Greg and his Crew did excellent work on my Pool renovation after I had a previous Terrible pool remodeler. They broke up cement made everything one level, Put in 3 inch drains which drain into Planters, Replace all Tileline Tile. and I chose an excellent color for Cool Deck. Greg kept me posted every step of the way, Along with his VERY knowledgable Crew. I cannot say enough how much different my pool looks will post pictures when landscapers get done with Planter and I still have another week and a half to go before putting back Patio furniture. Had a few problems with Greg Andersons work. Fortunately I was home when the portion of waterline tile that contained 9 decorative tiles that had to be centered just below a spillway and then spaced evenly each direction (left and right). The tile installer did not center the tiles and had to redo that portion. Had I not been there it would have been a mess. Even Greg agreed he did it wrong. As I felt bad that he had to redo a good portion of his work I offered to go and purchase the Brown grout that was to be used for our pool. The installer said all he had was white and grey. When I told Greg of the mis-aligned tile and that I went and got the brown grout mix to help out his guy. He yelled at me over the phone that "would not approve brown grout on this job" It seemed he forgot who's pool it was. He insisted I sign a waiver that he wouldn't have to Warranty the grout. Since giving up the warranty was the only way to get what I (the customer) wanted I signed it. Communications could have been better as to what step was next and when it will take place. After the job was complete I discovered an issue with my plaster, they call it scabbing. Greg Andersons company had nothing to do with this issue. However I called a different contractor to see it he could repair it. (I no longer wanted to deal with Greg Anderson) It was decided that the old plaster would be removed and a different finish called pebble sheen would be installed by them. During that process spots of the new finish ended up all over my new Greg Anderson installed cool deck. They agreed that they needed to repaint those portions and could I tell them what color it was so they could get some. We told them it was Preferred Deck Solutions, Baha Sand. They brought some out and it did not match by a mile nor did anything else they could find thinking we got another color by mistake etc. This led to speculation about whether it was in fact deck paint at all that was installed on my deck by Greg Anderson. It bears mentioning that Greg told me I was getting an additive "Reflecto Seal" coolant in the paint he used. I've since learned that its already in all true cool deck paints. I have no confidence that he used what he said he was going to use. This is where Greg Anderson comes back into this. I asked him to come and see that I don't have the color he said he used. He didn't want to believe me and said he and his foreman would need to determine that and he couldn't possibly come by for 4 or 5 days. I will say it was short notice but for me it was a big problem, for him not so much. He had no desire to make the customer happy at all. I am president of the Villa Manana HOA which is a small (23-unit HOA) in central Phoenix. We have a community pool. Greg Anderson did a great job with his and his team's work this past winter and spring (early 2024) to replace our pool deck as well as waterline tiles and the coping tiles which are between the deck and the pool. Greg's team moved quickly through this work and they patiently waited for a significant electrical upgrade to be completed by another contractor before the Acrylic Lace decking could be installed. When that time came, they moved quickly again and completed the work to our satisfaction. We found Greg knowledgeable, dependable, and available (we exchanged messages even after 10 pm). We learned afterward that an aerator was clogged during the waterline tile work and Greg promptly responded to this repair need. He also accomodated several change orders that we approved based on his recommendations to ensure our pool filter and pump were working properly. We have no complaints and are in the process of arranging more work by Greg (not as a consequence of his prior work but as a consequence of years of system neglect).
