to flood our basement by saying we didn't need to connect the backwash hose at all, and turning on/leaving on our heater without telling us. Our pool school was lacking - the Tech had never seen our mechanics and we have no idea how to run it when the pool opens in the spring. Not to mention he was 30 minutes late for our pool school then seem bothered to show us anything. If you use them - get absolutely everything in writing. Like when you say you will take down the fence and they say no we don't need it to come down - get that in writing or they will come in with hammers and destroy your fence that they said you didn't need to carefully take down. In a time of delays and unknowns, we gave Aquarian every chance to be the pool company that communicated and did the best they could in the current economy, we wanted them to be the ones who tried their best to come out ahead. We knew it was going to be a long process and some of it out of their control, which is why we only asked for communication - a simple and inexpensive ask. Due to all of this, I would not recommend Aquarian, but I do hope they learn that communication is key in this world. I will highly recommend the contracted concrete company and the electrician, both went out of their way on customer service! read more

Seriously where to begin. We spent almost $130,000.00 On a pool and spa from This location. Needless to say, this is our second season with the pool and "spa" and NOTHING WORKS. The spa won't heat , don't have a cover, the auto cover doesn't work and the pool has been a mess since day one. We opted for fiberglass because of the local weather. The owner continues to try and get the final money released from the bank. Thank God, they call us first. We're again on Our second season with our pool and NOTHING works. We bought our hot tub here. They have been easy to work with; delivery was great. We've brought our water in for testing; always available for our questions. We are very happy with our purchase. (It is much more expensive all in after electricity and cement pad; we just bought at a time when things are costing more and we didn't research well enough the true all in cost- but that is completely separate from Aquarian and more of an FYI for those looking at purchasing a hot tub. read more

We had a wonderful experience with Aquarian. Jim, Tyler, Darren, Becky, and the whole crew were amazing to work with. The entire installation took exactly 30 days from breaking ground to pool school. They were on time and on schedule during the entire process. Jim, Tyler, and Darren were so patient with all my newbie, dumb, and repetitive questions. The longest wait was for Latham to actually get the shell built and delivered. Jim was an amazing advocate for us with Latham in pushing them to deliver for us. Once we got the delivery date, everything flew. My kiddos were swimming in a crystal clear pool 48 hours after the shell was put in the ground. I highly recommend Aquarian to anyone that asks about our experience! read more

Becky saved the day!! I am a new home owner and the previous owners volunteered to help us open the pool for the first time. When they arrived, I realized I needed more pool supplies to open the pool. I rushed to Aquarian Pools & Spas and, to my horror, they closed at 6. A worker, Becky, unlocked the door, asked if I knew exactly what I needed, swiftly gathered the requested supplies, and allowed me to check out even after 20 minutes passed closing! Becky was so kind, she even helped carry the supplies to my car. I am so appreciative I had to share how impressed and blown away I am with her customer service. Aquarian Pools is a very poorly managed and operated company. We contracted with their in-house fast talker, Jim Burkhart, and every promise and guarantee that he made was altered or broken. Scheduling, quality and installation assurances were never honored. In the end, I would have been surprised if they could blow up an inflatable pool properly. Since nothing can be changed at this point, the only combative measure available is to warn others of their many flaws and shortcomings. In short, steer clear of Aquarian Pools. read more

Horrible experience. After calling a few companies to begin the process of designing an inground pool, we thought we found the right one. This could not have been further from the truth. Jim came out to our house and spent about 10 minutes talking to us before leaving and saying he would provide some drawings and estimates in a few days time. About a month later, we have heard absolutely nothing. Not a call or email. I have called the store multiple times asking for Jim to reach out at his convenience, to which I was promised he would call me the next day. We still have heard nothing. We recently had to have a new liner installed in our in ground pool which we refused to go near Jim and Aquarian since they installed our last liner 13 years ago and did a shabby job. Did not come back to correct their mistakes as promised. Plus 13 years ago we paid double of what we just paid to have this new liner. The company that laid this liner is awesome. Stands behind their work, 100%. Not to mention we used to buy all our chemicals and even bought gas logs from them. Never go back again! The worst. I came to them with spa questions and they sold me pool equipment. With a guarantee of being able to exchange chemicals if I wasn't satisfied, I showed up to be denied not only a refund but even a fair trade of chemicals. The sales person denied his work and even blamed it on a "high schooler employee" who "doesn't know what he's talking about". It was the same employee both times. When I called to explained the problem, he wanted to talk to my husband even though I was there for the purchase. I guess a woman can't understand money and mechanical things! I would never recommend this pool company to anyone! As we were so excited to get a pool for our house in our family and friends, we were very disappointed from the get-go as Jim was dishonest the whole time with dates and and so much more! We are having a major issue two years later and he won't even call me on the phone only text and does not answer the phone when I call him and I leave a message with no response. His concrete crew a very unprofessional and vulgar towards women. My husband is so disappointed with them that he will not even speak with them anymore about anything concerning the pool. Where he was very excited to use this company and we were planning on using them for all our pool chemicals openings and closings. But that never happened because it was such a disappointment to work with him. He has been paid so I feel like they are not wanting to help us out with anything! I can seriously go on about all of the issues that we have with them. Absolutely useless company. I paid them over $200 for a pool opening and they did not provide a single service to any degree of satisfaction. They intentionally dumped every bit of debris from my cover into the pool, charged me for extra chemicals I never agreed to pay for, and hooked up all three hoses incorrectly to my pump and filter. When I tried to contact them for service recovery, the manager Jim, would not call me back despite telling me over and over he'd call me "right back" or "tomorrow morning." I called almost every day for a week and a half to try to get something from them. The best they could offer me was a $50 store credit. You could not pay me to accept goods or services from them again. read more

