Looking for an afternoon coffee, we decided to try Arabica in the Whistler Village. At first glance we didn't think it was open, but saw someone walking out with a coffee, so in we went. If you're serious about coffee, this spot speaks your language fluently. I slid in for a quick hit and ordered an espresso plus a cup of gelato, thinking it'd be a light stop. Plot twist: it turned into a full-on appreciation moment. The espresso? Dialed. Rich crema, deep aroma, balanced body, zero bitterness. You can taste the precision from bean to bar. It's the kind of shot that makes you pause mid-sip and go, oh yeah... this is why I love coffee. Then the gelato came in to cool things down and absolutely held its own. We stopped by when we were in Whistler for a weekend trip. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is very uniquely designed as it looks like an igloo and it is all white, sleek, and minimal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While it looked super cool, we did find the line-up to order and the line-up to get your drink to be a little confusing. We ordered a Matcha Latte ($6.95) and a Kyoto Latte ($6.95). The hot drinks were the perfect companion to the chilly weather. We loved the sweetened matcha latte and the staff informed us they use matcha syrup, which is probably why the matcha taste is more bold but without much bitterness. The Kyoto latte was slightly sweetened with condensed milk and it is apparently one of the first items created in their Kyoto location, and we found it to be quite smooth though we are not coffee connoisseurs. This was my first experience with % Arabica and it was a very good one! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I thought the white igloo-like interior was cool.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Maybe we came at an off-time, but it wasn't too crowded inside and it was relatively easy to walk around and find a place to sit and enjoy our drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The seating is good for a quick drink break but it's not a place where you'd stay and hang out for an extended period of time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was a lineup through the space, but it moved pretty quickly and our two iced matcha lattes were ready in a blink of an eye after we ordered. The barista that took our order was very polite. I was happy that they were willing to make my drink in the cup I brought since they only use to-go cups. The 12oz matcha latte was $6.95, which I think is a typical price for a decent matcha latte, plus an extra $1 for oat milk (the only dairy alternative available). It was good! What happened to %Arabica Whistler opening on May 11th? Visited Whistler on Monday, May 13th, and noticed that not only was the store closed, but it was still under construction! Did anyone else see the influencer day trip videos on TikTok and Instagram last week (~May 8th-10th) showing the completed beautiful store? But now, most of those videos have been quietly removed, and there's been no update on what happened or when they will reopen. Google still shows that the business is open...5 out of the 7 Google reviews mention that they visited between May 11-May 15th and it was closed and under construction. I was looking forward to try their famous coffee and enjoying their famous ambiance but with no updates nor official announcements from the store it's a bit disappointing. It would have been better if they announced the delay instead of taking all the influencer posts down along with their own posts and pretending as if the soft-opening/announcements never happened. If they had made an announcement then everyone would definitely be understanding and they wouldn't have left a bad first impression. read more

But if they feel you not worthy of influencer service they just throw it together indifferently . It's the first in BC and it's my first cup. The coffee drinks are well crafted but I'd like it warmer. Staff were new at their task. I purchased a bag of beans to brew at home. A coffee place that does not serve cappuccino. I asked if they had a cappuccino and they said yes, and they pointed to a latte and proceeded to make me a latte. The latte was ok, but not what I wanted. Also It is really difficult to exit this place because of a serpentine white bench that they put in with only 3 feet space to enter/exit. When there's a line of people waiting for coffee, there's really no way to get out other than to step over the bench. it's really a poorly designed layout.
