When I come to Fresh International Market, I don't come to shop, I come to eat. Not only that, but they have a better selection of rice and other snacks and treats. There is a seafood counter, butcher, a bakery attached, and the main attraction for me, their hot bar. The hot bar is cafeteria style in which you point to what you want in front of you. There is a blend of traditional Chinese options and some other more Americanized options. They have all different types of meats, including steamed fish, pork, chicken, etc, as well as tofu and vegetable options. The most expensive option is the $10.99 rice and three options, which is already a bargain in this economy. The food itself is solid for the price, and is very fulfilling. I would totally have this every lunch! Attached to the hot bar is the Chinese BBQ section. There, you can get roast pork, duck and other fresh meats. Their roast pork with the crispy skin absolutely rocks. The meat is tender and the skin is crispy and crunchy. My only problem with Fresh International are their hours. Their hot bar closes at 6:30 PM, while the store stays open until 9. I came at 7:00 PM and they were already wrapped up! Bummer! Make sure to come at lunch while the food is hot and fresh!