We are entering our fourth summer with out 16' X 32' in ground pool installed by Aquarian. While Aquarian wasn't the cheapest, they explained it was because their equipment was better. So far that seems to be the case. We have a few friends with pools the same age, however they purchased their pools elsewhere and have already had to replace filters and heaters. We have saved money in the long run compared to our friends. Installation was fairly seemless. We were out of state for the beginning of the installation, and they regularly provided updates and stayed on schedule. My only frustration occurred when it came to the final grading. Our pool was full of water, but grading needed done in order for our fencing company to stay on schedule. The grading was delayed a couple of times, and I was terrified of having a pool with no fence. Once the owners learned of our issue, it was resolved within hours. We believe the product, advice during installation, and the installation itself were all of the highest quality. read more

I recently had an issue with the Hayward Salt System chlorinator for my pool. Upon visiting Hayward's website I learned of Aquarian Pools as an authorized dealer for this system. I didn't have any prior experience with Aquarian, but gave them a call to schedule an appointment. During the scheduled visit, the repairman determined that the main computer board in the system was bad and needed to be replaced. The board was not something they carried in stock so they had to order the replacement. When they returned to replace the board, the repairman told me that there was an electrical problem and I would need to have an electrician fix the issue. He replaced the board without any electricity and was not able to test it. I told him that the issue had to be in the salt system box as I have never had any electrical issues at all. The repairman became defensive and started giving me major attitude that it was an electrical issue and they had done nothing wrong with the salt system box. I contacted an electrician and he inspected all electrical aspects of the breakers and salt system and determined there were no electrical issues and that the problem was in the box. When the salt system box was disconnected from the electrical hookup the break did not pop and the pool pump would run without issue. As soon as the electrician reconnected the salt box to the breaker it would pop. I called Aquarian and talked to Mike (who I believe is the owner) and Mike said that his repairman had done nothing wrong and that when he returned to replace the board found there was no electricity to the system, but that he smelled a burning smell. I again stated that I was having no electrical issue prior to their visit and that the electrician stated there were no electrical issues other than when the salt box was connected. Mike, like his repairman, began to give me attitude about the issue and relented that he would send his repairman back to replace the board. Mike said if the new board did not work he didn't know what to do. I said as the authorized dealer for Hayward, if the second new board didnt' work wouldn't he contact them and see if a new box was needed. He said I would have to contact Hayward as they would listen to me as the customer more than they would listen to Aquarian. I was baffled at the level of customer service. Mike mentioned again about the burning smell and said that maybe the transformer in the box had blown. He said he would have his repairman come check that the next day, which didn't happen. Several days later the repairman came to replace the board and determined that the transformer was blown. I can only gather that something he did while replacing the board caused the transformer to blow...and he pawned the issue off on an electrical issue and made me spend even more money to have an electrician determine that the salt box was the issue. The system is finally up and running. When I got my credit card statement I discovered that Aquarian had charged me for not only the first visit, but again for the second visit even though they were called back to correct what they failed to do the first time. Unbelievable! Nowhere along the way did they mention the second charge. Didn't ask for payment and didn't provide any invoice....they jsut charged my credit card that they had for the first charge. Shameful! Long story short - I disputed the second charge with my credit card company. At the end of this summer I need to have my pool resurfaced and woudl have gotten a quote from Aquarian. However, based on this experience I will NEVER use Aquarian pools again. I would highly recommend that anyone considering using Aquarian think twice! read more

The service when we were shopping for a pool was great which is why we chose Aquarian to install our pool. After we placed our 6,000 dollar deposit the first week of May we hear nothing back for over a month. We call and are told still on track for early to mid July but still have no drawings which we were told we would have a few weeks after we signed our contract and paid our deposit. After multiple calls and messages left we finally receive our drawings and told we our delayed due to weather and now looking at the end of July. I called two weeks ago since again I have heard nothing from our sales rep and told another two weeks. Today it has been another two weeks and again no communication from Aquarian I call and again told another two weeks. I understand weather impacts scheduling but the lack of follow up and communication is poor service. Aquarian has definitely over promised and under delivered. read more

Never again! We had Aquarian install a pool liner for us, and I've NEVER worked with such an unprofessional group. The work was done while I was at work, and when I came home to offer the workers a drink, they informed me that the liner was going to cost me $500 over our contract agreement (notice I said "contract" and not "estimate"). Not only did they tell us they wanted to charge me for work we did not agree upon, but they also completed work on our property we did not authorize. They had my cell phone #, and never bothered to call and inform us of this. Don't bother trying to reason with the store owner, Mike. After hours of conversation (yes, I wasted that much time), he still didn't see what I was upset about and also proceeded to brag about how he stole a tomato from our garden (so unprofessional). To date, we have had nothing but problems with our liner, and the store has continually failed to remedy the issue or even call me back. Once I finally got a hold of a manager, he said it was coping issue and since they didn't replace that...but when I reminded them that yes, in fact, they did replace the coping, it was suddenly due to another issue unrelated to their install. I have never worked with such a terrible company. read more
